I feel the same way about my 35th anniversary Josefina. My husband bought her for me for my birthday so I feel like I can’t just sell her yk? I found a really pretty Josefina for a really good price on Facebook after I already had my 35A Josefina, and I really regret not buying her. She was almost a glam last Josefina too. 😭

You’re correct that Josefina has always had a chopped off braid, lol. I got mine for Christmas in 1997 and hers in the same way. I like to put her hair in two braids, and the sections from the back run out and force me to tie off the braids a lot sooner than I want to. I got her when I was 11 and already growing out of dolls, because at the time it was not cool to be in middle school still playing with dolls (🙄). I don’t think I read past her first book back then, but I read her series a couple years ago when I got back into collecting and she became a favorite. She’s such a sweet girl and I love her big family, I really recommend her books. I’m sorry yours is not the Josefina of your dreams, I hope you’re able to find one who is!

Sell her and get a 1997 Josefina. I paid about the same price for mine (mint with box) as a brand new AG one. They look completely different. 97’s have a very different head shape, rosey lip coloring, and their hair frames their face instead of being snatched back. The eyebrow placement is better too, which might help your concern. The current Josefina is still gorgeous, but she looks like a Mattel AG doll dressed as Josefina IMO. If you want the best, get a 97. She’ll look like the doll you used to dream of from the catalog. Josefina is way too good of a doll to not have one you obsess over. I promise you’ll be happier with a Pleasant Company one.

Excellent pronunciation of all the Spanish words. I bought the 35th Anniversary Josefina back in 2021 and her braid had so many flyaways so I took out her braid. Ever since then I was not happy with my Josefina so I decided to make the 3 hour trip to the American Girl Nashville to hand pick one out. None of them had perfect braids but I managed to get one with a really good face and decent braid. I cut all the flyways since I am leaving the braid in. I noticed that the eyebrows on the new Josefina are darker which I really like.

I'm sorry to hear that you were a bit disappointed with Josefina. Personally, I think she's an absolutely stunning & very beautiful cultural doll. P.S. I really enjoyed the music you played while changing the doll's outfit - very fitting to the culture.

Oh wow this must have taken so long to put together! I haven't done thus with my ag dolls, but I fo keep running lists of my barbies and man is it a lot of work to keep up with identifying them all and then listing their new names once I officially name them! Idk how you managed to keep all this straight to be able to make guides and spreadsheets, my brain would have fried 😂 anyway this will be really cool to see the stats on my ag collection as it grows. Also congratulations on your new puppy! He's absolutely adorable! 😍 and I hope your husband recovers soon!

i’m so thankful for this video!! i’m curious, do you count the defect grey tone and kailey’s “orange?” skin? also i would LOVE if you ever made a video on all of the hair colors/eye colors/curl patterns/lengths. i know it’s a lot but those are my collection goals and it’s SO hard to find the hair color subtypes!!

Nice video! To be completely honest, I actually like her work dress better than the dress she came in. When you first began painting her lips, I was a bit worried. However, she does look much better - her beautiful facial features are even more defined now without being too much. Thank You for this lovely video. She's absolutely gorgeous!

So it took until 2018 to produce more skin tones? 🙄 Why I never purchased this doll for my daughter. This company was literally tone deaf.

I've seen people being able to remove wigs off of older dolls without using nail polish remover.

Has anybody ever used goo-gone for removing the dolls wig or something similar to get the wig off

This is super helpful! Im currently saving up for my first custom project, and it’s going to require re-wigging the doll because AG doesn’t make dolls with the right skintone and hair color for what i have in mind 😭
