He has to cut spending or he will lose hundreds of millions or billions per year after spending 44 billion on it. Twitter was doing just fine before operationally speaking. They had a trailing PE of 22 so they were comfortably supporting their headcount. Reality is the business case for Twitter has completely changed because revenue has plummeted with no one wanting to advertise on Elon's platform.
