For those wandering, the omtech spray is now $40
Great Video, I was just asked to do a job to engrave/Mark bottle openers made of brass. And I just purchased the OMTECH spray, which was half the price and bigger in size. So I will try this as well. Thanks for doing this, it was very helpful and gave me hope!!! Thanks Sir
I'm glad it was helpful to you. Good luck with your project!
@@LaserNoob Thanks
Fantastic video, just curious, have you tried it on any clear materials
I'm trying it on glass this weekend.
Interesting results. Great video. BTW, Omtech Black Laser Marking Spray link is showing Currently unavailable.
It is back in stocks now.
Thank's for letting me know.
There is a bottle of powder that you add alcohol to wet it and brush it on. I prefer the spray for an even coat but the I started with the bottle of powder and added camping fuel as that was the highest alcohol % I could find local to me.
I used my ortur 5.5w and neje 10w for the omtec spray and it works just fine. It last surprisingly a long time too.
Tempera paint ( kids finger paint) works on glass as well. Black paint for a white coat and white paint for a black finish coat.
What about all the scratches and the haze that’s left behind . That’s my problem is the scratch and haze
If you leave any medium on brass for too long, it will start to discolor it, or give it a haze. As far as scratches, that depends on the product used to clean. Microfiber cloths are best. With the omtech spray, it's simple water cleanup and dry with a microfiber. Melamine sponges are not recommended.
I looked up the price of raw molybdenum trioxide power, the main ingredient of laser marking spray, and it was $934.00 for 60 grams. : (
Dang. I'll stick to the spray. Lol
I thought you did a video using a board at an angle to get the best focus or something like that. Was that you?
Nope. Not me.
Why my Confederate Homie, would you be using those Commie numbers?? Crazy to see fine US citizens doing that. No offense just curious why people are laying down to that. I can use either but why would I, We use inches here in the US. As a CNC machinist in a pretty large Aircraft Manufacturing plant I never hear the word Milli Peter.
Only with lasers! Lol
@@LaserNoob OK, but I just can't make sense of it, I've been playing with a few lasers too in my shop but I use IPM. "Getter Done"
Only three countries use imperial: US, Myanmar and Liberia. Two of the 3 are dictatorships.
