Do you have dimensions/plans for this?
Would it be possible to do this with an actual router, that has a switch??? Perhaps, (using a battery powered router as an example) by idk, locking a battery operated router into the on position, and getting a cordless battery connector, to hook to an empty battery shell, or something like that, and have a switch in between for turning on the unit, then you would have a unit that you can use elsewhere, likely, yet possibly still have all those benefits that you mentioned. I was thinking about getting a battery operated router, if I could find one that supports being used in a router table, and I guess, if I had to, I wouldn't mind using a plan like this, but with 3 sides, while keeping a frame on the open side for more stability, and with the open side, I would be able to access the switch, if I had to. Also, I wouldn't need the fence, for most of the things I would like to use the router table for, if I ever decided to build one...
**Edit** even though you said it was a sealed box, I just got to the part where you made doors for it, so that part of my comment is covered, I guess...😂😂
I’ll buy 2 stop blocks if you post a plan for the fence!
Any plans for this?
Just wondering where the wooden clamping jig came from? You mentioned it but cannot find it in the link. Love your products
You sir are a legend, love this video cant wait to build one of these for my small shop when it's up and running. Keep up the great work👍🏻
Thanks bud!
Is Jason going to start selling the Wood version of the the Megasquare? This is the first I have seen wood one.
Same question! :)
Hello good sir. I like the video but the link to the free plans does not work anymore. any chance to check it so i can build it? :)
Great video awesome editing and shots. I just really wish there was more dialogue on what exactly you were doing in each step
Amazing build! It's always nice to see a different way of making things!
You do a great job with these videos! Thanks! I am nearly finished with my router table using your plans. What did you use to finish the cabinet? Odis’s Oil or something else? Also, why lacquer on the table vs a polyurethane? Thanks in advance for your response.
Awesome as always...question on the dust collection box. have you experienced any overheating issues with the router being in pretty much sealed box? I understand the suction from the dust collection would clear some of that but I don't see how any fresh / cool air is getting in there.
if you were worried about this in your own build then just drill some ventilation holes near the top
Hi Jonathan I really enjoyed the video and your live stream and wondered when will there be another one ? If at all
I was sick this week but hopefully we'll do another next week.
hello sir i liked the video but i need to ask you I purchased a triton tra001 and installed it in my shop built router table my problem is that the triton Tra001 will not fit the raised panel bit i have which is the profile i like . the bit diameter is 3-1/2 inches the opening in the router base is maybe a 1/2 inch too small so i cant lower the bit to the height i need to use the back cutter on the bit do i really need the back cutter so the panel will fit in the groove of the stiles ? or is shimming the table up an options ?what are your thoughts ?
Any reason you opted to not go with a miter track running parallel to the fence?
Never have used one. If I need to I can turn the fence 90 degrees and use one of the t-tracks as a miter gauge. When I have cross cut in the past I just use a large backer board against the fence that is linger than it is wide. In 5 years I've never wished I had one.
What router do you use in this table?
Dw618 or was that just used to build it?
The plans aren't free anymore😢

Free plans are now 25 bucks but that’s ok. I just want to know how high you built it.

@@katzmosestools I signed up several times but it just kept looping me back to sign up again. No worries. It probably would work on my pc but I was using an iPad.
For a moment I thought Jimmy Kimmel started his DIY channel
That’s what I told my wife during the video!
Thanks-now I can't unsee Jimmy Kimmel on this channel... 😤
Except Jimmy Kimmel can't actually do anything useful.
Within seconds it was my first thought
I bet I like this guy's politics more.
Love the DIY videos but I don’t know about other people but I would love to see a 4-5 part series of this actually being built step by step not just highlights with music. Even if you had a Patreon I’d jump all over that. Some parts of the build seem uncomplicated but others I’m scratching my head. Just a thought but I do enjoy your videos.
I agree, this is not DIY-this is you did it with a number of tools I don't have, techniques that I am still not sure of and a lot of skill I don't yet have. Super cool and fun to watch, but not very instructional
I agree as well. I'm in research to build my first router table and this video was inspirational but not a step by step diy guide.
@@AlFerguson you mean you don’t have a Cnc laser in the back of the garage? Jk Agree. Great video though and design but would love some “how to” detail as well as some measurements…
He has plans for sale for this build. I’m sure the style of only doing highlights motivates people to buy the plans. That’s what happened to me, haha.
if you actually pay attention and THINK, everything you need to know is already shown or mentioned.
Are there any plans for PDF plans available for purchase on this by chance?
An idea: Sell a package with plans that includes 2 stop blocks and the engraved parts of the fence. As always, great video!
Shut up and take my money! No doubt a package like this would be amazing!
Yep, I’d buy it!
Sold
Yeah plans in metric would be awesome.
I would also like the plans for this or at least the dimensions. Looking to build a router cabinet instead of buying one.
Where can I get the plans to make this project? I would like to have the main dimensions if nothing else. Thanks for your video. Nicely done. Douglas W. Cate
I’d want a 3” drawer for router bits. Never too much router bits storage.
A 2.5" (diameter) hole + an extra.0.5" routed all around it (radius) = a 3.5" hole (diameter). Not an issue when fully covered by the plate tho 😉
DIY? How much do the tools cost that you're using? This isn't DIY dude.
holy crap there is very little direction to this video so much for explaining a DIY
Great video, awesome Router Table! I'm with everyone else... I want to build one and would love to see plans/material list. We'll screw it up anyway but give us a fighting chance. LOL
Did you get a link to the plans?
Nicely done Johnathan. Because my shop (corner of a garage) has such limited space, I built mine as a side extension to my table saw and shares the fence. Wish I had the space for a dedicated router table nice setup.
On epoxying the t-track - chew up the outside/underside corners of the aluminum- it’ll ad some mechanical tooth for the epoxy to hold onto.
I’ve tried to subscribe to the newsletter and download the plans but nothing seems to work. Keep getting a 404 message 🤷🏻♂️
Email support@kmtools.com
Looking for the Fireball Tool clamping jig? Link please
8:40 - I'm confused. Wouldn't a 2.5" hole saw followed up with a 1/2" bit create a 3.5" hole since you're adding a 1/2" all the way around?
Yes, which is why he skipped straight to the shot of screwing down the plate with the hose attachment so that we wouldn't see the error 🤣
You actually cut a 3.5 inch hole. 2.5 inch hole saw plus cutting an extra 0.5 inches on the radius equals 3.5 inches. Unless that router bit was only 0.25 inches.
I'm just in the planning stages of building a router table, so this is great! I'm curious was there a reason you didn't have a slot for a miter gauge? I'm trying to decide if that's something I need or not. thanks!
is there plans for this I can download?
Wondering the same thing
Also wondering...
th-cam.com/video/htZeqaDNQxc/w-d-xo.html check this one bench top router table mini tilting
And MORE wondering! But, obviously, this much time having transpired, there will be no plans. I'm sure somebody else has plans we can use.
How about a “Katz Moses Bits Bits Combo Pack” with all the “essentials bits”? I feel I need them all but don’t know where to start...
By order of importance (very subjective): 2 straight flutes (thin/thick), a rabbet, a flush trim bit, a 45-chamfer, a roundover, a tongue/groove set, and one decorative edge molding/ogee bit. Which bits you need depends heavily on your projects and desired style. For your first bits, I would actually just buy a cheap kit with 10-20 common bits, practice a whole bunch on scrap wood, then re-buy your favorites from a high quality brand.
Any chance of you doing a video on making a wooden version of those fancy 'mega squares', preferably non-CNC for us plebes 😉
Are there plans for the fence and table anywhere? I am more interested in a new fence
Holy hell. That’s a work of art!
Edit: I didn’t even realise that Bits & Bits delivered to the UK either. Bonus! 👍
That's awesome!
Oh cool, they send out to Uk? Handy
FREE PLANS! Where? Great video, suck click bait.
kmtools.com/pages/gift
Great video, have always enjoyed watching what you put out. Did you happen to include the plans for making this monster? I looked at the list below the video and wondered if I just missed it among the many items with links. 👍
Haven't yet
The video is well done and clearly extensively edited. Would have liked to see longer duration views of details and more discussion of critical design issues. For example, I would guess that two layers of 3/4 inch baltic is not going to sag under the weight of the router. The box enclosing the router and left definitely seems to cut down on sound. Would like to have had more information on how the dust collection works and again more pictures of the finished project from all angles.
Hey, I haven't received the router table plan. Subscribed from 2 different accounts but only got ' Confirm your Subscription ' mail only, No Router table plan.
Once you confirm your subscription it should send it.
@@katzmosestools I have confirmed my subscription and still not received the plan

Must be doing something wrong - can't get 'free plans."
kmtools.com/pages/gift
Per usual outstanding build! Do you/ would you sell the router insert template??
Awesome video! While watching I couldn't help but wonder, how do you control the router speed if it's enclosed like that? Do you take the whole lift in and out every time?
That's my question too!
free plans? link takes you to a site and the plans are $25.00
kmtools.com/pages/gift
Great video. That hinge error is the sort of thing I'd take more than three years to get round to fixing!
Hahaha probably
if you're going to provide a link for "Free plans", you might want to make sure the plan is free. No harm in charging for it, but the video title is misleading. There's no free plan for this router table. Once again, it's not that it costs money, it's that you labeled the video as the plans being free. They're not.
They are. Look in the special offers section in the about menu
@@katzmosestools I stand corrected. Thank you for the quick response. Will definitely build this. Looks like a great design.
kmtools.com/pages/gift
Your ability to deliver quality videos week in and week out is almost as impressive as your woodworking prowess. As an amateur woodworker, its appreciated!
Thanks for that. Marc and I work really really hard so it is very appreciated. Cheers!
Amazing build! I'd definitely like to buy some plans!
free plans that cost $25 yea right... dislike
kmtools.com/pages/gift
Why are the t-slots all the way across?
I couldn't quite understand the 3' hole trick that you mentioned in the video.
He cut a 2 inch hole with the hole saw, then routed out another half an inch all the way around with a rabbiting bit making it 3 inches but the router bit was not deep enough to go all the way through the ply so he finished it with flush-trim bit .
Would you share the plane/files for the 3D print for the tool holder on the router table?
Within the last couple months, after discovering your channel, it's become must watch for me
That truly means a lot bud! Welcome my friend!
Would have been so much better if you explained what you were doing and how you were doing it as you went along rather than the 10 minutes of arty shots and music. I didn't really learn anything. Nice design though.
Wow. I love the video, I love the build, I love the attention to detail, but that lift alone is 3x as expensive as my router (Bosch POF 1400 ACE), and 1.5x as expensive as for instance a Triton TRA001 which comes with built in lift capabilities.
I like the lift, don't get me wrong, but it's way too expensive for what it does.
I can see this was for entertainment rather then actually showing people how this was made.
Some people need more hand holding, but this is not entertainment. It has the plans, which most any videos dont. So dont knock the video for your incompetence.
@@firstname-qq3xp it doesn't actually have the plans
@@joe-hd3uv this video is from 4 years ago. They use to have free plans but he has since made them $25.
Did you add fresh air for the motor? I have a ugly similar setup, have limited space, so I have a sanding station, made of 1/2 Plastic, to go in place of the router lift, for my small sanding on guitars! Making that video tomorrow! all in my assembly/ outfeed table!!
I tried getting the free plans today and couldn’t do it. The email to confirm the newsletter subscription never arrives :(. I tried two different email addresses
I love that you made the table top and fence so thick, thick equals stability and rigidity, overkill is underrated.
This looks amazing!!! ... and I think I will build it (with some mods).
I am a bit green, so I have a question ---- I do not see a T-track for a mitre going parallel to the fence. Is this something that simply is not used?
Currently building this based on your plans right now! Not sure if you still have the CAD sketch, but sharing the template you made for the jessem lift would be amazing! Also, did you screw the plate down into the top via the 4 corner screws using inserts? Thanks!
Absolutely awesome job. You make it look so easy, to get the router plate flush and prefect is a lot harder then it looks.
Really enjoyed the video, inspired me to build one using your plans and it turned out alright. The only thing that feels “off” is the height.. I had to add +3” to the bottom to make it a usable height and I’m only 5’10.. so why did you build it so short? And yes I am using the same casters
Maybe I’m wrong but wouldn’t a 2.5 inch circle plus a half inch bit(which would add 1/2 inch to both sides of the diameter) make this hole 3.5 inches not 3? Seems like he’d want a 1/4 inch rabbit bit.
You're not Martin Scorsese. You're a woodworker. Enough with the slo-mo and ultra zoom shots. Just show us the steps on how to build what you're building. WTF????
Jonathon, I got my t-track maybe 1/16th of an inch closer than 3/4 away from the lift top. hope that is ok. Also, I got my lift top 3/16 inch deeper than the table top, I am thinking that the leveling screws will take care of that. Hope that isn't too deep.
Well, i know what we are doing this weekend!
Hello, thankx for the tutorial, good job. I suscribed and received an email, but nowhere u can find a place to confirm my email. Therefore i still do not have access to the plans. Could u solve this issue pls.
The music gave me as much of a headache as trying to fill in the blanks of all the steps you skipped over... and I was even looking at your PDF plans while watching!
Great video, unfortunately can't download the free plans even after subscribing 3 times.
wait...2 1/2" hole with a 1/2" rabbeting bit....so that wouldn't make it a 3 1/2" hole for the dust collection?
Hey, thanks for the great video. What should the minimum fence travel be away from the hole for the router in your opinion?
Jeeze that would be an expensive DIY project...
How many hours did that take you?
What was the cost of all the materials?
All materials are linked in the pinned comment. As I explain in the intro, this is a daily use tool on the production side of our shop. I pulled out all the stops but there are MANY ways to make this a lot cheaper. Took probably 20 hours with filming.
I appreciate the free plans, but wtf kind of plywood sheet are you using that are 60"x60" sheets according to the cut list?
Thumbs up for a great router table build but ultimately a thumbs down for not providing any dimensions or build plans, plenty of other links to stuff to buy but no plans. If nothing else I definitely would have bought plans for this table even if I didn't follow the dimensions fully, at least plans or even dimensions in the video build as you went along would have given a good starting point.
Hey man, I can like Your projects and Your style, but who to hell does need such loud music instead of the nice sound of screaming saws and routers. Even if I turn down the loudness the music is so dominant. Your work would shine more without that music ...
Where can I get the plans to make a DIY 3D printer and I have a laser pointer I hope that works haven't used it to cut anything yet just to point during my DIY rocket building and DIY how to to be an astronaut classes at the park downtown
I WISH EVERYONE WOULD STOP PUTTING MUSIC ON THEIR TH-cam VIDEO WHY DOESNT SOME TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT LIKE LETTING US HEAR THE NOISE YOU ARE MAKING. PLEASE STOP COPING EACHOTHER CUT YOUR OWN PATH. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
A good video, very inspiring. However, a note to viewers. This is not a DIY or how to video. This is more of a look what i can do with tools your likely not to have unless your a professional.
why do the T-tracks run out to the front of the table?
how is that useful?
i’m building a router table and looking for different ideas.
thanks
My only question is about the caster wheels. Even with the locks, the table is up on wheels. Is that stable enough for me to be pushing a board across a cutter?
lots of show and tell. would love to see more plans and execution NOT after the build execution. thanks.
I have a column router and I want to invert it, but I'm afraid to do that. I don't know if it was designed to rotate upside down. if you can guide me on this I would like to know.
thanks
Adam Reid. America's Test Kitchen. He does similar things. Are you two related?
The router lift you linked is no longer available. Is there another lift that would work with your design?
do you have any video of using this router table not just for rounding edges? i mean you put in T tracks for adjustment but im not sure what else you could use it for but maybe im not imaginative enough
As I'm watching this on the big screen, my mother comes in the living room and says "Oh! I didn't know Jimmy Kimmel does woodworking". 😋🤭😂
Great Video. 5 stars. 👍
subscribed but can not download the free plan, just keeps jumping to a different page back and forth pff
I was perfectly happy with my shop made router table until I watched this. Now I'm gonna have to make a new one. Keep up the great project videos, Jonathan!
really wanna make one but jsut the two sheets of baltic ply will cost me $550 here in Norway! ouch!
Do not understand the video, for whom should be the video? For beginners or amateurs or for those who have everything every tool as in the video?
You know that Dewalt plunge router base has dust collection run through the big black compression sleeve. Took me a few uses to figure that out.
That is pretty! Does the dust collection really work? My router table seams to spit the "Man Glitter" at a Mach 2 velocity.
Hey Jonathan, I tried to download these awesome plans but it doesn't seem to work. Are these still available free?? Thanks for these great videos hope to keep seeing more.
love love that you said you didn't want to give money to Bezos. Thank You. You have stronger will than me, but Thank You.
I am building my own design and have been referencing this video to pick up tips. I've watched it several times and just noticed something at 0:50. Pause it and see if you can see it too.
Johnathan, I've been struggling on buying a router table or making one. I love how you made this. I might attempt to make this. need to watch this a few times. Any recommendations since you had this for awhile on anything changes? Thank you for the video and I look forward to receiving your products.
I don't see the link for the fireball jason wood right angle clamp jig
I can never find plywood that looks that good. maple? birch?
What you did in minute 5:21 is something very dangerous and very unprofessional.
