    👀 WATCH Indonesian Street Food in Jakarta, Indonesia: • INDONESIAN Street Food...
    To start our Indonesian street food tour in Jakarta we went to a local shop for bakso for breakfast. Bakso is a really popular Indonesian food, and one of the best street foods in Indonesia. The bakso was dense and flavourful, some of the best bakso we’ve ever had!
    We continued our Jakarta Indonesia street food tour tasting soto padang, nasi lewit and bubur ayam. The popular Indonesian food of bubur ayam was incredibly tasty and flavourful. The bubur ayam was packed, definitely the largest bubur ayam we’ve ever tasted.
    To finish up our ultimate Indonesian street food tour in Jakarta we went for gulai and sate padang. These are two foods you must eat in Indonesia.
    We hope you enjoy our ultimate Indonesian street food tour in Jakarta tasting bakso and bubur ayam at two legendary spots, plus loads of other Jakarta Indonesia street foods. Stay tuned for more street food adventures next week!

    wow, for last couple of year, i think your the first foreign youtuber visit and taste street food on south Jakarta area, even try the bakso on gandaria and nasi liwet (not single foreign youtuber even know this place), bubur aiyam barito , gultik bulungan 👍👍👏👏❤❤ mostly they visit kota tua, monas , sabang never touch south of jakarta area. You missed the famous Sate Ayam RSPP. FYI if the rice cake wrap with banana leaf we called Lontong but if wrap it with coconut leaf we called Ketupat , on Sate Padang they used coconut leaf on the rice cake called ketupat 😉.

    3:20 The rough looking ones are called "bakso urat" (Muscle/Tendon) . But actually, it's not really tendons nor muscle, but meat that attached to the bones.
    Usually the meat on that area feels softer but crunchier, therefore Indonesian people like it.😊

    I like how you guys research beforehand so you’d know what you’re getting, but unfortunately what you have here at 11:18 is not nasi liwet from Solo in Central Java. You might have noticed that the rice wasn’t cooked in coconut milk.
    It can be confusing even for us Indonesians, but there are two nasi liwets:
    1.) The first one is rice that is cooked in coconut milk and chayote, called sega liwet ꦱꦼꦒꦭꦶꦮꦼꦠ꧀ in Javanese, it hails from Central Java and it has that creamy and sweet flavor profile. It has that “wet” look to it.
    2.) The other one is sangu liwet ᮞᮍᮥᮜᮤᮝᮨᮒ᮪ in Sundanese which is cooked with aromatics but usually without coconut milk, it comes from West Java and that’s the one that you had. It has a “dry” look and is commonly enjoyed with salted fish, fried stuff and fresh veggies on the side.
    Unfortunately, both are called “nasi liwet” in Indonesian (our national language), hence the confusion. Hope you’ll be able to try sega liwet next time, it’s very different from sangu liwet.
    Cheers!

    • @HungryTwoTravel
      @HungryTwoTravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for the info, Kilan. That's interesting to know there are two versions, and definitely can make it confusing that they both have the same name. We love learning about the foods that we are trying, so we appreciate the clarification. We hope we can try the other version as well, we'll have to look out for it as we travel around. Thanks a lot for watching and for your comment 😊🧡

    • @KilanEatsandDrinks
      @KilanEatsandDrinks 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HungryTwoTravel you’re most welcome! I appreciate your passion when it comes to food. I hope my explanation didn’t make it even more confusing for you. It’s basically two different dishes from two different cultures which happened to be called the same name in another language.
      It’s like how there’s jiaozi 餃子 (Chinese dumpling) and there’s knedlíky (Czech dumpling) but they’re both called “dumplings” in English. There’s sega liwet ꦱꦼꦒꦭꦶꦮꦼꦠ꧀ (Javanese coconut milk rice) and there’s sangu liwet ᮞᮍᮥᮜᮤᮝᮨᮒ᮪ (Sundanese aromatic rice) but they’re both called “nasi liwet” in Indonesian.

    • @HungryTwoTravel
      @HungryTwoTravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @KilanEatsandDrinks no that's super understandable and really interesting! You don't think of it that way but you're right. With so many different dialects in Indonesia it's understandable that that happens. Thanks again we love the info!

    Anyway, there are many kinds of bakso variation, try bakso malang (aka bakwan malang) originally from Malang city which contains many kinds inside a bowl, Bakso Aci, bakso Beranak (it's like what you ate but it has "children" inside hence the name beranak/giving birth.
