I use this on the patio in cold weather while smoking a cigar and relaxing. It produces a lot of directed heat for 120v. You’re only going to get about 1000 watts heat out of this thing but it’s directed heat. I usually turn it way down because it will be too hot.
This is an infrared, directional heater. It warms the objects that it's aimed at. It doesn't heat the air (per se). And they do give instant heat when you turn it on. But again, not a 'space-heater'. It's great for chilly areas where people/pets are hanging out. And it definitely uses 1/3 less electricity than a space heater, while feeling 3 times warmer. It's only 1000 watts.

These can heat a small room within a few hours. 10x13 room for an idea. They can burn your skin if too close!
