Their music is so prefect and pure. They took their Hispanic culture mixed w their Texas lifestyle and made it American. What great musicians they are! I'm so proud and fortunate to live in the greatest country in the world and to be the recipient of wonderful music.
@@4224400 : Please Google Flaco Jimenez and Freddy Fender and the Texas Tornadoes and you will be amazed at the talent of this group/singers. The Texas State Historical Association has a big write up on Freddie Fender and most surely probably on the other members of Texas Tornadoes.

Perfection!! Oh My Goodness...... this music will live on forever! Our holidays, birthday parties, or just sitting outside with the family, this music is always playing. Generation after generation, still going strong in my home 💪🏼♥️ May God Bless Everyone Of Them Always 🙏🏻✝️♥️
I grew up near San Antonio in the 90s. It was mostly Emilio, Selena, Mafia, Tropa F, Mazz, Palominos, etc etc. How did I miss out on Texas Tornados. This is great music and all I want to do now is drink beer and listen if these guys all day. Glad I’m connecting with this band now.
It's april 2024. No matter how many times I listen to this song. I never get tired of it. I love this song. Long live Texax and Mexicans music! ....from Fort Worth, Texas
Remembering EL Gran Tejano Mexicano , "Freddie Fender". May he Rest In Peace. I love his music. And many of his songs are classics. Also Lets no forget Flaco Jimenez and his accordion.. How can we forget our TexMex music! ...Orale!
I remember been little and telling dad that the texas music sucked and now every time i listen to the beautiful tex-mex specially the texas tornados and albert zamora it brings a big smile and a bigger one to my old man
Not south of the border. BBQ Calf heads have always been popular from Harlingen to San Antonio. My family would buy several pit cooked heads in San Jose, CA, back in the '50's. Our large family would gather at my Grandmother's house and have a feast/party. Love you Freddie.
I still remember my parents listening to Flaco when I was a kid, Now I play this for my kids they don’t understand but some day they will and will be playing this when they have kids
Doug Sahm great voice. He also wrote the Song " mendocino " in germany very successful as a dance hit since 1969. The german singer was Michael holm, also a great Star as a komponist.
This music is very similar to Polish Music. Polkas and ballads which I listened to when I was a young boy. When the families got together on Sundays it was party time. And the turntable was spinning and the feet were stomping. The good old days.
Growing up, the best time of the year to be from Pecos, TX was the 4th of July. It was rodeo time, huge mesquite pits were smoking sides of beef, the cantaloupe were starting to ripen, and there were street dances everywhere! We would kick it off with a parade and “Old Pecos Week” when you could actually get arrested for not wearing western wear or at least your official Law West of the Pecos badge. The different cultures merged together in that week more than ever and the whole town was full of great food and music. The last time I was home for the Fourth I was driving through town and could hear the music pumping from the city limits. It was coming from a gooseneck trailer bandstand with a Mariachi band in FULL regalia belting out “Streets of Bakersfield” in both Spanish and English. As I stood there listening to the music I heard an ear piercing “AHHH HAHA” and here comes an old vaquero with a Budweiser in one hand and a woman in a Dolly Parton wig in the other. He was spinning her so fast I just knew she was going to lose that wig, but she held on tight and danced her heart out. I actually cried a tear of happiness because that’s when I knew I was home after so many years. Listening to the Texas Tornadoes always takes me back to that great time in life, and for that I am grateful

I think it was the German influence in Texas. Like in Fredericksburg TX, and the German style Luckenbach dance hall.
