    Foreigner
I thought I knew you well
But all this time I could never tell
    I let you get away
Haunts me every night and every day
    You were the only one
The only friend that I counted on
How could I watch you walk away?
I'd give anything to have you here today
But now I stand alone with my pride
And dream that you're still by my side
    But that was yesterday
I had the world in my hands
But it's not the end of my world
It's just a slight change of plans
That was yesterday but today life goes on
    No more hiding in yesterday
    'Cause yesterday's gone, ooh-ooh-ooh
Love, my love I gave it all
Thought I saw the light when I heard you call
Life that we both could share
Has deserted me, left me in despair
But now I stand alone with my pride
Fighting back the tears I never let myself cry
    But that was yesterday
Love was torn from my hands
But it's not the end of my world
It's just a little hard to understand
    That was yesterday
    But today life goes on
You won't find me in yesterday's world
    Now yesterday's gone
    Goodbye yesterday
    Now it's over and done
Still I hope somewhere deep in your heart
    Yesterday will live on, ooh-ooh-ooh

Tommy Shaw was plastered on my walls when I was in junior high. I remember staying up late to watch them on the Midnight Special. When Paradise came out I was too young to go. I tried everything. My older brother went but he was 7 years older. I had to wait until Mr. Roboto to see them. Not the same. Too much theatrics. Not enuff rocking. Disappointed. Saw them several years later and they rocked again without Dennis DeYoung. He started out cool but then he went cheesey Broadway wannabe.

That's no lie. I hate watching interviews with him. He's so whiny and put upon. His direction was turning the band into musical theater. Not that I dislike musical theater but I happen to like rock and roll more. Dont become bitter because you changed your mind about being a rock star. They didnt betray him just because they didnt see his vision.

A black group with similar album sales success would be in the Hall already. Shameful

Keyboards will always be Dennis DeYoung. DeYoung was a founding member of STYX, along with brothers Chuck (bass) and John Panozzo (drums), and James Young (guitar) Tommy Shaw joined in 1975-76 timeframe. Those are the 5 who need to be sworn into the Hall of Fame

Too fast, they need to slow it down and put the dotted 8th notes where they go. Tis another reason I have no desire to see bands live, they always fuck their songs up
