Fantastic work! Great narration by TrevorPalVA and excellent camera work! I hope to participate in another A&A charter, if you decide to repeat this one!
What would have been a spectacular sight would have been Arcade & Attice #18 steaming softly on a side track when Nickel Plate 765 came through Attica in 2015.
+renegadeoflife87 Regretably that isn't possible, the Arcade & Attica no longer operates trackage all the way to Attica, the operational line ends in North Java, and steam operations can only operate as far as Curriers.
When I hit the lottery, I'm buying the A&A. First order of business will be to rebuild the whole line to FRA Class 3 from Arcade Junction to Attica. After that #14 goes into the shop for a restoration. Why have a Ten Wheeler if you don't have track to RUN it on?
Track to Attica was washed out in 1957. It was too cost prohibitive to rebuild, and I believe there weren't any freight customers anymore on that section. Why doesn't the 4-6-0 run? Why can't steam go north of Curriers? Didn't the steam engine pull the train all the way to the end of the line northward on the photo special in 2014? Or did a diesel? How did it become that the A&A has the only operational steam locomotive in all of NY state? And why call it Arcade and Attica anymore? Why not call it Arcade and North Java? They will never run to Attica ever again. Who owns the line that the A&A interchanges with in Arcade? NS, or some other railroad? What state in the US has the most operating steam locomotives? Colorado? NY and Delaware tie for having only one steam powered tourist railroad each. PA my home state right now has about 4 operating railroads with steam, Strasburg, Steam into History, Reading and Northern, and Everett. WK&S, NH&I, and Steamtown are diesel right now, and EBT is not running.
Rob Krasinski Steamtown has steam again, Baldwin #26 has been revived. But it really does seem like the A&A is the last regular steam service in NY. There just isn't enough funds for anything anymore.
Thanks! Most of the attendees were very good about staying in or behind one of the designated photo lines, only 2 stepped in-front at any point, and they each only did so only once, and we had them stay in the lines from then on, and both did. We hope you'll join us one day for a charter, the more the merrier!
What is it with people and rushing in front of trains just before they get to the crossing? I'm talking to you Ford Raptor driver at around the 9-10 minute mark... Nice video though, I've really been enjoying your coverage of the A&A.
My Granddad and I were supposed to be on that 1993 photo special, but I got called in to work unexpectedly. Never got the chance to take Granddad on the A&A again before he passed away in 2004.
Nice video. great to see the 18 on the move once more. :)
SleeTheSloth Thanks! If charters happen to be your thing, we have another with the 18 coming this October. www.dynamopro.net/#!charters/c66t
Fantastic video!
Thanks.
Nice to see arcade and Attica #18.
We always enjoy seeing the 18
So 18 is not operating at the moment. When will she be coming back?
When it does.
Fantastic work! Great narration by TrevorPalVA and excellent camera work! I hope to participate in another A&A charter, if you decide to repeat this one!
Thank you, we hope to see you at the A&A if we do hold another.
Great work!
Glad you enjoyed

Rob Krasinski Not going into all the technical details. But money is a problem. Hence the part "when I hit the Lottery." Then cost is no object.

I like the Canadian national 4 chime!
Fantastic! Why is this not a dvd already??
Thanks! We made this an online upload rather than a DVD so it can be used for online advertising for future events.
Great documentary! Glad to help out on the project!
Thanks! You're assistance was greatly appreciated, Trevor, hopefully we'll work together again soon.
Nice!
Thank you!
There's always one or two tudballs who won't stay behind the photo line. Great video.

I'd like to. It all depends on the distance from home. I see you regularly at New Freedom.
I am thinking about saving up money to go there
Good place, it's worth the trek

Thank you, we hope to return to the A&A soon, and hopefully host another charter.

What whistle is she wearing? Definitely a 6 chime, but not sure beyond that.
A Canadian National 4 chime.
Really?! Guess my ears can't be trusted anymore lol. It sounds wonderful, though!
