I suffer with Fibromyalgia and I find walking pretty difficult most days but I don't let it stop me i love the outdoors Scotland is my love my heart and my first Mountain climb last year was Stob Coire Glen Coe along side me my best buddy my doggo Mr Douglas n my amazing husband...when we reached the top my heart filled I cried with happiness that all 3 of us made it .. it was my dogs 1st climb too x So after that we visited Isle of Arran and climb Goat Fell all 3 of us it was hard but I did it..I am 58 so getting on a bit haha Glencoe is calling our names so we are there in June to clime the Hidden valley or lost valley Coire Gabhail :) as well as many other adventures while we are there...The lakes is on my to do list and thanks to your TH-cam channel and YOU its a very big must for a weekend this year...Thankyou Abbie :)
Just recieved my map of the Lake District and I've begun taking notes and marking my map for 2023 when I'll be visiting the Lakes. Thank you for the gorgeous views, points of interests and inspiration!
I've just recently moved to Penrith from the South of England. The countryside is fab, its very uplifting to the soul. Plus thanks for showing me a great hike.
I was there same day as you . It was busy due to covid stay cations . Beautiful place . We found room north Fells for the days after away from the madding crowds .Great video Abbie x
That was great - I really miss the Lake District so I really appreciate being taken on such a nice tour. Those views were incredible and it reminded me of how beautiful it is around Buttermere. Haystacks was the first 'peak' we summited in the Lakes but I had no idea the ridge in the other direction was so picturesque. Gotta find a way to get back there!
You make absolutely the loveliest videos, which bring such a peacefulness and love to the heart... 🙏💗✨ Thank you so, so much for sharing these adventures with us; these beautiful lands bring so much light.
WOW Just brilliant though my knees are hurting and that's just watching you , so good and thanks for showing us the route . did cat bells back of last year and hoping to do fleewoth pike and poss this one this year . thanks so much for getting us all out when were stuck in .
Amazing day on the tops - I did the same route 30 years ago, certainly one of my favourite days out walking ever! It's a special place, thats for sure!
I love you so much, I sit down and watch your videos every night. You make my day. I climbed snowdon last month and I’m doing scafell pike next week. I wouldn’t be with the mountains if it wasn’t for you :)
I did these same fells in September last year - all summits covered in cloud, but it did part long enough for me to catch a glimpse of Ennerdale and the forested valley below where I was standing. Beautiful.
Wonderful video Abbie on such a beautiful day. Hubby (disabled) and I were at Buttermere two weeks ago and my dog enjoyed a dip in the Lake. I was longing to do a low level circuit of the lake but couldn't leave hubby on his own for too long. In fitter days we went up Haystacks, so lots of great memories.
Beautiful, engaging video, thank you. Very poetic and pensive asides too. We had super view of Thirlmere from High Rig yesterday and over Derwentwater and Keswick from part way up Blencathra. The Lakes is a experience. Take care!
Hey Abbie. Just wanted to say a massive thanks! Watched this video and completed the walk last weekend with my 2 labradoodles. What a blast! We’re new to the lakes. Live in the Peak District but need new adventures so looking forward to future videos to show us the way!
Truly amazing yet again. Fantastically captured scenery.Just stunning. Abbie, you have superpowers, nerves of steel and have practically perfected vertical lift-off. Im experiencing a new determination to get on outwards and upwards Thanks for taking me there.
I love these fella never get tired of them. But too popular in summer and some quite interesting winter routes. But the beauty and tranquillity of Buttermere is hard to beat.
A beautiful walk on a stunning day wow nice did this walk years ago now so lovely to see it again and the mountains also great cable etc and buttermere is a gem in lakes. Thanks 🙏
Watching your videos is making me miss the lakes. I haven't been back since I broke my leg on High Rigg in November. Cant wait to get back over and start ticking off more wainwrights and taking in views like these again
Thank you. I am doing my knee re-hab workouts along with your videos. Such rocky trails in this one, like we have in the Sierra Nevada. I hope that you will have the chance to hike the John Muir Trail in California someday. It is wonderful. Happy Trails!
That little lake at the top! 😍 Want to let you know Dave received his Stay Wild Shirt which I gave him for our anniversary this week. He totally teared up! Couldn’t believe it. He loves your channel that much. Thank you for sharing your journeys!
another great video, thank you for sharing. You have really ignited my passion for the outdoors again in 2022, after watching your videos I am now booked to do 3 peaks and more, just itching to get on with it now but again thanks for sharing, hope to bump into you on a trail somewhere, sometime.....
Thanks Abbie for a great video, did this last year approached from Ennerdale on my C2C journey but great to relive those amazing views, keep doing what you are doing, you have a lovely style
Amazing video mate! Inspiring, will be doing that soon. Great to see you back to normal! Love yr videos it makes me want to be there and inspires me to get out and do it! Be Proud of you! 😌
Don't know if maybe I've subscribed to too many channels but it's been that long since I've seen any videos of yourself Abbie, another great video and I hope you and your partner are doing well, regards from Glasgow 👍
Lol at your comment of loving the names of the places around there. They are Different for sure. I live on the west coast of Canada and I love the scenery of most of the places you go for hikes. We have mountains, which I have no interest in climbing in that I am over 60 & very out of shape. I Would like to hike some of your walks but only Some as others are downright scary to me. Thanks for sharing your treks with us, your collective audience. :-) This hike was not one that I would do. :-)
Lol just noticed you posted that on 4 April a year ago oddly I just got down from fleetwith pike on 3rd April left the peaks of buttermere yesterday iv been up on those summits a few times in the last couple months normally in starting from fleetwith droping down to warnscale bothy then dropping to the left to start the ascent of red pike going across to buttermere and crummock waters crossing over to take the mountains opposite side over back to haystack and to honister dropping down in to seatoller... today im over in the mountains near Penrith I had to get a bus from Keswick to troutbeck then another that goes to patterdale getting off as the bus headed up into the mountains last night it's beautiful..btw what you mean playing up there as kids growing up lol we are still kids just were all grown up now an still playing around up in the mountains life is peaceful up there... hope you are well and living life to the fullest still sending massive respect and much love to you Abbie..love ya😘❤
I’m so mad at myself for not being able to get to the top of Red Pike… But it was sooo slippery for me. One step forward and a big slide back. Then I tried on the grass but that took me off path and I sort of ended up climbing the side and getting stuck. So the safety voice in my head called it a day. But I really wanted to do the whole walk on top of the ridge and going back down the other side of the lake. Still burns. Will try again 💪
My first hike and Wainwrights in the LD (and first YT video) was this route except that I went up via Scale Force to Red Pike and looked down over Bleaberry Tarn...the path looked crazy steep from the top. I hated that descent from High Crag to Seat...I don't know how anyone did it safely in front of me without a hiking pole/stick. I have good memories of that first epic Lake District hike though.
Great watch. I walked the same route on the 22 March. Fab weather. Every year the short scramble to Red Pike gets more eroded. Dodd is a fantastic view point. We stopped there too. Where did you stay? Didn’t catch the name of the camp site. In bad weather High Stile can get very confusing ! Take care.
Some pretty nice infinity pools at the back of fleetwith pike to the right of warnscale bothy where the waterfalls drop down de ent size pools for a bit of skinny dipping there is one really deep pool it's not to big probably ten foot by eight foot but it's deep your feet won't touch the bottom they're pretty tricky to access as the ledges from warnscale bothy are hard to get by they can be accessed from dubs bothy if you follow the path to buttermere if u cross the stream and follow the water back up but again to access the pools you need to navigate some crag ledges so if your not a climber don't try as it is dangerous but from the pools you get an awesome view of the water as it looks like it's dropping directly into buttermere lake..
It’s a great walk, I did this yesterday. Things to note, the video condenses the distance (about 14km) and the level of scree up Red Pike and down High Crag. Be careful with the footing and enjoy because it’s wonderful up there
what a lovely walk you did, well done Abbie but Dodd isn't one of the Wainwright Fells but it makes you think why it isn't as Rannerdale Knotts is all on its own and that's only 355m.
A great walk but i hate the section of path immediately beneath the front of red pike and will always avoid in the future. The first time i did the walk i ascended near scale force. It was a great day.
As a Wainwright bagger myself, Dodd is one of the peaks that causes me to question his thinking. How it could be excluded and the Mell Fells, for example, included, puzzles me. I often wonder what the cut line was.
That was amazing. Would love to do that. Not sure how I would manage going down with chronic back / leg pain. (not to mention fear of heights and falling from them lol) Oddly, I'm fine going up. I will get out of breath and have to stop now and then, but I do well at it. If only I didn't have to go back down. Hoping as I get out more that my legs, especially my hips and knees will start to improve (for me it's nerve damage)
A beautiful video as always abbie! I didn't know the bluebells were out yet 😁 Your narration is so professional, yet true to you, eloquent, spiritual even at times, a true inspiration! I wanted to catch u at outdoor expo but unfortunately was late due to camping the night before. Hope to catch you at some point ATB 👩&🐕
Hi Abbie We are in Buttermere next weekend and thinking about walking that route (weather permitting). May i ask if you also climbed Haystacks or did you cut down prior to that? Also is this route suitable for someone with average fitness who occasionally gets overwhelmed by steep descents? Ps love your videos and take care x
I want to do same walk as you on the movie in couple days 😀😍 can you tell me how many hours roughly did you spend on the walk? I'd appreciate your answer ❤

I got engaged at Buttermere a couple of years ago, and was my son's first lake walk. So lucky to love in the area! 😃 Great video 👍
That was great - I really miss the Lake District so I really appreciate being taken on such a nice tour. Those views were incredible and it reminded me of how beautiful it is around Buttermere. A beautiful and special part of the world. Thanks for sharing it with us Abbie.
Brought back some memories. I did that route the other way round in 2007, including the free parking away from the village. A hot but magical day.
Beutiful walk , im in the lakes in Sept and Nov this year and can't wait to get back up those amazing mountains , great vid again , thanks
Thanks Abbie, great video!
What a lovely video 🌸
Dear Abbie! Well done again, what a fantastic trail and landscape, thanks for sharing!😍

My favourite lake is curmmock water closely followed by buttermere first time 60 years ago when I was 15
Great vid, never done this route, now on the list, done the langdales last week including jacks rake 💩 my pants. Stay wild.
Truly inspirational. Thank you Abbie

Great choice of music on this one.
Did this as part of the Wainwright Memorial Walk - the best long distance walk imo - can highly recommend it

Great video! I was wondering how long this route took you, and do you know the distance you covered?

Hi Abbie.. One place i wish i had gone to but my time ran out. Do not know if i shall ever get back that way.. Regards Mick.. x
Awesome vlog

Imagine living here 🤯

I was so struck by the dark brown, almost black, dirt in England. In Oklahoma, where I grew up, the dirt is a pinkish-red.
Most of it is Peat Bog.The locals use it as fuel for their fires throughout the winter months
I want to do same walk as you on the movie in couple days 😀😍 can you tell me how many hours roughly did you spend on the walk? I'd appreciate your answer ❤
How long does this hike take please
Allow the full day 😌
