- The Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo could be a big hit with businesses due to its cool design. Besides the looks, it gets a 77kWh battery and up to a 425-kilometre driving range. While it has a smaller payload than other rivals, it is one of the most refined vans to driver.

@7:44 The 650kg payload capacity IS a deal killer, however. Most people get a van to HAUL heavy things around, not to use as a commuter vehicle. Most contractors can carry 650kg in tools and equipment alone in their vans.
Yes, and this is one of the big limitations with this vehicle.
Still waiting on the CAMPER VAN version of this :)
Us too!
260 mile range for a £50000 van is a joke. And that’s unloaded! Anything less than 300 miles at that price point is bananas. All that space surely you’d think they could have fit a larger battery. You’re paying a huge premium for the looks and sacrificing massively on range with this thing.
To be fair this seems to be the best range and charging speed combo available on a commercial electric van in Europe at the moment. Closest competitor looks like the Citroen e-Dispatch, which has a top spec with 50 miles less range and 10k-5k less in price depending on which buzz spec you compare to. But the buzz cargo capacity is way worse (probably because of the batteries!).
Not bad but ranges usually halve fully loaded.. ..
Any example of a less expensive cargo can with more range?
More range would be great but this is currently the best range mid size van on the market at any price
@@zzebedee1419 the best in what regard? Looks? Yeah ok. It’s a pity people even consider this thing at this price point. Not hard to see how we have rampant inflation.
Can the bulkhead be removed?
Checkout videos by Björn Nyland for range and charging. He has done range test with and without trailer. Buzz also charges faster than VW claims. He recorded more than 180kW.
Thanks for watching!
I can't see that being a joiner's van for myself. Doubt it would take a sheet of plywood diagonally. Payload would be approached too often and probably exceeded. Does it take a roof rack? Even if it could work, if i leased it, it would be a state after two years! Range would work fine for me, I don't like driving too far for jobs.
It is a fairly limited van in its current state. Volkswagen may launch a longer wheelbase version when the larger battery comes on stream.
I am still missing the small overlap crash test!
Where abouts in the world are you?
Lots of cheap plastic, high electricity consumption, lots of software problems and way too expensive. Nein danke!
It's a limited van in this guise. Pity.
The Canoo is a lot more interesting. from the inside, the ID buzz looks like a very boring mini van. This is very different from its concept vehicle. So dissapointing.
The Canoo looks super cool
Just dont get this "van" just too small for a commercial vehicle, still want one but just not big enough.
It will suit some people, but even then it remains quite expensive compared to other options.

Steering wheels on the wrong side an my wife charges from 0-100kph in a second like a rhino if you don’t listen till her. I’ll stick to red diesel far cheaper
Wheel comes on both sides! : )
