Popular Vodka Brands Ranked From Worst To Best

  • Vodka is a must-have for any well-stocked home bar. It's the base of any number of classic cocktails, especially the lighter ones that are best for a balmy summer night. Part of why it's so popular and versatile is that it's all but flavorless. That is, unless it's flavored. Or, well, bad.
Look in the vodka section of your local liquor store and you'll find vodkas that are wildly divergent in terms of quality and price. And the expensive ones aren't always the best, either. The best vodkas are smooth, crisp and delicious. The bad ones? They might as well be paint thinner. Don't try to guess which is which. Here are popular vodka brands ranked worst to best.

There are two types of vodka in the market. First one is the neutral spirit with no taste, which is popular in markets where vodka is not traditional. Second one is traditional, which is preferred in places like Poland or Russia, where the taste of grain (or potato) should be there. An average US consumer would normally consider the traditional kind of vodka somewhat harsh in taste and smell.

If you can find it try ''Nemiroff'' peppered vodka . Vodka with chilis and honey in it . They also make another with cranberry juice but its a bit sweet for my taste , the birch flavoured one is nice as well , Currently haver a Ukrainian vodka , ''Hlibny Dar'' , 1.75 litres for about $14 . You are probably thinking is garbage at that price but its smoother than Smirnoff

I completely agree with Grey Goose being too expensive at the $60 dollar price point.... but two things
    1) I find it for $40 for a HANDLE size at Total Wine now. Much better price,
    2) It does not deserve the rampant hate it gets. It's a smooth Vodka.
It's not my favorite, but it's for sure in the rotation. Favorite is Stoli Elit!

Tito's and Tonic, Tito's and Citrus Soda, Tito's Cosmos, Tito's Dirty and Clean Martini's...it's all just amazing. BTW, if you want a GREAT Vanilla Vodka, just get some quality vanilla extract, and mix to taste...it's amazing. Don't knock the Kirkland Signature American vodka. The taste and quality are on par with Absolut, but at half the price. Here in western Washington, at the nearest booze emporium you can expect to pay $28 for a 1.75l bottle of Absolut, and that's before sales tax and state liquor tax, which run the price up to $43. The KS American is $22 for a 1.75l *AFTER* sales and state liquor taxes. That's a pretty screaming deal.
