    Hi Kev. I recently bought a Sage Pro. I’m still working on it, but enjoying the time making coffee. Some years ago I used to have a Rancilio Silvia, but it was too much work, priming etc, for only one person to enjoy it. I am a coffee geek, but I don’t actually drink a lot of it, I just like good coffee and the process of making it. I just discovered today that you sell coffee. I’ve ordered some and I’m really excited about trying it. Thank you for all the work you put in to keep us all up to date with all things coffee.

    I recently purchased the Barista Touch Impress following watching many of these videos. I find the Impress system very helpful as I’m not a skilled barista. The guidance has really helped. I’ve also found the automatic milk very helpful. The other benefit is rapid hot water simply for making a cup of tea!

    Thanks Kev, Oracle Jet has just come back in stock so I've bought one using your link and code. Great stuff!

    Never seen the Oracle Jet for $1500 US, it is $1999 for suggested retail price. If it ever got down to that price it would be very enticing. However I am a Jura E8 owner and leaning towards a nearly full manual experience next

    I just bought a touch impress thanks to your videos. While the coffee quality is definitely better than mocka pot, the espresso yield is not consistent. It gives too less on single shot on some occasions with the same grind settings. The yield varies from 6 grams to 18 grams for single shot for the Ana bean and same grind size. Could it be a faulty unit? However for double shot it is consistently 36 grams.

    I bought the ninja. Had the same issue as a lot of people where the recommended grind setting went down to 1 after a few days.
    I could have replaced it with warranty but I have concerns over build quality if this happens so often.
    So I’ve switched to Touch Impress. The espresso difference is considerable for anyone who likes espresso.
    Milk based drinks won’t be too different between the machines though.

      The Same here when I make a double Shot, but the beans are really Dark roasted, thought this is normal? When I use the Single Cup it recomments 3 for the Same beans

      @thefury2000 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ the lighter the roast, the finer the grind needed. So it will mean you have nowhere to go if very dark are at 1! That was my concern.

      @Coffee_Kev  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This depends on what beans you're using, although it's true generally speaking that lighter roast, freshly roasted coffee will require a finer grind, this is - kind of - also true with darker roast commodity beans, meaning beans with no roasted on date. I suspect what's happening here is that folk are using darker roasted supermarket beans with no roasted on date. With these, it wouldn't be surprising to find you end up down to grind size 1. I've used various different espresso blends with the Ninja, all within a few weeks or roast, and I've not been at grind size 1 with any of them.

      @ it’s a common fault with the ninjas Kev. It’s not a standard thing. I’ve been using CWorks beans and it’s gone down to 1.

      Ninja has not recommended 1 to me yet. I’ve been using it 1-2 times per day for 2 months.

    Hey Kev ~ what we really want to know is which of these machines produces the best coffee. Thanks

    I think that for home use the ThermoJet technology is really a breakthrough compared to the waiting and energy efficiency of the dual boiler. Then there is only the question of automatic/assisted tamping and images on the display.
    For me the Barista Pro won, which does exactly what it is supposed to, where I can easily set everything up the way I want it.

    anyone got any tips for the touch impress to stop the loose ‘crumbs’ being dropped onto the top of the puck after tamping?

    The Ninja is a total no brainer. Especially at around 1/3 of the price of the other machines.

    Ninja screwed themselves by bringing out the mid level machine, then showing off the higher end version without making it available. The plastic dosing ring completely put me off
    I found a reconditioned barista touch impress on ebay for £600 and bought that. There are loads of these available and they're usually open box or demo units with missing accessories.
    Only one gripe so far: when brewing, my favourite glass vibrates around making the coffee miss

      Yeah, weird move I thought. Bargain!! Just slap a silicon pad or a coaster or something on the drip tray, works like a charm :-). Ta, Kev.

      Tamp twice the first tamp leaves the crumbs and the 2nd tamp cleans them up!

      @bragg2012 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ thanks, still get crumbs after a few tamps. I’ve found that removing the portafilter after tamping then re-inserting and tamping again seems to do the trick.
