Ah the good ole days. I am a retired US Army officer and Vietnam vet so that tells you how old I am. My oldest daughter introduced me to Freddy Fender and I have loved it since. I am married to a Spanish speaking woman and I will intro it to her.

You sound so sweet! ❤ Thank you so much, kind Soul, for being there for your Country. I wasn't conceived yet, but I still feel a Soldier's devotion & grateful for the ones that made it back Home (U.

There was one country music station in NYC when I was a little kid growing up in the 70s. I remember my mom would always have it on in the kitchen in the evening. Love all these old classic country tunes. Brings back such good memories of my mom who’s 85 now. Sweet times.

FREDDY FENDER came to Anchorage Alaska in the mid 70s. A vivid treasured memory. I was just 11 years old, my first concert. Mr. FENDER wore a purple suit, he also wore nice smelling cologne. His concert was so good we saw him a second time, that night. Freddy gave me a hug, and i smelled like him and we listened to his songs on 8 track all the way home. Thank You Mr FENDER!!! :D

Met Freddy Fender at Rockwood Park Ontario Canada after his concert. I was 7 and he had gone into his trailer after the show. Everyone was crowded around the door of the trailer waiting for him to come out I being 7 had wandered away to chase after a squirrel and see where it was going I ended up behind the trailer at a tree when I looked up he was looking out the window at me he opened the window and asked me my name I told him who I was and that my mom was his biggest fan and that we had come all the way from ajax just to see him he told me to come around to the front of the trailer and had his bodyguard escort my mother myself and my youngest sister into the trailer to meet him he was an absolute gentleman gave us autographs and had his picture taken with my mother when she passed away in 1988 that picture was buried with her my memories of her happiness that day will be buried with me someday.

I think he missed my mom when he did that. Guess I'm missing him to be here myself but he sure did turn this rock and roller at heart onto a ton of great country music and artists.

I bought a used Freddy Fender two record set album at a local thrift store some time ago and finally got around to playing the records. What great talent this man has! And his music! I had no idea what his other songs sounded like until I played them. I just knew the Wasted Days/Nights song. Sadly he is gone now but his wonderful music will last for a very long time.

Imagine Freddy trying to make it in today's music where voice and singing ability fall a far second to looks and marketability. Glad Freddy was around when singing was the #1 requirement for a singer.

Curt Ray And where is Susan Boyle? Remember William Hung from AI? They're the type of people who are given a chance simply for the reason they are ugly or as a novelty. Freddy was a legit singer who people still enjoy listening to that wasn't just a fad.

I used to play drums with Freddie Fender his real name was Baldemar Huerta back in the early 70's he used to run a bar in Monte Alto, TX. I wasn't part of his band I would help a band that used to be a back up for him. back then he used to play tejano (tex-mex) music

It's 2022 and I remember in 1974 getting ready for my Junior Prom and this was the only album I could play on the family stereo. My friends came to pick me up and I was embarrassed by it not being Zeppelin until they listened while me and my girlfriend got ready. I was so happy the guys had fell in love with Freddy. It showed me that he surpassed all ages. I even have kids and grandchildren who play his music. ❤️
