The railroad does still haul freight, and now and then does use the 18 to haul the freight if the diesels are not available. However, on this occasion it was for the photo charter we were hosting, and the freight cars were empty.
They aren't allowed to run over 12mph with passengers on board. We intended on running at least one of the run-bys at Genesee over 12mph, so when unloading at Genesee we made sure everyone (aside from the necessary crew) was off the train.
Where did the 12 mph speed limit come from? The FRA has regulations on track speed. Class 1 track is 10 mph for freight and 15 mph for passenger trains, it does not matter if any passengers are on the train or not. Class 2 track is 25 mph for freight and 30 mph for passenger trains.
Wow, That is an excellent Video. Nice looking, That railroad is a peaceful area.
Thank you. Sure is, the railroad is located in a very beautiful region, certainly worth a visit.

VERY COOL! thanks for the info!
wow its really moving at 3:30...I thought they weren't allowed to push a certain speed? Like 25 mph or something because of the tracks.

What camera was used?
We used 5 camera's, a Nikon D5200, a GoPro HERO 3, a GoPro HERO 3+, a Canon Vixia HFM301, and a Sony HDR-CX550.
It would be awesome if Everett 11 met A&A 18 for a doubleheader one day!
Why
@@DynamoProductions-trains nothing, it’s just that it would be awesome in the future if 11 met 18, that’s all!
But there’s no way that would happen without one being trucked. And neither engine needs to leave where they’re operating.
@@DynamoProductions-trains My point exactly
