This trailer was much better than the first. And why am I suddenly realizing how well these movies are shot? Like the cinematography looks a lot better than most other teen/ drama high school movies.

Thats the whole point of this sequel. Im not sure how the book progresses, so will just make a remark purely based on what happened in the movie. The movie throws in a potentially new love interest for LJ just to put her in the hot seat, because as far as life goes you cant expect relationships to be smooth sailing, unless couples are still in the midst of their honeymoon period. For a rather inexperienced girl like CJ, her reservations about her budding rlts with PK have always been the elephant in the room ( in terms of both her wariness of rlts and insecurity towards Gen-PK), which would definitely be heightened if there's a new variable in the equation. Its part of the rlts for one to navigate through the decoys and settle on what ultimately matters to the heart
Agree. Actually, I kinda thought the LJ-PK relationship was kinda toxic, because LJ was constantly doubtful, trying to break up, and to me, that shows they don't belong together. Besides, they have very different interests, and in real life, that usually causes tension between lovers.
However, I must admit that PK did help LJ grow, and viceversa, which is also very important.
So, JA was the good, safe choice, and PK was the risky-but-more-rewarding choice.

They were childhood crushes and they have a spark. a healthy spark instead of the toxic mess i read in the book. John was willing to dress up for her and do all those caring things for her but what about peter. its been an year but if remember correctly peter even messed up Lara's birthday. John didnt. John was there and John deserves so much better honestly. Like ffs his name is John Mclaren ambrose. We all love Peter but girl when I read the book I secretly wanted her and John ambrose to end together, even when I knew that would not happen and I love Peter and Lara jean together. I think people will fell in love with John's character in this movie if they portrayed him right. Figures crossed

In the movies they made John Ambrose as being the wrong guy whereas in the books it was explicably stated by Lara Jean that she could easily fall in love with John Ambrose since he was so perfect, however it was just that Peter got to her first and so it was all justified by timing. I didn't like the way the movie version left John Ambrose hanging. I mean we know it's supposed to be LJ & Peter but man John Ambrose is goals!
I didn't read the books (but I'm gonna haha) but I got that impression by watching the movie.
You could feel that John Ambrose was her perfect match and that they would fit perfectly but PK was.... you know Peter Kavinsky! Hahaha
But idk, I felt like Lara Jean and John Ambrose should've ended together (even if Peter is like the description of the best boyfriend that you could possibly imagine, there was something about both of them that didn't match)
I 100 percent agree that John Ambrose is goals but for some reason I didnt seem the type of connection I see with Lara Jean and Peter. Although LJ and JA are very similar, Lara Jean and Peter bring out the best in themselves and even after arguing, they still learn how to better themselves in the end

Tuza Bona I agree. On the other hand that’s what I like about the movie. Love doesn’t come right from the start. So whether you begin a relationship has a lot to do with timing. Peter got with LJ first, so he didn’t get with Jen. LJ got together with Peter first, so she didn’t get with John. They got back together because of the evolving relationship that developed AFTER that pool incident where Peter picked LJ. You sometimes can’t explain who you will end up having feelings for. @@emiax6689 I read the books, too. They changed that part because they didn't know if they were making a second movie or not so didn't want to end it on a cliffhanger like the book. They get back together in Chapter 2 of the second novel. So, no, that's really not a major change. All they did was speed up and cut out some of the drama so that they ended up together at the end of the first movie instead of having the exact same thing happen within the first 10 minutes or so of the second movie (which, again, they had no idea if there even would be a second movie). Hardly a major deviation.

Okay 2 things wrong about the movie.
1: I wish we could’ve seen Peter’s perspective after the breakup.
2: I wish they didn’t leave John hanging at the end.
Im sure there’s more things wrong but otherwise... This movie was a masterpiece. I noticed how they put a lot of thought into the camera angles, script and directing. Peter and LJ’s relationship felt so realistic and sweet and it gradually came down hill. It didn’t just happen in a flash like some movies.

The movie was boring af. Wasn’t that good like I was imagine it. Bc the ending was cringe af. Spoiler: She kissed John and then suddenly she said, she’s still in love with Peter. Like wtf girl. This whole movie was so disappointing. Like Peter and Lara’s relationship seemed toxic in the sequel one. I wish this movie would be more realistic than fantasy, bc it gives really a bad imagine for young people, that never been in a relationship.

Did they change the stylist for the movie? I feel like Lara Jean’s style in the first movie is actually way better than in the second movie.
It could be one of those "Being in a relationship for the first time changes you" concepts... (which sure, you do try new things) but I agree, her wardrobe in the first film matched a very *RELATABLE girl-you-actually-know.* It was perfect.
In the books it mentions that Lara Jean is Korean that is why she is wearing that Blue Korean robe in the beginning.

I think this style is closer to what the actress wears in real life. I've seen her in outfits like this and with similar (heavier) makeup. she looks pretty, but I also waay prefer her girlish relatable style in the 1th movie.
kyra’s world agreed about her hair being puffier. In the first movie it was her real hair but then she chopped it off after filming for her character on a tv show. So they had to put extensions when they started filming the sequel. Her real hair was still in a bob during this production.
