This is literally one of the most helpful videos out there when it comes to understanding songs in 6/8 of which hold an extra three notes periodically. I have been googling and searching for time signatures for a song I'm playing for church on drums.... and this is literally the only thing that helped me understand how to count songs in 6/8 with elements of 9/8 timing sprinkled in. Thanks so much. Hats off to you and your awesome video.
This was very useful! I’ve always had difficulty playing in anything besides 4/4 and these have been very helpful with understanding how to coins these measures.

Actually the difference is that 3/8 continues but 9/8 is result of summation between 4/4 and 5/4. You can really hear this rest or pause on real musical example. 7/8 and 5/8 also same, these are result of 4/4 + 3/4 and 2/4 + 3/4. 9/8 also can even be 2/8+2/8+2/8+1/8+2/8
Sir I was frustrated & searching the concept how to understand this all stuff youtube suggested me ur video. It seems the best of hundreds I've watched 👀🤟 The
Play back any tricky bits at half speed. Count out the "ands" of each beat and only tap it with your hands before playing it on an instrument. DO NOT RACE to learn things like this. Chill and take your time (no pun intended)
Great video overall, but one thing that disturbed me - the color of the text, its really eye straining to read red text over white background, so please use different text color next time!

for me, all the even times, are easy, like 4/4, cut time, 3/4, just the slower ones get me
