I've got a 23 Rogue and love it. Of the 3 vehicle's its best by a mile. Set of Wranglers 265/65/18 biggest you can get, and yes, it slightly rubs on mud flap bolts. Straight through exhaust sounds nice, black windows and blue in colour. Ive never had a car where people come up, shit nice car mate..😂 wider track looks unreal and the carpet in tub i just love it. And im a Ford man, its better than my 22 next gen Ranger sport.

Imagine you are building up a Hilux in 2020 and you wanted to do all of the upgrades at your local custom engineering workshop. It would be a 30k investment. The rogue looks like a great investment to me. That’s why I ordered one.

Rouge over the sr5 ,wider track for better stability in high and low speed settings, rear disc brakes for better stopping especially when towing.
    10k well spent

@@tcmx712 would you say the Ranger Raptor is softly sprung for off-road? It completes it at 85-90 km/h, which is surprisingly faster than a Range Rover. Look up Hilux Moose test and you'll find some scary videos. Compare it to the PX Ranger and you'll see that all utes aren't created equal. I would think the wider track on the Rogue would help.

These are made for people who would rock up to job site and bark orders and leave.
They will never will have fuck all in the back of the ute.
Also having a roller shutter is useless as ute. You can fit fuck all in the back because anything slight taller wont fit with the roller door closed. Then if need a paller in the back the roller door is going to get in the way.

Had to go the SR5 for the extra cab $65k. I do get there’s not a huge market for the extra cab Ute but I do get a little annoyed the extra cab is being left behind when it comes to fancy extras. I’d love the wider stance and disc brakes on an extra cab. Or even the V6 engine in the Ranger in an extra cab.
But I’d rather throw the warranty out the window (I learnt with my lc200 Toyota warranty isn’t worth the conversation) and spend the extra money on some under bonnet upgrades, sound/usb/12v additions, interior upgrades, and maybe some wheels/suspension/flares/front bumper (rogue or gr) and paint protection and probably still come out with $$$ saved in the end.

Ronny the GR Sport also has vastly upgraded suspension too. I'm looking at replacing a 1997 TX Prado and the GR looks to have the edge, particularly for my off roading and towing a 19 foot off road caravan. You're usually concise and accurate, but you're well off the mark there.

Whatever your choice, the next model will have additional features and a higher price. In the end they will all get you from A to B, far too much emphasis is placed on, for the most part, useless features which have nothing to do with durability. Revive a basic solid axle, wind up windows, manual transmission workhorse at a price thats affordable, Im sold.
Infotainment systems, cruise control, cup holders, phone connectivity, etcetera, etcetera are all features, that I personally have little use for, and certainly don't care about what others think, in terms of status.

Maxxis Razr AT and Yokohama Geolandar.
      Maxxis Razr AT:
More offroad orientated with an agressive tread pattern.
      Built tough.
      Versatile on and off-road.
      Yokohama Geolandar:
Smooth on-road (tread pattern is oriented more towards comfort on tarmac).
      Great in wet conditions.
      Long-lasting.
Maxxis is great for trails and any type of offroad driving while also being fairly quiet and good on tarmac, Yokohama is perfect for city driving and a bit of offroading.

The brakes suck, especially now I have steal bullbar, sliders, UVP, Drawers, canopy, dual battery, etc. Looking for upgrades.
The leather seats are like milk crates with no support in the lumber or sides and hard as a rock.
Definitely needs more USB ports across all models, even my old Kia Cerato had 2.
The tailgate is heavy so like Ronny, I added gas struts and this is the best mod I've done on the car.
    Sound system sucks balls.
Offroad though (beach work) it's been great.

Just bough the 48V 2024 Rogue, GR Sport was a lot more by the time you got any type of tub cover and other stuff the rogue has standard , plus it doesn't look as good side by side especially in the rear. The front grill looks pretty cool however.
When it comes to the SR5, well the Rogues Brake upgrade, JBL system, Electric Roller Cover , Carpeted Tub, Upgraded Interior, Not just wider track but overall suspension setup, Colour choice, etc, Rogue comes out far better value.
I went to buy a GR Sport but came out with a Rogue 48V. A rogue with proper aftermarket suspension and a proper tune, some proper 17s and ATs and you have a weapon, but that's not the GR Sport. Discs all round (not horse and cart rear brakes) and the wider track front and rear plus the 25mm extra ground clearance. There's a $6,000 difference between the Cruiser and the standard SR5 here in Aotearoa and that was worth it just for the ride height and brakes, let alone the extra width and the improved suspension package. Is it worth it really? I'll let you know in 200,000 km.

If you reduce to 16 PSI and drive for a while on sand, the pressure in the tires is going to increase due to thermal expansion. There's some likelihood that you 've been driving with >> 20 PSI after a while. You might notice this when parking for a while and having more traction afterwards.
Why does Toyota ship with road tires? I bet it's because of consumption. They can't allow to lose 2l/100km for putting adequate tires.

What’s the transfer case gear ratio? And what size of ring and pinion do the diffs have?

Not every manufacturer fits road tyres, Jeep don't, would be interesting to see a Jeep JL review.

Why do Toyota not allow TC on the front when the rear diff is locked? That would make more sense of they don’t want to give us a front diff lock!

I kind of understand the whole stock test. But let be honest, barely any 4x4s are kept stock. Tyres are nearly the first change haha.

I don’t understand why Toyota doesn’t standardise the V6 across the entire range.
Crazy to think the new Mazda CX-60 has the choice of a straight 6 petrol and diesel with more power and torque than the hilux.

The GR Sport in my mind should come out with the V6, but no doubt it would tip the 90 to 100 grand mark which really is way, way to much to spend on a duel cab from the get go.

@@TheLukaszpg the shell and driveline would be nissan but the motor would be an fully built and boosted toyota FTE.. best of both worlds if you ask me. Nothing stronger than a patrol driveline and no better motor than the FTE. Probably still have a bit of change from 80k too lol
