Interesting, I did a similar thing with myself when dealing with Anxiety and Depression, but I used anime characters instead of comic heros. The two characters that I saw myself as were easily Tomoko (from Watamote) and Shinji Ikari (from Neon Genesis Evangelion). Seeing them struggle and overcome their anxieties and depressions helped me to do the same, and Evangelion restores my sense of self worth (before it I was super suicidal).

My favourite It’s Spider-Man, too! My second though would have to be Daredevil (Matt Murdock) probably because he has a lot of flaws and still finds a way to help people. He’s human in that way. He also has an actual disability that he’s learned to use as a strength rather than a weakness.
My favourite superhero has to be doctor Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. Despite being mutated by the Gamma radiation, he always manages to be kind and to help people as much as he can.
A superhero the really helped me was *Superman*. Specially on the comic book *Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow* it shows the most vulnerable experience for him, where he feels lost, without an entity.

One could argue that Batman is a good choice. He's not necessarily super by nature. He shows us that you don't need to have superpowers per se to be a hero in this world.
Patrick Daubert Batman is a highly functional sociopath that keeps the Joker alive to remind himself of what would happen if he uses his skills and knowledge to actually kill people. He keeps sending all of the to Arkham because if there is hope for them is hope for himself. He also hasn't been able to move on from his parents death and the anxiety he has of loosing his family. He is unable to maintain a healthy long lasting relationship with any women due to the fear of them leaving (or dying) He has gone to the length of reviving his deceased son instead of accepting and mourning his death. Yeah, he showed he can easily defeat the entire Justice League including Green Lantern and The Martian with nothing but intelligence but to what end, just to feel less guilty of an outcome that was logical if you fight on the shadows against criminals and paranormal characters. So, yeah, not the most suitable for this type of therapy but it works for me. No, I am not a sociopath, my empathy level is too high, although my social skills are those of a sociopath.
I've always been more of a supervillain type, tbh. They always seem so powerful, so in control, so large and in charge... at least for the next thirty minutes.
