How could anyone give this a thumbs down!!!!!! Louisiana
Thank you Matthew for serving your country, keeping me free, and allowing me to say what I want to say to whom I want to say it, without getting my head cut off. And we know this is still happening in some countries. God Bless You and may he keep you safe.

Thank you for your southern delicious meal and hospitality! Jesus is Lord!👏
We cook our grits, then whip in an egg, cheese, onion and garlic. Sometime chop up cooked bacon in the mixture then bake. Yummy!
I like butter and salt on grits.
@ EastSider, me also & real butter not margarine, i use unsalted butter & i guess you do also as you add salt, better control of the saltiness, try some fresh cracked black pepper also, i do, it is good, God bless
Me too!
Thats how I eat them! Yum!! Butter and salt!!
I agree...no sugar. Butter, s&p
Yep I was thinking they need to turn in their Southern cards!! lol
She just whipped up a full southern breakfast FROM SCRATCH with TWO KINDS of gravy in under 40 minutes!
Y'all can't say a dang thing about a good ol' southern woman!
I like Chris' comments he always add good information to all of the videos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thank you Matthew for your service ❤️
I remember my mama cracking one egg at a time in a separate bowl as she did not want one to crack one open with the other good ones as sometimes they were cloudy or had a reddish tint to them.
My grandmother did the same thing. She raised her own chickens. Nice memories :)
We
Everything looks so good and whether or not to use salt and pepper or sugar is a personal preference. There is no right or wrong way! People need to respect that everybody has different taste.
As we do !
I do feel that sugar shouldn't be put in grits until everyone has had a chance to fix them to their liking. Better yet, when u have company, don't add sugar & let each one add sugar or salt & butter & cheese to your own liking!
@@deansurratt7404 I agree. With company over you don’t know how they want theirs made. So make them plain and the ones that want sugar can add it at the table, then cheese and butter and so on. Once you’ve added sugar it’s too late if all don’t like sugar. Merry Christmas to all and thanks to Tammy for sharing your recipes especially Christmas breakfast!
Love grits, but cannot handle the sugar in it. Love sugar in oatmeal however.
My youngest son and I like grits with cheese.
Sugar and butter in oatmeal is the best!!! With buttered toast of homemade bread!!! OMG! YUMMY!!!!🥰🤗🙋❤️‼️
I am Southern, 76 and have never put sugar in grits. All kinds of other things, but never sugar. I like fruit in oatmeal, but not much else.
@@sharrenjones1625 by
Here in South Carolina no sugar, but butter and maybe cheese.
Jeanne Shull sugar in grits that’s a YANKEE thing, not southern.Thats a Travesty putting sugar in grits!! I’m from SCToo
Yea cheese , when there's fried catfish involved !! oh Yea !
@@minniemouska4320 Right ! save the sugar for Cream of Wheat ! not grits ! southern here , Central Florida !
@@minniemouska4320 I’m not a yankee and I put sugar in grits and I was raised in Appalachia Mountains back in the sticks!!!
Great day. Was up at 7. Fed 14 people. I am from Canada. God's country here in British Columbia. Love Your southern accents
Thank you for inviting me into your home on Christmas Day, God bless!! Merry Christmas
One of the things I appreciate and love about your channel is that your viewers are made to feel like they are in your kitchen. There are nuances that we pick up that following a recipe won't provide. Such as starting meat, then biscuits, then grits...cleaning as you go...consistency of batters and mixes...how you hold the bowles...utensils picked and how to use them...I believe your channel is a true Teaching channel. I used to cook, a lot, and then a healthier change took place. And yes, healthier recipes do call for specific items and can require a special trip. Your channel let's me cook with simple ingredients that I have on hand. My childhood was very humble and I was taught at an early age to cook...your channel has reignited my enjoyment of kitchen creations. Just so u know, I am baking my 4th Oatmeal Cake to take to family and that Millionaire Pie has been requested. So Thank you for being you and preserving this southern art.
Thank you Rose, that is what I keep trying to tell people. You have to watch, not just look at a recipe, to learn to cook. Glad you are making the recipes!
@@CollardValleyCooks thank you,I I have medical issues n take treatments,I always watch you.Love the way you explain everything, love you n tour husband, treatment goes so. Fast
This is as my mother who is heaven did it. I can almost taste her home cooking again watching your videos. Pear preserves and all. Love your channel!
Tammy Chris don't want you to think I'm weird but I enjoy watching you so much and so glad I found your channel just before the world went crazy...that watching you feels like I'm watching you as my family ❤
Ahhh! A month before everything got weird. Thank you for this video showing normalcy.
I love Tammy so much ! I'm a older woman in a new neighborhood that only told 2 women about her. NOW, we have a new generation of cooks. They call themselves the Elementary Cooks. Winter Break is on and I get to kick back and let the kids treat me. THANKS TAMMY 😆
Nice!
Merry Christmas to you all. We love you too. First x I seen this Video. Brought tears to my eyes making red eye. Gramma and my mom made this. Gramma made and ma the homemade biscuits. Love your video's. Soon Christmas will be here again. Looking forward to another video from yah ??? God Bless you all
I love sorghum syrup and drop biscuits with butter. I love the bite sorghum has. Mother made the red eye gravy with coffee which I called coffee gravy only she used as a dressing over dark lettuce greens. I so glad you made it mother used bacon grease. I enjoy y'all so much.
It’s a bit late to wish you a Merry Christmas but I will anyway. I’m visiting family in Akron, Oh and took the train from Spokane, Wash. for the holidays. Enjoyed your putting together a southern breakfast. Though I prefer a few differences is ways of making a classic breakfast, (cause I cook the way my momma did on the farm in Idaho), it’s amazing how many similarities there are. Have a blessed new year!😜💕
I Know you like White Lily flour, but have you tried Southern biscuit self rising flour, it makes the best biscuits & Cakes.
I'm from North Carolina.and I love your cooking like my mama did
God Bless Ya'll. I bought a blending fork. The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought that cutt in fork off your website for Amazon. I LOVE IT...Cant live without it. MERRY CHRISTMAS
A belated Merry Christmas to you all. May the New Year be filled with many blessings. Holla from Tennessee. Go Vols.
We use the sausage drippings to make cream gravy.
The cold water and flour tip is GREAT! Thank you Tammy and Chris!
I don't know if it's just my family or that I'm from Louisiana...I had never even heard of sugar in your grits. I moved to alabama.. and my husband eats his grits with sugar. To each his own... but no sugar for me. Everything else looked so good!
I don't like grites but I like oatmeal n cream of wheat
N I am from Maryland but live in Delaware
My daddy was born in 1916 and mama made him red eye gravy quite often!! I dont know where that name came from though but miss my mama's gravy!
Oh yes, Thank you for your Service to Matthew and family. Sending light and warmth for everyone's safety.
Hello you two, great to see you today. Talk about multitask that lady can do it. Enjoy that fantastic breakfast. ❤🎄
Hi tammy love your channel. Delish southern food. I love your stories and tips and tricks😋
You all are making me hungry 😋 🤤 😋 yum-yummy!
If I’m in a hurry I will microwave the grits but I like them cooked on stove, slow and in salted water or milk. I add butter to them when they’re on my plate. I love me some salmon croquettes, rice and eggs scrambled up with green onions in them for breakfast.
awesome breakfast, i am a breakfast guy, love watching ur videos!!!!
I miss my mother-in-law watching this 💜
I can just sit and watch you cool and bake every day! An Atlanta transplant to San Diego, CA, God bless you and your family!
THANK YOU COLLARD VALLEY COOK, TAMMY FOR SHARING YOUR CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST HERE. PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL.
Merry Christmas! Thank you for your service, Mathew!
Didn't catch this live. Worked last night doing nurse work. So right now at 8:02pm eating breakfast. Bacon, Fried Eggs, Fried Bologna and Toast. Was 65 here today in East Tennessee. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅❤
Merry Christmas to you all. Prayers for a happy and successful New Year. Got a blending fork and the stainless measuring cups. Already used the blending fork. Love it!❤️
Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas to You both! from Tampa Florida ...yum biscuits! Now that's a Christmas breakfast!🎅🏻⛄👏🏻👍🏻
I'm in Tampa too! It's been a very merry and hot Christmas here today and I'm not complaining! Yummy breakfast for sure! 😋
I'm just seeing this 2 days after Christmas I learned what red eyed gravey is, sauteing the sausage in coffee and clean
the flour counter with cold water.
Looking forward to more
Happy in coming New Year!
Merry Christmas 🎄 thank you so much for sharing. I almost feel like I had a normal Christmas watching that. I used to cook for seven people when the kids were all young. They all have families of their own now and we are in a Truck delivering goodies across the country. Miss those hectic Christmas mornings. God Bless
I watched this Christmas video with my coffee this morning. I sure did enjoy it. A bit of normalcy in the crazy times we are living in today. A breath of hope to remind me that this too shall pass.
Just finished baking one. Can't wait to try it
Hope you enjoy
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!💖
Love that hint about cleaning flour with cold water!
I'm a northern gal. We (i) don't eat grits. I tried them and they are exactly what the name suggests, gritty. My mother said, when you cook, you cook. Nothing else. She was right. Looks like a terrific breakfast. We had a mexican quiche and cheese potatoes. Yours looks much better. I hope your family and friends had a wonderful Christmas.
No sugar in my grits! it’s not a southern NC thing. I use chicken broth first then add milk and butter, salt, pepper and cheese.Enjoyed watching. All cooks have to learn how to multitask and timing.
Love your cooking show. I grew up in Houston, TX and am now in south central Missouri Ozarks. Y'all just bring back such good memories of the south and good old home cooking. Thank you so much! Merry Christmas y'all!
Another Burleson Texas here ... love everything ya'll do with country cooking. Brings back awesome memories.
Merry Christmas Chris Tammy & girls.🎄It will be 80 degrees today in south Texas 🎄
Thanks for the cold-water tip. It will come in handy.😄
Thanks for sharing a portion of your day with me.
I love watching this in August! Thank you Matthew for your service! My son in law is in the Navy at Norfolk, VA as well! God Bless

LOVE IT TAMMY AND CHRIS! WOW! YOU CAN COOK!
I love watching you cook and listening to you & your husband's input....you are very talented!!!
No sugar in our grits, biscuits look good
That was so fun watching you cook. You sure can multi task!
Thank you for your service Matthew
You cook so much like me and my Mama. I love crunchy and done. You Are one of my favorite cooks Im coming fro Missouri.
YUM!! Merry Christmas!! May Gods amazing grace continue your blessings in 2020! 💛💛
You got me using white lily flour. I'm from Kennett,Mo. I really enjoy watching you cook. I'm 80 and still cook.
In the early 1970s my husband and I were stationed in California with the Air Force. We are from Alabama. We couldn't get decent flour or cornmeal. My mother would mail it to me and the postage was more than the cost of the flour and cornmeal. It was worth it because we were sick of eating bricks.
Poeple do not realize what a difference the brand of flour and cornmeal makes!
Oh my goodness Tammy and Chris! Sorry I missed this delicious Christmas breakfast with y’all; under the weather this Christmas😔. But, got great tips watching you tonight, and perked up my appetite a bit😊. Would like to thank your navy friend for his service to our country, and a Big Salute, to he and his family! How’d ya also, know I was hungry for collards tonight, Tammy LOL! I’ve never prepared them from scratch like that; looks pretty easy. My mom talked a lot about pot liquor, but never really saw it, yum! I know she made collards with ham hocks. Not sure how she incorporated them? . We always had black eyed peas and cornbread with them. Those Good Ole Days! 😂. Thank you Tammy and Chris for your love, for bringing back precious memories, and traditions. Praying your New Year will be filled with abundant Blessings, and peace that passes all understanding. All my love and prayers; Beijos, my friends ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🌈🌈🌈😇😇😇😘😘😘
If you want to add the ham put it in the day you plan on serving and reduce the liquid with the ham in there.
Collard Valley Cooks
Thanks for the help Tammy! Collards for one coming right up! ❤️🙏🌈😇😘 Family doesn’t know what their missing! ❤️
My granny made biscuits, white gravy, chocolate gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, and red eye gravy for breakfast on Christmas morning. She passed away years ago, but we carry on the tradition. Country ham is so salty and to be honest, I don’t love it, but it’s a memory for me so I eat a piece or two just on Christmas morning. Watching you reminded me of when I used to help her make Christmas breakfast.
Those are good memories Maegen!
Tammy you are the best old fashioned country cook. Love your show.
I like cooking everything for Christmas breakfast I do cocoa gravy as well like your apron sis
When my boy was little, I cut out our Christmas biscuits using cookie cutter hearts and stars, He called them "wonder star biscuits". My mom put bacon grease in the pan and dipped the biscuit and turned them over before baking. Yum
Merry Christmas Tammy and Family!
🤗❄❣🕯🐦⛄🦌🎄🎁
It's truly been a pleasure visiting with you in the kitchen and learning some great recipes and tips and, listening to your stories.
Have a blessed day.
Merry Christmas to y’all!! I was born on Christmas Day!! So that’s kinda like you’re making me breakfast now too!!
Merry Christmas Chris, Tammy, and girls. Love all of you.

Love watching you guys it is so relaxing
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Have a blessed day!
I use Southern Biscuit self-rising flour. My Mama does too. I do buy White Lily bread flour when I make loaves/rolls.
Nice job on this video... I like listening to you two talk throughout the video...
I'm from Virginia and I like the way your breakfast looks

Greetings from California,Happy Blessed and Prosperous New year. Breakfast look so good just missing Ham😀, never had Red eye gravy sound interesting, (love biscuits and white sausage gravy) like my grits minus the sugar. I will try your Biscuit recipe , look so good, God bless y’all ❤️🌹
We texans love y'all!!
I needed a little Christmas 🎄 in July.
How about cheese on your grits? It’s dogone good! Sharp white cheddar oh gosh!! ❤️😛😋😍I just love you Tammy and Chris!!
A late Merry Christmas by 2 years. LOL. Your Christmas breakfast was hectic but it all pulled together in the end. Voila! Best breakfast ever! Many Thanks!
Putting buttermilk ( or regular if that's all you have) on top of the biscuits make them soft 👍🥰
Merry Christmas Tammy and Chris! Got a 25 lbs prime rib! Cut it in half and one in the oven and one in the smoker on hickory!! You all have a very Merry Christmas!!
Yummy!
Geez, I cannot find prime rib here. A few places have it at Xmas. I love it but find filet mignon is cheaper here. What did you have to pay for a 25 pound prime rib? I think it would be a minimum of $250 here. Bet it will be great. Roanoke,Va.
@@lindap.p.1337 That prime rib was from a grocery store called HyVee. It was 299.00! Once a year I will pull everything out of the hat and treat my family and friends to a wonderful meal! We had 18 over to eat!
@@lindap.p.1337 I have to check with Chris we have a discount meat store here that sells to restaurants
Hi Tammy, I love how you make your big ole biscuits, I watch you all the time but I can't get them right. You are so much like The Hillbilly Kitchen, calm as can be in the kitchen.
I love Becky too !
She is a great little cook for sure..
Tammy is always telling Chris where to stand 😂, when it really doesn’t matter girl!! 😂 It’s all good. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 ♥️

I know what you mean about the weather. I am 64 and growing up in Chattanooga Tennessee you could just about bet your life it would be snowing in Christmas Eve as coming out of church at midnight it would be snowing like the dickens!! I am now in Lawrenceville Georgia and we are in the 60s today!! Blessings to you for a healthy and prosperous new year!
65 here today in East Tennessee
Winning every meal.
I have a blending fork it is good for more than blending. I just love it.
I love to watch you cook . I bet your kitchen smells awesome right now 💕💕
Love to you amazing people from London xxx
I bought an old fashioned sifter because of you. It's just like the one my Mama used. The kind with the turning handle.
Nice!
