The display unit at my Costco warehouse where i work is plugged in all day and all night and it's always on highest setting (no other setting). I touched at the back and the grill and it's not hot at all. Exactly the use case for such a heater is for personal, direct heating. One example is you may just want to sit on your porch with this heater. Or in your garage workshop.
I love them, they are excellent. I don't need the whole room or house heated full blast. I use this on HALF (medium) setting at night. I turn it on via Alexa voice control when I need it. Works great.
This thing is buzzing after 2 years consistently after 5 min on high medium or high heat.. , videos are saying it’s because it needs cleaning dust on the inside. I’m trying to figure out how to clean it , cause u can take the shield off.. ( however when I first bought it , it put out great heat! )
I bought a couple several years ago and they would heat up right away. Also, only the back was noticeably hot to the touch, but not enough to leave a mark. They’ve both finally stopped working, but I don’t think I will be replacing it with a newer model, based on this review.
I have this heater and as soon as I turn it on it begins to heat. I’ve never waited for it to ‘warm’ up. I’m wondering if yours is defective. It keeps a room at an even 68 degrees all night set on low. Perfect for the room you want a little warmer through the night.

White noise !! I love it
Will it automatically shut off once it reaches the temperature you set in?
I would say the benefit this heater is how quiet it is compared to the $50 lasko heater you reviewed.

I’ve had the complete opposite experience. Bought mine 3-4 years ago and it works well. Don’t have a heating issue on the back as you described

I saw this heater at a garage and it works well. It took less then 3 and a half min to warm up. Good winter option

This thing is excellent.....I point it on myself at night on HALF power and it warms me up....saving me a lot of energy costs
It works great! I feel it does exactly what it does! Just people being picky but it works well just operator error!
Buy one! They're great. They don't heat up air. Radiant heaters heat up things, like you.
