I can’t believe they were only $1 each! What a great deal. I love both of those dolls. Fixing up dolls is so satisfying and I love watching other people do it too. Great job on Elizabeth’s hair! It looks like her pin curls must have been brushed into the rest of her hair? That happened to mine and I was able to pull them out. They are frizzy though. Sometimes people just cut them off. Can’t wait to see Blair’s makeover. 🤗
Nice job! I don't know if you've tried it but I've had really good success using a flat iron instead of the boil dunks, you have to make sure her hair is super wet and the flat iron should be on the lowest setting, going chunk by chunk like that really helps with frizzed ends
I haven’t thrifted an Elizabeth yet, but I can only imagine after fixing up thrifted Marie-Grace and Kaya! 😆 In MG’s case, I ended up completely re-wigging to get her more pristine. If you have a ceramic plated flat iron, that does the same as a boil wash, btw. Just keep the hair moist and the iron on low. Elizabeth looks so much better!

Yep that is how I started. I have always admire these dolls but could never get one due to family finances. As an adult now I was able to find some American girl minis and furniture but never a big doll until last year at goodwill for $5 and then just last week a wellie wishers for $3. Now I am hook on American Girl

I found a Corrine GOTY2022 at our thrift store for $3! she needs a little fixing but perfect for my 4 year old daughter’s first AG!
