Trains in the 1980s - Knottingley and Thornaby Depots - 31st July 1988

This was a Sunday afternoon visit to first Knottingley Depot, and then Thornaby. The first an only time I visited either depot with the camcorder.
My notes taken that day state that the following locos were at Knottingley:

For Thornaby, again, the notes say that the following locos were present, but I can't be sure they all feature in the video, in fact they probably don't, because I took took numbers as well, not just notes for the sake of the video. Anyway, I include the full list below for those of you who are interested.

Knottingley was one of the depots I always wanted to visit .class 47's were seen frequently around the network accept for those allocated to Knottingley
They were a used exclusively on MGR workings to Eggborough power station and were fitted with slow running gear

Youd never believe now looking at Thornaby thst once it was the biggest marshalling yard in Europe
