    I just changed my 83 F150, before i watched this. I wish i had watched it before i did the job. I didnt put any permatex on the cover , as i didnt have any, and imay have over tightened the bolts. I cant get the breather back into the cover, too. I may go buy some sealer and do the job over. Thanks much for the video. Well done and understandable.

    We pulled all that smog crap off my Dad's old 85 300 Six, or maybe after rebuilding it about 5 or 6 times I left some things off. lol I can work on that thing blindfolded, I wondered if I could pull & put in a newer truck body, say 2000 & up, the wiring would be the fun part. Good video keep her running.

    Chiltons lists the 76-86 in one lump. They say torque should be 48-84 inch lbs. Note the inch, not foot, for anyone following this! ;)
    Did you have to drain the radiator to remove the top hose? I have a 1976 300 that looks the same. I’m also having the same issue with leaks from the bolts and haven’t done this before.

      +TwentyFortySeven thank you for the comments!
      I did not have to drain the radiator. The hose did not have really any fluid in it because the truck was cooled off...no circulation. Thank you

    I've got a 1985 5.0 liter ford f250 and I'm about to do my valve cover gaskets but my truck is the EFI ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION model and I'm thinking of making a similar video but I'll be cussing and having people laugh at me but as long as they learn from it that's all that matters

    Hey, man. Could you do a video on vacuum lines? Specifically, where they are supposed to go and how to replace them? I waa gifted an '82 e150 club wagon xlt with a 300 inline 6. But there is a major vacuum leak with some of these smaller vacuum lines disconnected and plugged and I honestly can't make heads or tails of the vacuum line diagram under the hood. There's one pink vacuum line that I need help with, as well as how to properly find where I have these vacuum leaks at. I've heard that using propane is the easiest method if you don't have access to a smoke machine. Any help would be appreciated.

      Hey Joey, I can help you with this. Someone else had asked the same question several months ago and I had forgot to make a video. So yes, thanx for the reminder and I'll make one as soon as I can!! Thanx

      @@bryzgarage5028 awesome, I've managed to piece together some of what I want to know on this, but it would be helpful for me too!

      @@bryzgarage5028 I'm having some trouble with this as well... I have it somewhat figured out but not sure my line arrangement is 100% correct... the truck is still running a little rough at Idle... Your setup is by far the closest to my engine (83 F150 XLT) that i've seen. If you are still thinking about doing the vacuum lines video it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    at 13:44, there is a hose to the right of the EGR? what is that attached to? What does it do? Ive searched high and low for an answer and I can't figure it out

      So I'm not sure which hose you are referring too....but I have another video on replacing all of my air hoses/lines. It's a two part video. Second video is probably what you want. I show what connects to what. Watch that and let me know if it shows what you are looking for.

    What air cleaner housing are you using, is that factory for your truck?
    My 1980 F150's air cleaner housing appears to have an unreplaceable filter.

    Could you please do a video on ur carburetor pls ?

      If you look up Mike's Carburetor on TH-cam and specifically look for YFA Carburetor Rebuild you'll find an excellent video. A lot better than what I could do.

    Thanks for the video but an 85-86 model would be EFI, not Carb fueled.

    Doing this now man, thanks.
    So... every one of the 8 bolt holes, have divots. But these don't look like a accident.. They are thick, all uniform and perfect... Like cast this way.. hm.. I don't see how someone could over-tighten and get them like this... Mine is a 79 but the motor is an 85 300. ** looking closer, your cover is different. Mine just has the Ford logo on top, then 3 holes on top. Yours says something else and has 2 main holes.. hmm.

    • @bryzgarage5028
      @bryzgarage5028  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jonathan Ashworth you know Jonathan, I had oil in a lot of places so I had to clean it, run it and inspect it about three time before i figure out it a was originating from the valve cover. After 7 months, Still NO oi!!! Whoohoo!!

    • @bryzgarage5028
      @bryzgarage5028  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jonathan Ashworth yeah I don't know. My best advice is buy a lot of engine brite and just clean the hell out of every nook and cranny, then drive around for a while and you "should" see the source. It is a crappy, dirty process but it was well worth it in the end. Good luck Jonathan!!!
