Nice video! I looked at your previous video about Slovenia a few times before visiting the country myself. :) KORENIKA & MOŠKON - Malvazija Selection 2016 is my favourite orange wine so far. I also really like the Santomas Antonius Refosk.

I totally agree with you! Slovenian wines are amazing!!! Love the Malvazija's that are coming from there! Also recently went to a wine tasting and discovered some great aged red wines with classic grapes like Cab Say and Merlot.

I haven't gotten to try any Slovenian wine yet, but it's interesting seeing them using the same cultivars like Italy and Hungary. I love both Blaufrankish/Kekfrankos and Furmint from Hungary. We went to Tokaj and Eger in 2016, awesome trip and experience. I will try to look for Slovenian wines at the next wine fair here. Great video and I will check out the other video, I love geeky and non-mainstream wines as much as the classics and their QPR is often pretty awesome.

Ahhhh did you visit by yourself or with my friends at Taste Hungary? Yes the varieties are shared bc the countries border each other and those borders are merely political, there are no major geographical boundaries.
I think you’ll REALLY like a couple of upcoming videos

In Tokaj we found a local wine tourism company, they took us to Chateau Dereszala, Disznoko and Himesudvar, a charming family run winery. Where we finally got to try Eszencia, an amazing experience. In Eger we drove to Kovacs Nimrod, saw their vineyards and did a tasting. Their wines were/are very good, but not "Hungarian" enough for my wife and I (my wife is Hungarian). We also visited St.Andrea and saw the cellars and did a tasting.I think their wines are some of the best of Hungarian wines and it seems Decanter agrees with me. As their Nagy Eged Bikaver Superior won best in show last year. I have heard good things about Taste Hungary and regularly read their posts, newsletters, etc.

Niceee, i get what you are saying about Kovacs Nimrod. St Andreas is good but there are A LOT of good producers there. I was working on a Hungarian wine book but have shelved the project for now
