- In the next of my series, A to Z of Books from my bookshelf, it's C for Agatha Christie. I have not been able to give a full list of her books in my video as there are just too many of them! Hope you enjoy this brief overview of her life and works, including a few little stories of my own.
I did promise a list of Christie's books, but as I'm short of time, I am for the moment just giving you a link to a website which gives a full list of her books in order of publication:

New subscriber here! I only started reading Agatha Christie 4 years ago - I am now 60 and can’t believe I had no interest whatsoever in reading her work until then. I do remember watching the films when I was younger and throughly enjoying them and yes David Suchet was a magnificent Poirot. 📚😊
This is so interesting. I love hearing about your theater experience, and your father. Thank you.
Thank you. I love Agatha Christie; and Yorkshire Terriers. God willing, when I retire I plan to own a Yorkie
Very enjoyable. Especially hearing some snippets of your life and connections. Yes please to the readings 😊
I adore Agatha Christie! I have read every single one of her books except for her short stories but I am busy reading them now! I love the books that she published as Mary Westmacott and her autobiography is exceptional! I enjoyed that very much!!! Thank you so much for this video Rosamunde! Oh there is a Miss Marple short story that has to do with Christmas called “A Christmas tragedy” but the Christmas Pudding is a great story too! I am looking forward to your reading very much! And David Suchet is hands down the best Poirot ever!!!😊 hello to Tilly as always! She is as adorable as always!❤
Thank you for another wonderful video! Yes, please! A story reading! Whatever you choose will be great I am sure. Tilly is so adorable and such a lucky pup.
I love your little friend and companion Tilly, as well as listening to you in your videos. I love Agatha Christie and I've loved reading your books through the years. You are a well known author here in the U.S. Thank you for using and sharing your talents. ❤
Thank you for this beautiful video. It was so sweet listening to you talking about your father. I will definetely rewatch They do it with mirrors. And yes, I would love listening to a Christie’s story ❤
Thank you for a wonderful trip down Agatha Christie lane! I have to admit that in the books, I'm a bigger fan of Miss Marple than of Hercule Poirot, but I agree that David Suchet plays Hercule Poirot brilliantly! My favorite Miss Marple on screen is Joan Hickson - she plays the character quite demurely, and she comes across as appearing to be rather muddled, which is how I read her character in the books. That being said, I do love all of her books and the film/TV adaptations!
Anniversaries of the death of a loved one can be difficult, but I find it to be a good time to remember the happy memories you had together. ❤
I love Agatha Christie's writing! I'm told that her favorite American author was Elizabeth Daly who wrote a series of detective novels featuring a book expert named Henry Gamadge. He was always being drawn into strange murder situations that always included some reference to well-known books. The stories are set in the 1930's/40's. The books were out of print for a while but are now available from a private publisher. I really enjoy your book commentary.
Just bought a used copy of Unexpected Night, the first in the Henry Gamadge series, from Amazon. Thanks so much for name-dropping this author, never head of her or her creation before. Sounds like fun!
@@barbarapeterson4000 Glad you found the first in the series. After I read that one, I was determined to find all in the series. I had to keep in mind that some of the text has now become "historical", rather like myself. 😄
Enjoyed this thanks Ros. I’m a AC fan & have read all of her work. I like the Marple and Poirot books but some of her stand alones such as Crooked House, are masterpieces. She churned out novels and some weren’t so good but she still managed ingenious plots. Joan Hickson and David Suchet are my favourite Marple and Poirot. Her second husband was ten years younger and he adored her. Agatha was a chemist, pharmacist and that’s where she got all her knowledge of poisons. Agatha wrote Curtain, the final Poirot in 1940. 35 years before his demise. So some of the book seems dated. I always read her books every Christmas time, I find them very comforting. Thinking of you on your mum’s anniversary, time goes by so slowly and yet incredibly swiftly simultaneously. I guess you are finding that with your time travel writing.
Thank you for the Agatha Christie episode. I have read her books and watched the adaptations since my teens. This was a reminder of some titles I had forgotten and am now tempted to reread. A Christmas reading would be fabulous.
I adore Agatha Christie. I remember reading her books in the 1970's . I have my favorites as we all do. The only way I could ever watch Poirot with David Suchet was the advent of streaming services or PBS here in the states . That is when I really fell in love with the character and the marvelous Suchet. People are so angry at Kenneth Branagh's portrayal of the detective that I find it amusing. Kenneth simply has a different take on it but no one can replace Suchet's performance. I own a few of the books. I loved the ones that took place in the exotic locales but almost all the stories were so good. One of my favorites is Five Little Pigs, Sad Cypress, Appointment with Death, The Hollow. Say Hi to sweet Tilly.
I am a new subscriber (and a huge Agatha Christie fan!).
Thank you for this channel. I look forward to future videos and, lucky me, catching up on previous videos. ❤
I am born on Sept 15 so very glad to hear that i share same birthday month/day as the infamous Agatha Christie.❤
Fabulous! Thank you 🙏
What an imagination and what a gift to her and to her readers. ❤
Welcome back Rosa mande. Great video. Agatha Christie is amazing
TH-cam has a slew of Christie audiobooks as well as radio and tv adaptations. Gentle listening.
I absolutely love Agatha Christie's books. I plan to read her biography soon. Also the window cleaner reminded me Cards on the table by Agatha Christie that I enjoyed re-reading recently
Thank you for introducing yourself to us newbies!! I am so enjoying your channel. Thank you for your hard work 😊😊
I have been following you since you came on the scene and it's so exciting watching your channel grow.
I know most of Agatha Christie's works quite well, and as soon as you said your father's character was "Christian Gulbransen," I knew who he was and what the story was. I watched it on TH-cam last night and so enjoyed seeing him. You have a strong resemblance to him--I imagine you've heard that often!
Oh, how lovely! Thank you - great character wasn't he - shame he got bumped off so soon! Nice to know someone has seen this and now knows who he is 🙂
Hello, new sub here from Canada! Grew up reading Agatha Christie and now my 15 year old daughter reads them ... after the new movies are released.
Cheers to Tilly - a little sweetie.
Hello Tilly 👋🐾 And thank you for these wonderful videos.
thanks for the bio; I'm a new watcher and I find your videos both interesting and soothing - it's good to be amongst friends!
Thank you for such a lovely video... I am late in the game - I'm in my early 70's - to appreciate Agatha Christie, thanks to Britbox and PBS here in America. I have become fascinated with and love British mysteries, so much that I have thought to try sherry a couple years ago since it is part of many scenes. I, in fact, am drinking a bit of sherry with my post Thanksgiving leftover lunch as I watch this. 🍷cheers !
Hi Rosamund, I discovered your channel a couple of days ago and have watched a few of your recent videos. Just wanted to let you know I am buried deep in the SECOND book of the Cazalet series you recommended in your historical fiction video, having devoured the FIRST book yesterday! (It's a holiday weekend here in the States.) I am just swimming in their huge family world and loving it so much. I can't wait to see what other wonderful reads you recommend in your other videos. Thank you so much for the Cazalets, really.
Hello, New subscriber from Michigan. Really enjoy your videos. I know I will be reading a lot more in the next few years and I have been taking notes on your book suggestions. Not sure if you have ever suggested it but I just finished reading No Holly for Miss Quinn by Miss Read and really enjoyed it. I have read a few other books by Miss Read and also loved them. Would love to hear you read the Christmas Mouse by Miss Read but can’t remember if it would be too long. Reading Winter Solstice again, it’s a Christmas tradition.
Loving your recommendations!
What a lovely video! You presented Agatha Christie’s life story so well. As for a Christmas read along, my first thought is The Sittaford Mystery, mainly due to the snowy scenes presented in the story. However I guess it isn’t very Christmasy, and it is rather long.😅
Love Agatha Christie and without a doubt David Suchet is the best ever!
Thank you so much for covering Agatha Christie, so many memories from reading her stories and then reminded me of The Nancy Drew stories. Just a thought, I am addicted to Korean Dramas, saved me during the pandemic. The Korean tradition is to have a day of remembrance on the anniversary of their family members passing. This may also be a Buddhist ritual so moving. Yes please do a reading would be excellent.
the
Hope oye Day you'll do one about Charles Dickens. My favourite author ever
Hello, I'm Christina, I'm from Romania and I'm happy to follow you. I also have a 10-year-old big yorkshire Maya who likes to be the center of attention and I like it when Tilly appears on the camera. I like the Marple and Poirot and I prefer Joan Hickson and David Suchet.
I like The sadness of the cypress tree and Poirot's Christmas, but I also like Why didn't I propose to Evans. I also read the biography written by Agatha and also the book by David Sushet Poirot and Me.I adore Agatha Christie!
Starring Olivia Williams the 2004 tv movie "Agatha: A Life In Pictures" does a great job exploring the possible reasons for the author's mysterious disappearance in 1926.
I am a new subscriber and like you have been reading since l first learned to do so. Agatha is the only mystery writer that I can not guess who did the deed before the end.
Agatha Christie and Shakespeare are the two best selling authors of all time. Astonishingly the third best selling author ever is Danielle Steel!
By the way Sittaford Mystery takes place in winter too, there was heavy snowfall for sure.
Don’t forget Angela Lansbury in The Mirror Crack’d From Side to Side.😊 And Helen Hayes! Also, in Curtain, they return to Styles, the setting of Christie’s first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. I’m so sorry about your mother. I don’t remember that happening, and I was watching you for at least a year. I do remember, however, that she passed. I lost my mother 15 years ago, so I understand what it’s like.❤
In the 1970's a friend took some of Agatha Christie's books and eveybody was reading one and waiting the next someone else finished and read it.
Hallo Rose, I am enjoying your lovely videos and bought some of the books you recommended (few days ago I received Winter solstice). Could you make a video in which you recommend us some novels that are moving and or heartwarming? That would be great!
Poirot: David No. 1 indeed!
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
😊

Dear Rosamunde, thank you for your lovely you tube channel. It is very inspiring to listen to your recommandations. Do you listen to the podcast She dunnit by Caroline Crampton? Her podcast is about the books from the golden age of detectives. She unravvels the mysteries behind classic detective stories. Will you please consider making another episode about Agatha Christie about her books written under the name Mary Westmacott? I love those novels! Greetings from the Netherlands, Marian.
It was a life-long ambition of mine to see The Mousetrap. That was until a journalist in a national newspaper revealed whodunnit, and unfortunately I’ve never forgotten what he said. I don’t know if he did it because he just assumed that because he and all his cosmopolitan friends knew who it was, that everyone in the world also knew. Or maybe it was just spite.
Wow - that's almost a criminal offence - I'm surprised he didn't lose his job!
