I grew up on the island and have never ate this. Pero cada pueblo tiene cosas que los distingue y difiere uno del otro. Dónde yo me crié la gente comía empanadas de pizza, carne o pollo (bueno les decíamos tacos más bien 🤔) con un icee/freeze al medio día. Especialmente los viernes cuándo daban raviolis en el comedor. 🤣 Extraño la comida gratis del comedor.

Man there’s a fritura kiosk on the main road to my mom’s house and everytime I’m back on the island, I hit that place up for a cheese dog, a yuca alcapurria and a malta india. I get it 2-3 times during that week. Such a staple.

We have that in DR Gadiel, we call it "Violao" but not always have cheese. We do it with bread and pizza dough and baked.

Grew up in Puerto Rico. Spent all of my grade school years in Puerto Rico and never heard of a cheese dog. Maybe is a regional thing. My friend who’s from Naranjito grew up eating pastelitos de arroz and never heard of them until she told me about it.

So when I was in elementary there was a colmado right across the road and since we couldn't cross we would yell Maria trae los dulces or chisdog and she would cross and get what we wanted
I roll up my hot dog in a corn tortilla with cheese and fry it in a little bit of oil till the corn tortilla gets crunchy and the cheese melts on inside side. My version of mexican corn dog with cheese . And ive done the empanada one as well .
