Ridden in a lot of Asphalt Dump Trucks and Tack Truck dad ran Asphalt for years first stick shift I drove was a 76 Ford F600 Dump Truck hauling Ford Back Hoe and Fire Wood
I've mentioned to you that I have seen asphalt paving before from the pedestrians perspective. But I've never seen it from the dump trucks perspective, this was freaking awesome. I watched all those hand signals just as you did, I think you and I were in sync. Although I must admit I was surprised he kept having you raise and lower the box a bunch of times. I am guessing some asphalt was sticking to your box, and needed to be given a little what for. And no, Covid didn't go away, as we all know now, its gotten far worse.
I work in the milling company u guys are the bloodline for us hulling old asphalt and getting new one but there’s some that are lazy af but I’m thinking of starting my own dump truck company, any tips?
Have you ever torn down a powerline? On my first job as an inspector we tore down two in one shift. Granted it was night time but we did. The power company wasn't too happy.
@its skinny icne just enough so it remains flush with the rollers on the paver pretty much barely applying pressure oh and be sure to roll up your mud flaps before you start
When it comes to brakes, heat is the enemy. Riding the brakes at slow speeds doesn’t necessarily hurt the braking system but of course friction is involved therefore the brakes will need to be replaced eventually
It is hard for those who left their paint behind!! Lol I see a lot of blue and white and black and red stripes on some of the frame work at some of the asphalt plants. It’s tight. Just have to remember the shape of your truck and ease into position
In Georgia, a tri-axle dump truck is not recognized. You are only allowed to have the two drive axles and your steer axles on the ground and you’re only allowed to carry a maximum total gross weight to include a vehicle and a load of 64,000 pounds. If you were on an interstate in Georgia you are only allowed to be 53,000 pounds total
Hauled asphalt for seven years Scale house never helped us out that much signs everywhere says driver is responsible for locating truck under the silo If you weren’t in the right spot they drop it over your tailgate seen them drop it right on top of the cab and hood couple of times especially if it was late at night and they were getting tired

Yup! Don’t do it. Costs and parts are ridiculous. Work for a big company and ride the clock!
Thanks for these videos Dan "The Man" very helpful..
Thank you
You look like a nice guy and I wanna give you a hug😊😊
A beautiful Video how much they calculate by the hour

I never got anything overhead in my dump truck or in my roll off truck. I hope it never happens
Must’ve had blind drivers like how the hell they not see the power lines seriously
Did not know the spreader pushes you. Thanks
Ya we just ride the brake to ensure we stay against the spreader as it moves us along.
@its skinny icne just enough so it remains flush with the rollers on the paver pretty much barely applying pressure oh and be sure to roll up your mud flaps before you start
Good morning Dan when you riding your brakes on your dump truck does it hurt the brakes doing the job that you do
When it comes to brakes, heat is the enemy. Riding the brakes at slow speeds doesn’t necessarily hurt the braking system but of course friction is involved therefore the brakes will need to be replaced eventually
sir.... Let me ask to you...
What is kind type lisence for driving dump truck..? Like tri axel or quad axle dump truck?
Hi ,
I would like to ask do you leave the gear on D or N while the spreader pushes you forward ?
I wonder how much do the driver make a week down south.
Probably stupid question but is it hard to drive under the silo to get filled up? Looks super tight

@@dansvlogtrucking I'm just wondering considering my CDL and stuff like that just makes me a little cringy I dont want to break stuff or run into it
Ya get used to it. Don’t fear
Watching from manitoba Canada 🇨🇦☺
Awesome!!!
How does the m drive do when paving?
Front back and middle get your paperwork and tarp
Boom!
I know Hwy 17 when I see it 🤟🏽
Back when you were with this company how many hours were your averaging?
How do you keep it from binding on the drivers side in the paver? Which way to turn the wheel to correct it?
I know what you mean. We have to very slowly turn away from the paver but not too much that we bind up in the paver
Wow. One truck load puts down a lot of road.
Yes and no, it depends how thick the paver is laying it out
@@dansvlogtrucking as long as they are not rushing you or bumping your truck
What is the name of the license that I can get
Hey brother what’s the rules with tri axles in Ga ? I’m looking to purchase a truck but don’t know what allowed

@@dansvlogtrucking would you recommend still getting a triaxle but run with the lift axle up?
Hey Dan if I’m not mistaken don’t you own a grass cutting business as well?
I retired from everything and just drive trucks now.
What kind of dump trucks do you recommend I’m currently located in Savannah
A Tri-Axle so you can work in SC too
I’m about to start running an asphalt dump truck any tips?
I saw him reply to a similar comment. Don’t’ do it, it’ll cost a lot of money to repair your truck etc. he said join a big company and work off them
Hello= You might want to check your truck engine it sounds a little like a lawn mower at startup =Bye
Lol

Does that affect your brakes
Nope!
Is this a governmental job
He works for a dump truck company and they probably have a contract with GDOT
Aweful lot of stupervisors standing around with their arms crossed, on their hips or hands in their pockets. Real efficient use of manpower lol
We can always spot them with their shiny new safety vests and clean white hard hats
i was thinking the same thing
