I came for some of your delicious fried okra.😊 Can't take even the slightest scent of salmon but your patties look great and I didn't smell a thing 😂. Love watching you cook and your kitchen is so pretty!! ❤
Love the new stove. And oh girl you are looking goood. I like frying in cast iron best. Wet your hands. Pretty doesn't taste any better.
You got me wanting to fry okra and buttermilk
I leave the bones in . You will never know it. Good for you! I am from Alabama.
My Favorite meal!! Sometimes I like corn with my potatoes I wish I could have some!! Love from Birmingham AL❤❤❤
My mother always made a white sauce to go with her salmon. I prefer without but that is the way my mother cooked.
I love salmon patties but not with that much flour I like the the taste of salmon to come thru more but everyone likes different things Now I want some okra lol
So Excited for You Tammy to finally get a Stove/Oven that cooks food in a consistent and timely manner! You can easily tell that your food is cooking evenly. Both, the Salmon & Okra looked BEAUTIFUL! YAY!!! I Love Your whole Kitchen set up!
Very Classy & such an efficient work space.
Michele 💕
I’m hungry for this meal….
Looks delicious, we love salmon patties!
I get rid of skin and bones too.
Me too❤
Very nice kitchen!!!
It boggles my mind when people take the bones and skin off canned salmon, growing up momma mixed everything together, but we had canned (jarred) wild salmon from the river so there was no worry.
When I gave birth to my 3rd baby, my MIL came to my house the day we came home. She made Salmon Patties, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans and it was THE best meal I ever had. I watched her cook the meal while sitting at the kitchen table with my baby laying on my chest and my two sons running around all excited. Just brings back the feeling of warmth, love and comfort. Questions ... what do you do with your left-over frying oil?
We put it in a sealed container and dispose of it
After working in salmon canneries in Alaska for several years I will NEVER again buy canned Pink Salmon! Red Salmon (aka Sockeye Salmon) yes.
You need learn how to keep your fingers curled when you chop! It will protect them from the chefs knife. You can keep the knife against the flat side of the second sections of your fingers and always keep the thumb behind... im sure there are some yt videos on this subject. Those knives can be really sharp and dangerous.
Chrissy from New Zealand and I can hear both of you. Love your channel 😊✌️💜
Its Wednesday morning about 3:30 . Ive got the flu, i missed Sunday morning church and Idk if I'll go tonight
Oh no I hope you feel better soon!
Yes
Chris isn’t very loud… Tammy is loud and clear.!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I sure do like this video. The crab cakes and okra and creamed potatoes 🤌🤌🤌. Y'alls stove is awesome! ❤
Not my kind of food on this one ! lol
My mother always used flour for okra because that’s what Daddy liked. I like self rising corn meal!
I take the skin off but I love those bones. I am a Wisconsin girl transplanted to Bradenton, FL just south of Tampa
Memphis, Tennessee
Do you ever put mayo in the mix,I can never get my orka like yours
I haven't
I make mine like you do but i also add a couple tablespoons of mayo to mind. They’re not as dry.
From Alabama 👏 love y'all
Hi! Beautiful dinner. Very very nice 😊 Your kitchen is stunning, and the echo is gone when you speak! Hope you enjoyed your meal. Take good care, folks. From New Hampshire 🍁
I love your show and I'm so glad your kitchen turned out perfect
I put green onion in them and bell peppers as well
Sounds good ❤
I’m from Charlotte N.C I love all yourcooking
I love salmon Pattie’s from southern Illinois
Hey there Tammy and Chris, I'm in Daytona Beach ⛱️ watching y'all
I use my juice in my mix
My gma taught us to leave everything in skin-bones- juice etc give it better taste also we used -1/4 flour-1/4 meal-onions-egg-little black pepper…Thx ..Atlanta GA🙏🏾❤️❤️
Leaving the bones in also gives you more calcium.
Ok I’m confused. I am watching the live okra and salmon show and you said it was Friday night. ??? It’s Tuesday night here. Hence confused. Just want to say to Chris sorry about Braves loss. I was hoping otherwise. Now Astros are playing poorly and who knows what will happen but Phillies ran roughshod over Arizona tonight. Decimated! Just wanted to commiserate about Braves.
Susan in Houston
It was originally a live on Facebook on Friday
That stove is awesome. What a beautiful, amazing kitchen. Gas is so nice. You can regulate it. I have only electric and it’s so hard to get used to. Love watching you in your new, beautiful kitchen.
Love watching y'all. Great videos. Yummy yum. From Tennessee, NASHVILLE. 👍👍👍👍😀❤️💕♥️
I love your new kitchen!
I made some ( Salmon PATTIES ) BUT I LIKE TO ADD LITTLE FLOUR & CORNMEAL, WHITE Onion & GREEN PEPPERS , SOMETIMES I WILL ADD CRAB MEAT
I love your stove, I love my stove it's smaller, but it's GAS! Yours is my dream stove. With that heater, it's wonderful. 😊
And I’ve always made my okra with corn meal “just like mama did” but yours looks so good I’m gonna try it your way next time!
If you grew up with electric what made you want gas just curious.I love my electric stove it’s all I’ve ever used though but I have double oven to and flat top burners
My mama and myself has only had a gas stove,I am 65 years old.My daughter has a electric stove and she hates it.But that's what they have in her apartment building.
I love to cook for my kids and grandkids!! Best of times when we’re all around the supper table
I'll make sure I make the orka by your recipe 😋
I’m so sorry I missed your live. Just getting to watch and saw your sweet little silver toy poodle. We had one for 16 years. So adorable! Love your channel and recipes. ❤️
Oh I forget the buttermilk
Iowa
Looks and sounds delicious 😋 Blessings your way 🙏❤️
I make Salmon patties at lunch because my son doesn’t like the smell of salmon cooking. Take skin off but crush bones with fork. Good source of calcium. I get my natural vitamins in food as much as I can. 78 and still going strong. We grew up with food from the garden and farm. Much different food available today. Love the fried okra. Fried foods don’t hurt you.
I am (Irene from Iowa.) Central Iowa.
I bought one of those can openers from Harriett Wright. I love it so much. Great for arthritis hands.
I just bearly, cannot understand him.
Texas USA watching now
Love your show!!! My mother always used flour in fried okra because meal got under her teeth!!! Walnut, MS😂
@kaylweatherly I am right down the road from you in Collierville TN!! 👍❤️😊
Charleston SC! My favorite meal!
"Your salmon patties look delicious...I know they are!" "We love okra...mine does not usually turn out very good. I watched your prep on your okra... a game changer for me! Can't wait to try your version! Thanks!"
Just curious....why did ya'll leave St. Mary's?
I've asked why they've moved 3 times since I've been watching and she never answered me
@@kimcrouse3236I thought she mentioned they wanted to be closer to her gamily/girls????
To be closer to family
@@jenjoy3215Yes, they talked about this before they moved.
Thanks. I was just curious. @@CollardValleyCooks
How many children do you and Chris have? because a while ago I thought you said you have 3 girls not 2?
2 + 1 of their friends
Great combination meal 😋
I hear both you and Chris but can't type in the chat. AUBURN, ALABAMA!
Our football team plays until the weekend before Christmas almost every year of the last 16 years. They’ve won 9 Texas State Championships in those 16 years. The Mighty Carthage Bulldogs!! Scott Surratt the miracle working Head Coach.
That another misstep I make using meal😢
We had a family reunion in Ranger Texas years and years ago and we met up some relatives at an aunt and uncles home, she was cooking okra in the largest iron skillet I’ve ever seen, I think it probably had five pounds of okra in it which she had picked out of her beautiful garden that morning. There were so many good cooks in our family, not so many any more though, lots of the meals families eat now come from fast food restaurants. Okay, I’ve always cooked okra in cornmeal because that’s how my momma did it, but I will try it in buttermilk at least once to see if we like it better. 😊
yes I can hear both!
We love salmon Pattie’s. I’m going to my brothers house tonight to make him some salmon Patties. He must have not had any in awhile. Last time we talked about them he reminded me he bought 3 cans. Bless him!
Sure glad you have your shoes I don’t like looking. At your feet
Tennessee, yes I hear Chris
I get rid of the bones and most of the skin, but always use my juice for flavor and moisture.
Me too ❤
I use my juice too!
My cats get the bones and skins.
My boyfriend's aunt always picks the bones out, then eats them! Yuck!! 🤢
She said her and her sisters have been doing it since they were kids!! She thinks that's the best part!
In my opinion, the best part is the small chunks of salmon!
I use more cornmeal, than I do flour.
@@juanitaproctor1938
My mom loves the bones, skins, and juice.
I'll try adding juice to mine next time.
I use cracker crumbs on the outside of the patties as a breading, but I think I'll try flour mixed in next time.
The chunks of salmon are the best.
I steal a few bites whenever I make salmon patties.
I never eat the patties, just made them for my father when he wanted them.
I love fried okra.
I think I'll try making those into patties.
It'll be much easier because when using corn meal the coating tends to fall off when you shallow fry individual pieces.
Squash in patties would be good too.
I do too😊
Sarah from Ridge Spring South Carolina

Brings back lovely memories when I was a kid
What a beautiful stove what brand is it ?

That’s so funny to me! I remember when my girls were little and I was making creamed potatoes. I realized that I didn’t have any milk but I had sour cream💡I thought to myself, ‘well, sour cream is a dairy product so….’ I thought I was having a lightbulb moment!!! They were the best creamed potatoes I had ever made! Prior to that, I had never heard of anyone using sour cream in creamed potatoes!
Yes , Chris is coming through loud and clear .
I’m watching you from Saugatuck Michigan
❤❤Always Nice when You and Chris are in the kitchen together, Great team💯. Love the Salmon Recipes, like my mama used to make them❤
