fireball and southern comfort were my go-tos as a teen. can't stand even the thought of drinking them now, too many upset stomachs and memories of gut rot. it was fun while it lasted, though!

Around 2015 I was introduced to fireball at the grocery store. They were offering free shots and 50 percent off per bottle. It also doubles as a great cough syrup.
That is usually when I drink it most. I just downed a whole bottle this past week cause I had a sore throat. Seems to work most of the time.

Small bottles (in a big jar by the registers) and 6 packs of this stuff popped up in every gas station and store in my area maybe around a year or so ago... Idk why but that surprised me

@@Wickedstickyflowers yep I actually just found this out. The difference is the malt based will just be called cinnamon, not cinnamon whiskey. Tastes similar but once I found out it killed my interest immediately. Sucks because my states alcohol laws are super strict so at certain times of the day it’s all that’s available.

I worked at a Sazerac that made/ packaged fireball, crazy how many little shot bottles they throw away. Tons of times we'd pour out hundreds of bottles of all different types of alcohol. Goldslager, 99 vodka, etc.

@@cassidyarrington4572 Either over proof, out of date, or damaged/ messed up labels. At least with the fire ball, supposedly for them to make it is dirt cheap, so to take the time to re-bottle or re-label them cost wise it's cheaper to throw away, and just make more. The building I worked in was an old Pillsbury building in Indiana. I eventually left and became a truck driver. I regularly take loads to and from that Sazerac. They even outsource packaging to a company in Tennessee (about 3 hours away). If I'm not mistaken the "party buckets" and a few other items are packaged at that facility. So essentially I'd pick up a load of fireball from Indiana, drive it to Tennessee, then they'd re-load me with re-packaged products for me to just take back there again lol. I also regularly pick up loads for Jim beam, and Sazeracs other locations in Owensboro, Kentucky, and Buffalo trace in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Same at Ole smokey moonshine..never thought I'd squeegee hundreds of gallons.🙃

I got sick before the pandemic and multiple people recommended hot tea with ginger and shot of fireball mixed. I literally coughed up every bit of the cold the next morning. Omg.

Yeah well I’ve been getting sinus infections for 33 years and whether I take a shot of tequila, whiskey, or eat hot sauce I cough it up. Fireball belongs in the trash.
This is true...ethanol, in some people, has a therapeutic effect, and is effective in checking the spread of cold, flu, and some say COVID, germs. I guess in a way it may be slightly effective...hence it is an ingredient in many sanitizers. When I feel a cold, sore throat, and nasal irritation coming on..I drink a hot tea mixture with lemon and honey and a hefty dose of bourbon. I also use it as a gargle solution much to the chagrin of wifey-pooh.
The sugar in it will give you a bad hangover
The only reason I tried fireball was because I was growing up in the 50's and 60's and fireball candy was very popular. They gave us kids these hard cinnamon ball candies which tastes like the booze now. If those marbles they gave us along with jaw breakers didn't kill us from choking i'm not worried about a couple of shots .HaHa Anybody remember that.

I brought a bottle of Fireball to Thailand with me back in 2018. I made some really good friends that day. The Canadians I befriended were the most ecstatic to see the bottle of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky 🔥

For me, the novelty lasted exactly one bottle. By then I was over it. And have never desired to go back.
Same with peppermint schnapps.

first started drinking fireball in about 1998 (yes I'm from Canada) WAYYYYYYY before anyone ever even seen a bottle of it, let alone heard of it. Its great and I will give you a tip: if you ever do want to mix it for some reason, the BEST mix you could ever try is with Dr. Pepper. even if you don't like Dr. Pepper, the mix of the flavors are amazing together
While I'm sure that's great, I respectfully disagree. I mix it 50 / 50 with Evan Williams straight Kentucky bourbon. Basically, I'm cutting the whiskey. The Fireball flavor is actually better to me when it's not so sweet.

@@angelskyy6574 tried with Cola before, and Root Beer, but still not as good as Dr. Pepper. Most people are VERY apprehensive about it, especially those that don't drink Dr. Pepper but once they try it... :) Let me know once you get a chance

@@Lumilan OK thanks, but your figure of 1 gram is not not accurate. 86-proof whiskey has 0.1 gram (g) of sugar per 100 millilitres (ml). If one shot has 50 ml, that will mean one shot will have .05 gram of sugar. It is very low. I should have said I prefer my whisky without added sugar.

Halloween 2020 I was drinking Fireball, fell broke my big toe. It sucks not being able to wear a shoe in the winter when it’s snowing. It took 6 months for the toe to heal. But I had fun on Halloween
It's pretty good in custard ,but let's face it,it's just a liquor, a sugar bomb 💣 and hangover is guaranteed. Not something I usually purchase, but I did this holiday season...for guests mainly. Marketing can do amazing thing .

It is very popular. I see people doing shots of it in bars all the time. I stay away from it though because it gives me a mean hangover. Plus Im not hip on that taste.

I remember buying fireball shots to the security at a club in chicago, this security guy was my friend and i found him working at this place. He saw me in the never ending line and immediately gave me an exclusive vip entry into the club.

A bottle was bought it wasn’t bad but the price is ridiculous so I figured I’d buy a 1/5 of bourbon whiskey and simply sprinkle in cinnamon sugar to make it a version of fireball.
Not exactly rocket science to figure out that you can make your own cheaper by stirring in cinnamon sugar since fireball is already sweet.
And someone else said makes a useful cough syrup that’s true too.
Also for a large 1/5 of whiskey is the same price as a regular size bottle of fireball, you can go buy cinnamon and sugar and sweeten up any cheap bottle of whiskey.
Be smart is your booze shopping and learn to make the flavors you want, it costs nothing to look up how to make cocktails and mixed drinks online and than be creative.

Yes, propylene glycol is classified as antifreeze, it is not poisonous and is not the same as ethylene glycol which is the antifreeze people use in their cars and is very poisonous. Propylene glycol is used to flush the water lines in trailers for winter storage. I suppose if you drink a quart it would not be very healthy.

I worked in a liquor store when fireball came out that is the first liquor that said whiskey on it that women started to buy women would only buy Chardonnay wine or vodka when fireball whiskey came out women were buying it more than guys so I told everybody hey you having a party you want women to come buy fireball
We could not keep any size of that liquor in stock and we carried all the sizes
If you added the combined bottle sales with the sales of cocktails or shots served at bars it wouldn't be an accurate number anyways. Because the bars have to buy the bottles just like regular people do at the stores and liquor stores.

Recently got some of this and Is it just me or is it substantially less spicy than it was 10+ years ago? Also it tasted way too sweet and kinda grossed me out, could almost smell the hangover on it.
Some are solely cinnamon and less alcohol to reach requirements for gas stations and corner stores. The places with real cinnamon whisky fire ball are sold at liquor stores.
Any bartender that recommends anything with Fireball isn’t a bartender. That shit is toxic.

I'm sure you know more about it then the millions of people who chose to purchase it over other brands. Old people love cinnamon in candy and that's why they love it in this liquor so it isn't just the young people as you think. I see plenty of old people purchasing it. There's a reason it's one of the best selling liquors in the US because it tastes really really good and they were the first to make this formula before others started copying them like Jack Daniels. I have been buying it for 10 years and the drink was made in the 80s and i'm plenty old enough to buy my own drinks but of coarse people who love this drink know that and they don't give 2 shits about someone who thinks they have more refined tastes because they love to drink something that has no sugar in it.

I usually buy a new bottle of alcohol I've never tasted before and while I drink it I google what people think about it and I stumbled across this video. Dang it's good, though I can tell that drinking more than 5 shots will probably give you nausea. It's one of those drinks you don't want to get wasted on or you'll hate it for the rest of your life. I'll take my time enjoying it
