If the 900D had Dolby vision and 8K 120hz support I would be super excited. Until this happens either with Sony or Samsung, I cannot justify buying a new 8K tv. this is coming from someone with a QN800B that I use for 8K pc gaming

MiniLED kind of needs to use more of the processing and extras to hit that "better" spot in brightness and so on. But that means it cannot always be used in film maker mode. Because that removes the processing. MinilED is at a disadvantage and needs to have active stuff and enhancing contrast bla bla.
Why did Sony proudly announce they can do 3x more zones now that they have the new backlight, and do it the same way they like to do it? It does matter as long as they can "process it".
The Sony 4K nits Mastering Monitor is a Dual-LCD panel. It's costly and smaller size. But it can be done.
I’ll be intrested when they make a 8k as oled. I saw the z2 in a store that thing was off the chain.

59:21 its sad that G4 is only 1500 nits after calibration, 2300 in vivid so, nowhere from 3000 as much as i heard
8k is important a bigger TV then 55 looks ugly at 4K I even upscale my my 55 to 6K if my video card can handle I can tell it looks better at 6k or 8k.

Is it just me ... or does the QN900D has deeper blacks than the OLED S90D ?
Nope, OLED always has deeper blacks but in a bright room, bright direct light may raise S90D blacks

@@stopthefomo May I ask how is that possible? It's an OLED and self-emissive. Why would direct light affect it and not a miniLED.
@@Swecan76 i think it has something to do with the QD-oleds special nature, being a top emmission panel (probably the only downside compared to bottom emission, ups are: better viewing angles, less heat creating, higher brightness), it does not have a polarizing layer, and that lets the QD-s get excited by light some way

I keep asking you guys as reviewers, you continually show nothing but 4k content, personally i need to know how good upscaling is with 1080p lower resolution and streaming,
Rtings gives a score for how each tv reviewed upscales, but they do it at 480p. If the TV can upscale 480p, really well, 1080p won't be a problem.
sony 8k 2025 with the new XR processor and with the new backlight master drive. The ps 5 pro will be able to game at 8k with their new PSSR. I'm guessing all of this. The new bravia 9 4k will be a game changer
There’s nothing right now that can get 8k with decent fps. Not even the RTX 4090 can run it at those specs and I doubt the ps5 pro will be more powerful. I do wish you were right but I highly doubt it.
yeeeah i dont care about 8K just because samsung for some reason even sandbags their 4k flagship/QD-OLED lineup, only putting best tech like processor in 8K - that's not a good thing lol, definitely not a + for buying 8K specifically. Joker nails it 11:50
Their 4k lineup doesn't need that extra processing power though. Why would it?

So maybe only 75" and 85" of the new Sony MiniLED. It's going to be pricy, hopefully both sizes will exist on sale in NA this time. If only those two sizes exist maybe they are more equal in quality this time.
Also likely they call it a master series.

I can't get past Samsung's idiotic refusal to support Dolby Vision. At this price I want a set that supports everything. it would cost them eight to twelve dollars per set to do it. It's ridiculous.

I'm late providing my comments for Sony and Brian's comment that Sony won't release a new 8k master series again this year. While most of you poo poo 8k, I have my own personal case for needing an 8k: I have an 8k Siny camera and take lots of videos in 8k. I also plan to purchase the new Sony Playstaion 5 Pro, which will play 8k. My family room is surrounded by huge windows, and I need a bright TV
My experience with Samsung's 4k TVs from the first release has been really disappointing. But if Sony doesn't release an 8k this year. I'll be forced to replace my 8 year old Sony 75 inch 900f (which is still amazing) with the Samsung 85 inch 900D.
Sony should be ashamed!
Love your use case! The QN900D should meet your gaming needs even better than the Sony so I do think you’re on the right track!
Sony tv's this year will still be using the same 2021 XR processing if the leaks are true.. My guess is they will be coming out with a 8K tv next year when they boast about their new upscaling system for their tv's.. I would definitely wait until next year if your dead set on buying a new 8K tv to see what Samsung and Sony will offer. I could be wrong and Sony has completely given up on 8K but I highly doubt it
