Thanks for the update! Now I want to line all my dolls up by skin tone 😂 my poor Nicki though, her skin has gotten rather greyed over the years. She looks ashy even compared to my #20 who's 4 years older. I'm glad ag is expanding their skin tone range so much! As a kid the basic light, medium, dark was a bit limiting.
Thanks Chrissy! I do have a few greyed dolls as well, and it’s especially noticeable when you put them next to newer dolls. I even think my Julie has yellowed a bit.
Thank you so much! I was so hoping they would number them before I made this video but alas, they are either taking their time or not numbering them. Just watch, they will do it now that I’ve uploaded this 😂
This was a great video Evelyn! I truly appreciate all the work you put into doing this. You’ve inspired me to gather up all my dolls and organizing them by skin tone just so I get a better understanding of what’s in my own collection. Such a thing would be a multiple day dedicated project for me because I have over 100 dolls and like you work full-time, have an Etsy shop, I am an admin in a couple of Facebook groups and one has over 60,000 members, children, horses, and the list goes on. We all know it too well. Sometimes I don’t even know where I find the time to make videos, but like you, it is my passion, and even if I have to get up a couple hours early on the weekend or the weekdays before I go to work, I’m able to squeeze it in. I commend you for putting out videos that are so informational and enjoyable! Thank you so much! 🥰💐
Thanks, Jo! Wow - you certainly have a lot going on! It’s true though - you’ll find a way when you’re passionate about something, and I’m so proud of us for getting it all done. I have so much more of this series that I’m trying to get done but it is a lot of work and I just need to go at the pace I need to in order to avoid burnout.
I'm so confused because I've got a CYO with a VERY orangey skin tone and i can not for the life of me, figure out what # her color is supposed to be. I have twelve different CYO sitting in front of me, and i swear, even the ones who are supposed to be the same color- are very much NOT. Its so highly variable, even though all these dolls are fairly new.
The variance is wild! I’ve noticed it in the 10 tone dolls a lot, too. My Lila is much more yellow toned than other tone 10 dolls, for example. It makes me wonder if it varies from batch to batch and even sometimes doll to doll.
Wonderful update, Evelyn! I'm so glad you were able to complete your skin tone collection. :) Kaley rocks! And I love how you used "CAT" since AG still hasn't given the Disney girls skin tone numbers. Thanks for sharing this update!!
Thanks Beth! I kept waiting and waiting for them to update and number these tones. I almost wonder if they ever will. Either way, I’m glad to have all of them represented in my collection!
Thank you for the update! I wanted to ask you if you noticed on Cinderella Ariel and Tiana that their body cloth matches the skin tones they have better then the other dolls? I noticed it on mine. I hope you have a great day!❤️
Thanks Robin! I hope your day has been great ❤️ I did also notice that and appreciated it quite a bit. Jasmine is the same way. Randomly, my Costco 123 has a body that actually closely matches her skin tone better than any of my other tone 30 dolls. I hope this means they will match better in the future.
Thank you so much for these guides!! It’s so awesome that you’ve been able to put all this helpful info out there :) One comparison I was wondering about was Josefina’s, Kanani and Kaya’s skin tones-I’m looking to make a custom kanani mini doll and I’m wondering which doll is a closer match. Kanani is just listed as medium but she seems to be a lot more olive toned and darker than Josefina and I’m wondering if hers is actually closer to Kaya’s. Obviously there’s gonna be some difference between the mini and larger dolls but I was wondering what a good baseline match would be.
I’m so glad this was helpful! Kaya is much darker than Kanani and Josefina. She is in between medium and dark. My Josefina is less olive toned than my Kanani, mostly due to manufacturing date I would suspect. If you message me on IG, I can send you a comparison photo.
i’m so thankful for this video!! i’m curious, do you count the defect grey tone and kailey’s “orange?” skin? also i would LOVE if you ever made a video on all of the hair colors/eye colors/curl patterns/lengths. i know it’s a lot but those are my collection goals and it’s SO hard to find the hair color subtypes!!
Thank you! No, I don't count those as separate skin tones since they are not created on purpose. Variations also happen within the same skin tone as well. I will definitely make a video on those things in the future! I have so many plans.. and so little time ;)
I wouldn’t know exactly how to go about it, but that would be beautiful! I have seen some people pull it off and would love it if AG would make it as well.
Can I get a picture of your Lea, Julie, Truly Me 89, and Truly Me 108 standing next to each other? I need to compare those specific dolls before I decide to buying anything...
Isn't who you labeled as 109 actually 108? 109 has the 35 tone doesn't she?
Ooops, that’s right - I got their numbers mixed up. 109 does have the 35 tone. Thanks for pointing it out!
@@EvelynRoseAG No problem!

That is so kind of you to say - thank you! 🥰
That line up needs to be a poster. If you make them I'd love to buy one.
Aww, that’s so sweet! That would be a fun idea.
Love this guide as always. I keep waiting for them to number the new skin tones, get on it guys!

This is fantastic! Thank you for making an updated version!
Thanks Kyla! ❤️❤️

Which one would you consider to match lea?
Tone 20 :) although I will say my Lea leans quite a bit warmer than the current tone 20, but not as warm as 25.
Truly me 109 has 25 skin tone? Don't you mean truly me #108
Yes, I got the numbers confused ❤️
