Personally I wouldn't really touch the part damage swords. They're actually really useful early game when needing to grind for behemoth parts. They aren't necessary ofc but they will actually save you some time creating a part damage build early on.
Neutral needs a legendary behemoth that floats damage between or combines all of the elements in its attacks. If you look at the neutral weapons they have no weakness or disadvantages to any element. I'll bet if they made it an escalation & did it right the behemoth would be a beast.
I actually really like the Embermane sword mainly because of its cell disposition. The "5th attack does more part damage" definetly doesn't hurt, but I've been maining Repeaters for a long time in the past and took Sword up next. Embermane was the one that sparked my interest. I might be able to re-work my current build to suit the Hellion sword, but right now I'll gladly take Embermane's over others. TL;DR: cell disposition is a bigger factor for me than unique effects.
Remember when Everyone was using that sword cause it was an EXOTIC weapon. Kinda like the Exotic Shrowd Helm, pretty pointless if your just gonna get downed regardless lol. That helm is basically a rookie, crutch helm for people who go down a lot. But then you re-read the description again "Upon first Death..."
I think the Storm sword is one of the best, energized for the sword you can use so often and it's very useful in escalation just like the stormclaw axe
If you're fighting blaze behemoths I'd say yes. Otherwise it's depends. I think that Boreus sword is much easier to make the most use out of compared to thrax/hellion. All three of them are pretty close though so it's kind of a preference thing when there's no elemental advantage involved.
Pretty good list, hard to argue with... One Sword I think is pretty strong is the storm sword, you can pretty much keep it permanently in Avenging Overdrive now running +6 Energized and the unique effect, plus if you bond it to Cyclonic Fury you have a lot of cell flexibility. That means crazy damage is possible in that particular configuration, but I get why you scored it that way, since its a specific build.
As someone making meme builds for every sword, i completely agree with this list. Especially the pangar sword as it has a cool ability but most hunts end before it trigger a second time.
Imo embermane has a good use in part farm and i feel that moves it up a notch. I totally agree with the rest thx for another helpful vid. Signed Conroe, Tejas lol
He said in one video (i think its the blaze esca with revvy) it's still the worst sword in the game xD No unique effect and its special is not that good. It gives you decent lifesteal and little more dmg but at the cost of rAPIDLY DRAINING YOUR HP lol. So yeah, Valiant Overdrive is still better than The Hunger's imo.
It would be sick if Nesca was a different kind of escalation, with the boss being a sentient suit of armor that wields a sword, of course the sword you’d build with its parts would be the decked out recruit sword.
Wait, how did I not know about some of these unique effects? Did I literally never look at charrogg's sword description or even use it? I think I need to go look at my weapons skills more closely, I would have loved that skill before I cared about endgame dps stuff...
Wow, I've never had a comment hearted before, thank you for all the help your videos have provided since I started watching them. I'm still working on trying to get top 100, but I'm sure when I do it will be because of one of your builds!
I’m kinda new to the game, so if this is a dumb question sorry. Anyway, I shouldn’t go for a weapon just for the elemental effect? Does it just not give enough of a bonus to damage or what? And should you ignore the elemental type for armor too?
I want there to be other games I can actually get into. My eyes are set on GodFall, I might mess around in Apex for season 5, Hyper Scape. I'll test the waters and see what goes down. It means a lot that you want to see me cover more than just dauntless content, thanks for that!

I was thinking that they should make a recruit progression like the have the other weapons and then in order to get level the recruit you need like, sword exp. and mats and then prestige to level 15 and at level 15 it becomes a master's Sword or Grand Hunter, or Behemoth Hunter. well you get the point, And then you have to get certain materials to get the Cells, and go to the guy to fuse a lvl 1 cell with the weapon. same thing for the armor. so no material upgrades still the exp. it met.
So, if i had the option, would i choose legendary swords over the Dummy Thicc Damage swords? for example, Targadaros sword. Would it be better to use that instead of boreus?
I did not see The Hunger unless I missed it. That should be a Legendary because of the effect. When I started playing awhile back the chain blades were my go to. Then I moved onto the repeaters which are great as well. When the strikers came out, I have been all about them until recently I switched to The Hunger and I am loving the lifesteal it is great!

I'm not sure what you mean unless you saw it in umbral escalation? There is a new amp called Radiant Form that makes you glow when using your lantern tap (it also does some useful stuff but who cares^^)
Tbh, I would put Shrike sword in meh, since its UE sorta synergizes with its cell. So, if you can just dodge all attacks, the damage will keep 'stacking'. 🤔
I wouldn't say Valomyr neccessarily needs a rework, it just doesn't work well with the current low health meta. Just give it a patch or two until they nerf the likes of discipline, wild frenzy, rage or iceborne (or another powerful cell effect that rewards you for remaining at full health) and suddenly Valomyr becomes pretty decent again. Like, imagine Patch 1.4 comes out and they nerf wild frenzy and rage both by 10% at max level and at the same time the new Keystone Behemoth from the terra escalation has an effect that gives you a crit chance depending on how much health you have and also lets you gain more meter at full health.
I'd say for Kharabak, they could just take the same effect as they have on the axe: Stronger combo finishers. I mean, those are much more important with the sword now anyways, might as well buff them.
My charnog sword is +6 i tested the passive with a decent build i made and on the 1st hit it did 2k-3k if they could change how the passive works it can be way better
I bonded the +6 charnog sword with a +15 cauterizer and a drask lantern i did 4.5k and the hold turned it into 5.9k i tried again with avgening overdrive it did 6.3k with the hold it turned into 7.7k ( note: i used 1 heavy attack. if you would use blade rush it would go up to maybe 8-9k dmg with just 1 hit. I was in training ground so no frenzy potions).
I know it's a longshot, but I'd love for the next new weapon to be wound based like pike. Pike is fun and all, but wound in general seems super under used as a mechanic what with only 1 weapon having wound damage as base. Anyone else??
