    Fabulous cars. I have just acquired one and it drives like a brand new car, not one that is 16 years old. The engine ticks over in near silence from outside and completely silent from within the cabin. These cars were made to last. Completely built in Japan. Good video.

      Cheers Mark. No two ways about it, these were actually thought through. Sadly, I needed something bigger so it had to go but it's been a real love affair. All the toys, quality build, so very comfortable and the reliability is second to none :-)

    It radiates reliability, and that comes from someone who has driven german cars exclusively (Seat toledo mk2, Mercedes W211 and Skoda Octavia 1) I am interested in this specific model, there are not much of them out there, but that can be a positive thing too.
    The only things that are strange to me, and a bit unsettling is the fact the 200 only has 155hp a 4 speed automatic and weirdly 2.0 6 cilinder. Idk, it's strange.. I am doubting to get myself a W211 again (a 3.2 petrol) because it has 5 speed automatic.. And most importantly to.. The W211 after 2003 don't rust anymore (not in the Netherlands atleast, i know in the UK every car rusts xd)
    But i like this specific Lexus too! Even tho i think it's a bit small. I just need to testdrive it one day to see how it drives. I like it because the exterior and interior, it's just something else i like it, looks very industrial to me for some reason. I also like the fact it is rwd with a lockable diff.

      Yes, everything you say is totally accurate. Plus, it's a non-interference engine so unlikely to get damaged and really easily tuneable so that 155 bhp can be easily increased :-) Apparently, they're popular over here as track day cars :-)

    What's the difference between chair and electric chair?
    You can seat on both but you really don't want to seat on the second.

      Hi :-) I love Lexus cars because they're so thoughtfully made and almost anything that comes from Japan is quality. My favourite nations for manufacture are Germany and Japan. Can't go wrong :-)

    Hey mate, I’m planning to get a 2002 with 176k km on it from a dealer. What’s the maintenance cost like for these?

    • @FoxysGuitarShow
      @FoxysGuitarShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They have a non-interference engine and with 176km (or 110,00 miles) it should be great for the same again. With them being a non-interference engine they naturally use oil. When I'm buying a used car I'm usually more interested in the guy who's selling it than the car. It tells you a lot :-)

    The cd player always breaks on these cars. I am now on my second IS200 and I have the same problem.

    • @FoxysGuitarShow
      @FoxysGuitarShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those multi changers frequently seem to be problematical. I've now got an X5 with a thing called a 'tape deck' - much more reliable because I don't have any tapes to put in it :-) Kind regards

      @FoxysGuitarShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jaden :-) These are very understressed engines and interference free. They're certainly good for 400,000 kms. The build quality of these cars is legendary. Buy with confidence buddy. Cheers :-)

    What's a good price and mileage range for a used car???

    • @FoxysGuitarShow
      @FoxysGuitarShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends upon the make and evidence of reliability. Generally speaking, I always want either Japanese or German with less than 100,000 miles on the clock for a used vehicle - great build quality and reliability :-)

      Hi there and thanks for your comment :-) These cars are so over-engineered it's incredible. As for requiring parts, I've yet to hear of one that's broken down in a terminal way. The only thing I ever did to this in four years of ownership was oil changes and a set of coil packs. Epic motors. Cheers, Gary :-)

    • @FoxysGuitarShow
      @FoxysGuitarShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quite honestly, hot, cold or indifferent, these things start on the button. The only known weakness are the coil packs but at £60 for a set of six it's not going to break the bank and then you're good for another 30,000 miles or more. Sadly, the old boy has left me now in favour of an X5 but you really can't fault Japanese engineering. Kind regards
