I wish I was there. I travel there every six weeks undertaking the wainwright walks. I was there last January. I cannot wait for this third lockdown to end. I camp with my dog and cat in the Borrowdale area.
yep been visiting keswick regular since 2002, a special place, people very friendly, lots to see and do, would highly reccomend, and a beautiful place.
packhorse inn was where we lived, my parents managed it for a while in 1991. planning on a little trip to keswick this week it always feels like going home despite the many subtle qnd not so subtle changes over the years.
Lovely video. Been coming to the Lakes all my life. Keswick is like a second home. Interesting to see all the changes over the years. Next up in October!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Saw plenty of places I patronised on my first visit a few months ago I feel you could have gone a smidge further at the end to the bus terminal outside, Booths. Buses to Penrith, Buttermere and Windermere
Oh THANK YOU from central Canada! So loved to ‘go there’ again. Who knows when I will see my ancestral area again. On one hand nice to see it not crowded but sad for the business owners!
Nice town and parks. More time at the lakeside, and info on boat trips and walks around the lake, would've been appreciated. Saw Keswick at its best on a warm day!
Thanks for this. I'm planning on visiting Keswick for the first time in July 2023 with my dog and it was reassuring to see the park by the lake, and Fitz Park, as where we're staying there doesn't seem to be any green verges, etc
Love your informative video..very well presented indeed. Been there since 1997. First arrived on the Day lady Diana died. All shops closed on the Wed following the weekend. You passed a shop..formally Woolworths!!!. We stayed in Daleview hotel..300 yardsfrom the tourist info. See if you can see were it used to be????? ( daleview hotell)
Thank you. I too remember Woolworths, now Mountain Warehouse, you used to be able to come in from both the Main Street and through a back door by the central car park. 👍🏻
Next to hope park is a really nice café ran by a Adult Disabilities group right next to the playground and the main Keswick Museum very close to the swimming pool, you also forgot to mention the two supermarkets for supply's
Great to see, thanks for the video. Thanks to covid, this has been the first year in at least 10 I haven’t had a usual trip to Keswick, normally at Christmas though.. it’s even longer though seeing it in the sun 😁.. 6:47 I miss my usual pastie, and walk along Derwent.
Ask that question on a Facebook page and you’ll get hundreds of answers!🤣 There are lots of lovely small villages in and around the lakes, however if your wanting somewhere with plenty to see and do I find Windermere/Ambleside very nice with plenty to do and see in the local area. I could also easily recommend Keswick. I don’t think you would be disappointed in either. 👍🏻
Up the bank where the cinema is The Square Orange The Squorange) it's great, and next door to that is an antiques shop with a wonderful 2nd hand record shop. Wetherspoons ;-(
Hi. This video was filmed in June 2020. The Max bench in Keswick wasn’t installed until July 2021, that’s why it’s not in the film. 😀👍🏻 Thanks for watching.

I’m missing it so much. Can’t wait to get back there. I’m just spending the lockdown continually watching TH-cam videos in the Lakes.. 🤞
Thanks for this. I'm planning on visiting Keswick for the first time in July 2023 with my dog and it was reassuring to see the park by the lake, and Fitz Park, as where we're staying there doesn't seem to be any green verges, etc
Yes. Plenty of greenery and open spaces for exercising the dog. I’m sure you’ll love it. Thanks for watching. 😀👍🏻

Derwent Water is one of the nicest things i've ever seen, south of my country, Scotland : )
You’re right. Scotland is lovely. 👍🏻 Glasgow is one of my favourite cities to visit.
Where's the nicest place in lake District to go stay a break? For shops sights, things to do etc? Windermere Keswick etc?
Ask that question on a Facebook page and you’ll get hundreds of answers!🤣 There are lots of lovely small villages in and around the lakes, however if your wanting somewhere with plenty to see and do I find Windermere/Ambleside very nice with plenty to do and see in the local area.
