    Awesome videos. I’m in the process of restoring a 1980 f150 and you’ve helped a lot with some things I’ve always wanted a bull nose and I finally have one I just can’t wait to have a fully restored one when the price goes up on them. One problem I’m having is the blinkers I’ve found that it’s pretty common the plastic piece in the steering wheel breaks. And just a little 2 sense you should do a lift kit video I feel like it would help a lot of people I’ve already done it on mine and it wasn’t as easy as I thought.

    I have an 86 and was putting a lift on it over the weekend. For the rivets....take a grinder or dremel cutting wheel & cut an X in the top of the rivet head all the way through then air chisel them off. They come off very easy & quick like that. Dremel works real good for the rivets where a grinder cut off wheel won't fit.

      Thanx man. That is great advice and sounds a hell if a lot easier than what I did. Thanx for the insight!!

      7/8 is nearly an inch, maybe you meant 1/8 pilot.

    I have worked on these rivets before and u would have saved some time if u took the outside off with an angle grinder then popped them out with a punch. Nice work though i will be doing some bushing changes on a 81 f100

      Its not always working that way... i watched this video like a week ago and tought exacly like you but i tried it today grinded the head and even with a zip gun some of these rivets wouldnt budge

    So I just did my 92’, same kit, the large bushing is about 1/2 larger than what I removed, I can’t get them on with the large washer and nut to start the thread, it put my bracket bolts off about an inch? So I put four smaller bushings it seemed to work fine, confused cuz yours looks the same and you got it to work, you put the bushings on and bracket and jacked up, when I did that it was off but I still didn’t have the nut on, I bought two kits...

    Thanks for this video! How bad was it getting the large nut off the end of radius arm?

    • @bryzgarage5028
      @bryzgarage5028  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mikey mike it wasn't too bad once I heated it and sprayed it with pb blaster. I also used a air gun to remove it.

    What is the torque for the bracket to frame bolts? Thanks for the vid!

    • @papabones6307
      @papabones6307 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He is using 1/2 inch course bolt and nuts. Average torque should be 75 - 80 lb. ft. of torque. Run it in, Torque to 50 lb. ft. the set torque wrench to 80ft lb, and torque. I would put thread lock on the bolts, first, then torque.

    Even if you're not replacing the pivot bushings... which you should obviously. I'd still rather drop the whole front end.

    You didn't have to drill the rivets out, all you had to do was remove the 2 bolts holding the top of the coil spring, remove bolt holding the brake line on the frame, drop the coil spring and pull the radius arm out of the frame bracket.

    Those are not grade 8 bolts. There is no such thing as a metric grade 8 bolt. Metric 8.8 is equivalent to SAE grade 5

    Play on 2X speed, video still takes 5 times as long as it should have could have. Take 10 minutes to explain how to drill a hole in a rivet..... Geez !!
