This is my crying song now. My sister is fighting a valiant battle. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Jan 2020. She has lived longer than expected. But to think of losing her, I don't know how I will go on. This song helps cry out my heartbreak. Thank you Percy.

So sorry to hear this...there were 6 of us ...my parents are still living...we lost my oldest sister Nancy in May of 2001, then in February 2015 my oldest brother, William then in September 2019 , my sister, Joyce who was 1 year older than me in ....on New Years Eve 2021...we lost our baby brother ...my next to oldest sister Marilyn is still living and of course myself ....life is so unpredictable and it is so difficult to swallow when you lose your siblings and we try to get together as much as possible and thank God for EVERYDAY we have with one another... Prayers to you and your family...take care of yourself and each other... remember Grief has no time limit. ...

I'm 66 now, I used to listen to this song in the morning radio on my way to school in 1969. When I got my first job in 1971, I bought the 33rpm album containing this song for $2 with my first paycheck. I still keep the album, 47 years later together with many other beautiful albums I bought at the time. This is timeless music.

Percy is a very emotional singer. You can't tell your story with more feeling than that. I have to listen to it over and over again and every time I get thirstier. I wish him a long life and many more performances.

I love that song so much. I could cry & cry. Back in 1974 it came out. Same year our son born. Better, we saw Percy Sledge concert in Toronto, out of many concerts. They don't make music like this anymore
