Damn nice gun. I've been keeping my eye out for a good deal on any Anschutz. It's tough to hold a great group at 100 with 22WMR. But it's my favorite rimfire cartridge for varmint control.
Thanks for your good review ,have had one of these rifles since the beginning of the covid 19 lockdown , have finally been able to get possession of it but not allowed to attend the range yet to try it .Mine is 22lr but have decided to get a 22wmr barrel for it when they are available .Totally agree with your comments about handling and mounting ,I was lucky to get the aluminium trigger guard/mag well and it feeds without a flaw .Mine will mostly be used for competition but the barrel change gives an extra option .I`m an old man now and have been an Anschutz user for a very long time ,I bought my first one back in the 1950`s , it was branded JGA . I like the look of this rifle very much .
Rimfire Ammunition book by Steven Boelter has best accuracy from Rem Premier with Horn v max 33gr at .876 at 100yd. So Horn definitely has a great set of 22 mag projectiles. Next is Fed 40 gr FMJ at .996
I have owned two 1515-16 Anschutz 22 magnums and both shot under 1/2" 5 shots at 100m. Yes I did say OWNED, stupidly sold both. Best rimfires I've ever used, beautiful triggers and smooth actions and the 22 magnum is super accurate in a good rifle.

Would like to see more reviews on sub $2k varmit rifles, as most of us on Australian Farms use for pest control and a bit of plinking with the lads occasionally. Wouldn't have an anschutz bouncing around the cab of a Landcruiser chasing varmits 😆👍 You do great reviews!

I recently purchased this rifle in 22LR LH DHB I am have issues with the feeding and ejecting rounds perhaps I need to get some kind of lube for the bolt ? Other than that I love the gun. I also have a CZ 457 AT One and the action is flawless very smooth for considerably less money .I am hoping the Anschutz will get smoother and the action will loosen up and load and eject rounds like my CZ with more use haven't fired too many rounds through it so far ?
I couldn't find that Classic Model on the Anschutz site i live in the UK, is it the .22 HMR im considering getting the Anschutz myself, can you fit a Silencer to it.

I have both. They're not similar at all and they both came out around the same time. They are both very accurate but the anschutz has better quality materials and should hold it's value better.

Winchester ammo is mostly trash in my experience.

A great rifle. I have the 1761 in .22lr, thumb hold stock and the short barrel. Sub 1/2 inches group’s are possible at 80 meters. Life is good 😎

And people say the .22Mag isn’t accurate. I find that with Anschutz and other expensive rifles, they are less picky on ammo than cheaper rifles.

Yep but that was in 22lr, both are very good rifles but I prefer Anschutz

I hate to say it must the quality is marginally better. Damn love CZ rifles though.
I have both. The trigger on the cz is not as good however I find it just as accurate if not more.
My 1761 can shoots 0.4 of an inch at 50m using CCI 30gr poly tip.

Buy a CZ457 instead. Cheaper and better. Anschutz copies the 457. Clearly CZ is worrying Anschütz
