Malaysian here as well as a native English speaker, you'll mostly survive with English no problem but you'll have to learn how to order food in their native language, which isn't that hard to pick up at all.

I was working in Taiwan for 3 years and lost weight 'til I was 65kgs. Ever since I returned to Malaysia 2 years ago, my weight swelled up to 75kgs! Jimmy, as long as you're in Malaysia with iChang, you're gonna be putting on at least a lil' bit of weight. Because the food in Malaysia is so *GOOD* !
When i was a kid 25 years ago. I love doing what jimmy doing. Separating chicken/fish/beef from rice when eating mixed rice. Home or restaurant... its true. Eating mixed rice with teh ais makes the tummy bold.. hahaha.. u have to order air suam(plain water) to drink little during eating. And only drink teh ais 5 minutes after finish eating mixed rice. And we dont get big tummy..
