  • Today Cool Classics takes a deep dive into the life Lisa Loring, who played Wednesday Addams on the 1964 TV Series, The Addams Family. Her childhood was not traditional by any means.
We take a look at her first Television appearance on Dr Kildare and the ones after The Addams Family. Such as the Phyllis Diller Show and The Girl From UNCLE
We look into all of her husbands, daughters and her work in the Adult Entertainment Industry.
Lisa had some serious hardships along the way, and I am glad that she is such a strong woman, to be able to overcome them.
I hope you enjoy this Biography and my other documentaries.

Yes, the Coogan Act made sure that in CA child actors had some rights. Unfortunately, this did not carry over to other states and there were loopholes, but God bless that man for taking his personal loss into a crusade to help other child actors. True legend.

Yes. Lisa Loring was the perfect Wednesday. But Christina Ricci from both "The Addams Family" (1991) and "Addams Family Values" (1993) was a fantastic Wednesday and Jenna Ortega from Netflix's "Wednesday" is a perfect reimagining of a TV classic.

Besides, Netflix's recent movie adaptation of "The Munsters" was so terrible that thankfully, it will NOT be remade as a series because it could NEVER be taken seriously.

Lisa was my First (She gave me a kiss on my cheek because I gave her a cookie from my lunch) Girlfriend at 7 years old. Her Name then was Lisa DeCinces. We both went to Dixie Canyon Elementary School. She would miss school sometimes, Because she would be schooled on the movie set. I went to her house a few times for birthday party’s and such. She lived on sunnyslope ave Sherman Oaks in the San Fernando and if I recall at the time her guardian was her Grandmother. Many years later I was working in a Nightclub called Sasch in Studio City when in walks this lady. She walked up to my section on the bar. Paused and said do I know you. She told me her name was Lisa loring. After short conversation she said oh my god did you go to Dixie Elementary school. We talked in between me serving people for about 30 minutes, she said She had a Crush on me in elementary school, then she left and I never saw her again. Last, what’s funny was I was just telling someone this same story a week ago.

Jackie Coogan was an army drinking buddy of one of my uncles . I heard that he got swindled out of his money working in the motion picture business by his parents. I fondly watched the Addams family when it first ran in the mid 1960's on a 1948 Black and White Zenith console television with a round picture tube. The next year my father purchased a 1965 Magnavox Color television console for the basement.

Family Affair. Watch an episode of Family Affair and you will see the same type of doorknob. It could've even been the same set they used for filming for all we know.
If you watch an episode of I Dream of Jeannie, where she's riding in a car through the neighborhood, you'll see Samantha and Darren's house from Bewitched.
Back then there was a studio "neighborhood" street to film on. I believe the Munsters house was there, as well, just farther out so as not to be seen unless it was actually needed.

Fantastic job with this minibio! Kudos!
I met Lisa when I was an editor for an entertainment magazine in So. Cal., 1986-87, and attended the VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association) convention in Las Vegas. As I was strolling through the booths on the "adult" side of the convention floor, I was magnetically drawn to a booth occupied by a stunning brunette.
We started chatting, and I asked her if she was in the (adult) business. She said, "No, but my husband is." Her husband, at that time, was the famous Jerry Butler. That was surprise Numero Uno. Then I asked if she had done any acting. Rather coyly, Lisa said, "I was a child actor on TV. Do you remember The Addams Family?" I stared ... then blurted: "Little Wednesday?" Lisa returned a bright smile, and I knew I'd nailed it.
Now, this wasn't any kind of news I could work into our magazine; however, over the years, it's made for what I think is a pretty good story -- one which I tell on a fairly regular basis.

Watching your coverage of Lisa's audition process for The Addams Family, I could see how she won the role. If you watch closely, you'll see her use that Hannibal Lecter expression which involves lowering the head slightly relative to the camera, and then looking up and straight at the viewer. The result is menacing, even coming from an 8-year-old.
Side note: In the dance scene with Lurch, I wonder if the director had originally planned to keep the camera on Lisa that long, because the scene extends past the point of necessity and seems to go on simply for the sheer joy of watching this little imp do her Swingin' Sixties thing.

At 2:12 the doorknob in the middle of the door. That was very LA. A neighbor in the 60's had door like that on her "Hollywood" house in suburban Stockton, CA. She was from LA and very glamorous. Her house also had a sunken "conversation pit", another must-have with the Hollywood set. She smoked Pall Malls and drank martinis and was the subject of gossip throughout the neighborhood.

The central door knob helps pull the door a little tighter so that the key can turn a little easier. "theatre movie"??? Dude it was a tv show in the 60s. There was no cable tv yet so people would gather around the ole' tube tv and watch funny shows. You had to be there when they came on or you were out of luck-no recording stuff for watching later. I grew up in the 70s so it was on tv all the time in reruns. It was a great show, they had a pet under the stairs that scared me every time the stairs lifted up-fog and growling etc. Uncle Fester was also always concocting stuff in his lab that would fail hysterically. Yeah they made a movie out of this tv show as well like everything else copied from my youth.
