Thanks for sharing!! I just bought my first Subaru yesterday after many years of wanting one :D I am digging through the service manuals and getting ready to do all the fluid maintenance. Your video is very insightful and entertaining.
Love it you did absolutely everything right! Can you do the same for the jeep 4.0 L please! I know you got one and I would love to learn what to do and what not to do I’ve heard of tails to never change the transmission oil on them
My Toyota calls for 75W. I used 80W90 the last two times. It works as well, if not better. The 75W is ungodly expensive and completely pointless in Florida.
hi , i know that same sitation happened to 90% of the drivers ,never changed manual trans oil , but except knowing that you have new gold fancy oil in your Transmission ,car you Really but..... REALLY feel the diference except knowing on behind of your brain thats is new and now "must be better" ?
Yea bud :-) just a joke. I actually run without engine oil to achieve desired MPG. You can also remove one of you wheels. Less contact with the road is less resistance. 👌
Is there a specific reason not to use limited slip gear oil? Just asking as that's what I have on hand. If there is a reason I will go pick up some fresh gear oil before the crush washer gets here.
NEVER! They are both getting work done to them and will be out to play this summer. I like to keep a Subaru Wagon as a beater/daily driver/ MPG Monster for those "between pay day" weeks ;-)
My wife’s 2017 Seat Arona “apparently” never needs a gearbox oil change. Seat reckons it’s sealed for life 😂😂 I’ve just changed it at 30,000 miles and will change it at 60,000 👍 Never watched your channel and like your style of vids 👍

Hey man, thanks for the video! Been looking for this for a minute. Everyone drives the automatics
Haha Subaru just quoted me $695 to do this. Good thing I checked youtube will definitely be doing this myself. 👍
It is crazy easy bud. If you have everything lined up it is a 10 minute job. Isn’t even a filter to mess with!
Lol what!? $695???
@@DEInTheGarage ... I'll budget 30 minutes because things take me 3x longer than average/actual. and I found it easier to use ramps (6.5" lift)
Good to see still doing some vids. Been missing you guys! I see no more Dakota in the mix. I seen the comment on the WJ's.

Beautiful gen 3 outback. My favorite years.👌💯

that "r-u-n-n-o-f-t" comment had me laughing longer than it should have
I have been dropping that one in videos for a while now and you are the first one to mention it. I assume O Brother was more popular. haha
Great content and info. I have the 08 outback 2.5 5MT. So the front dif/trans does NOT take limited slip but the rear dif does?

Similar procedure for 2000 5-speed Outback???
Having a tough time finding the right gasket for my Manual Transmission 2003 Subaru Outback Legacy.
At 1:45 , did you really said you run your transmission empty for better millage ? Was it a joke ? :'D

@@DEInTheGarage hahaha, alright sorry I did get your joke in the first place 😅, I tough you where crazy for a moment 😅
Good to know but noticed left headlight was out.
Thanks bud! I will get that fixed right up
@@DEInTheGarage you're welcome
Awesome

It has additive which changes the characteristics of the fluid. You are best off sticking with regular gear oil for a Manila transmission
Because most LS additives are harsh on yellow metals and will mess your synchros up. Only use LS in the rear diff.
Got rid of your WJs?

Why not use synchromesh fluid
Doug, do you happen to know if a 2016 Impreza 5mt would have the same transmission?

Anyone find a substitute for T70 torques bit?
Whatever the manufacturer calls for as far as oil goes anything else is wasting your money unless it gives you peace of mind
picked up the T70 at my local advanced auto for $10 believe it or not
Mine was dark after 30k 😮
