Thanks a lot for introducing me to Matter, I find myself reading a lot more articles using the read to me feature love it, I also like the In Progress feature, that helped me read an article and come to pick up where I left and with a progress of how I much I finished I love this, all the best to you mate, and stay strong!
The audio highlight is ingenious!!! I hope they somehow manage to keep this app free (through ads maybe). Thank you Shu for the thorough review! You got yourself a new subscriber :)
Great video! I used Matter while it was in beta - it was super useful when turning articles into audio to listen in the car. Seeing this makes me want to use it more again haha Question: do you use the social aspect a lot? I understand the community implication behind it, but I don’t see myself using it so much…maybe I’ll get more value if I follow more people on the app though
I can be a distraction indeed. But I also came across lots of great essays and articles thanks to that social aspect. So it really depends on how you use it
i have to thank you for introducing me to this app. i finally started using it and it's just been amazing. you've always got fantastic content. much appreciated!
I don't see an export option to plain text or Markdown at the moment, but if you use Readwise, you can get the highlights as Markdown into Markdown based note-apps like Obsidian and Logseq
Matter is nice but there’s something about it that sort of feels half-baked and I’m not really into the social aspect of it. Personally, I’m waiting for Readwise’s reader app.
Great question! I'm actually trying to figure out the process myself. Currently, I save articles to Matter -> read them, -> save the only ones I like to Raindrop so I can access them quickly later. So, Matter is a reader and Raindrop is a storage. It feels a bit too much though😅
@@ShuOmi_Official thank you so much for reply😻 I see! I’m in love with Matter, but it seems buggy with Japanese articles😭 Anyway thank you!! And when you find perfect workflow, I’d like to see a video!!

Thank you so much Sina! Appreciate your kind words 😁

Looks like a perfect app for those who want to be constantly distracted by "social aspect".

🤔 hmm that option to easily save a Twitter thread might convince me but I am also waiting for the readwise app before I make the jump from pocket.
Smart! I’m excited to try the Readwise app too

@@Randy-BBMM we watch so many ads in youtube, if we want to remove it we need to pay some bucks
Awesome video, great production quality, I really like you style so calm and so informative, all the best to you mate, stay strong!
Thank you so much!!
Matter has so much potential. Looking forward to its growth. I'm still hesitant to move everything there currently
amazing app !! thank you for sharing , by the way what kind of browser you're using In the vid looks neat.
All these apps look great but they rarely have an Android version which is sad.
I’ve never heard of this app! It looks great
It's so good!
Amazing information. Thanks for this Shu Omi! ;)
Glad it was helpful Etienne! ☺️
First time hearing about this app, it looks interesting. I want to try it!!
Yeah it’s great! Hope you’re enjoying it :)
Can the highlights be exported to plain text or Markdown?

@@ShuOmi_Official That should do it. Thank You!
Why are there so many apps now hahahaha... 😅
I know haha Can't even keep up with the new ones
@@ShuOmi_Official I’m struggling between the multiple apps here, pocket, instapaper, raindrop, matter, which should I use 😅
@@ShuOmi_Official Would you have any advice on using which app now? I use iPad and the apple ecosystem most likely.
Matter is nice but there’s something about it that sort of feels half-baked and I’m not really into the social aspect of it. Personally, I’m waiting for Readwise’s reader app.
Will it be the Idea Storage instead of Raindrop/Walling?
Could be! But I prefer to use Raindrop for idea storage because it has integration with Alfred and gets you permanent copies of web pages
So the direct social aspect is now - ish, an evolution of Goodreads, as you're a fan of Charles Grier Sellers , right, works well, it would seem.
Hi! Thank you for amazing video!!!✨
One question. What is your workflow to use Matter with Raindrop(or other Idea Storage app)??🤔 Thank you
Great question! I'm actually trying to figure out the process myself. Currently, I save articles to Matter -> read them, -> save the only ones I like to Raindrop so I can access them quickly later. So, Matter is a reader and Raindrop is a storage.

Do you think that Matter will ever support Android?
Is there a free alternative app? Matter has become a subscription app! :(
How is the sync with Roam/Readwise?
works the same as Instapaper!
Very good!
Is it still your favourite, or did WiseReads win?
you just reinvented twitter.
Thanks for your sharing.
My pleasure Ivan!
