    I just took an oscillating tool and cut the part of the floor board that was blocking the filter and made this whole process much much easier. I don't have to take any thing apart.

    I love how manufacturers sell the complete oil change kits. They are super handy and make regular maintenance much easier.

    Just changed my filter without taking ANYTHING apart. It’s easy , just pull the footboard plastic out (slightly) and everything comes out , and goes together again without any issues.

      Is there room to tighten all the bolts on the oil filter cover if I just pull it out?

      Did mine yesterday trhe same. 5 minute job. Just use an 8mm socket instead of the torx on filter housing bolts. The plastic is plenty flexible enough. I guess if doing it somewhere cold it may help to warm it up a little before bending though.

    I have owned Can am for years and you only have to remove the plastic that is closest to the engine under the right front wheel well. This was a standard process on Can Am and Suzuki. The only difference between these two units is the Can Am is a paper filter and Suzuki a regular hard cased filter.

    Do not remove panels or cut the plastic. Just pull it away and remove filter then pull away and insert new filter. I just did it on my 21 450 outlander

      From the Outlander forum:
      1 - Turn ignition ON but don't start the quad.
      2 - You HAVE to be on the ODOMETER (total quad mileage) display.
      3 - Put HIGH BEAMS ON. (You must start the procedure from HI BEAMS)
      3 - Press and HOLD the SET button.
      4 - Toggle HI - LOW three times WITHIN 2 SECONDS.
      5 - Release SET button.
      6 - Turn ignition OFF and wait until the dash goes dark.
      7 - Turn ignition back ON, VOILA! MESSAGE GONE

  • @Tom-ej8bb
    @Tom-ej8bb ปีที่แล้ว

    Check it closer.. Yes the manual says to remove floor board. Once removing panels you will see with little effort you can get the filter off and the floor board doesn't have to be removed. The floor board is an absolute pain! Each end has a torx screw and wedges into the floor board so don't break plastic in frustration. TY
