      I find it funny that people will complain that Remnant basically has no story and most of it is garbage and then praise Dark Souls deep lore. They did the same thing. Theres not much to the main story if you don't read anything and it seems shallow, but each world ahs its own deep lore and the earth storyline connects them all together.

    Fae's creation story was something I didn't read during the play thru. It's very alegorical to have them born from electrical storms, because electricity has polarity aka two opposite charges. If you seperate those charges you create tension that leads to lightning and thunder when they finally merge! But the worlds that collided (fae and elves) seem to be of opposite charges too. So everything in the "world" of Losomn his based on duality.

    Great video! I think the idea behind the ending was that all matter was converted to energy and returned to the Index, and afterward the Index exploded in a new Big Bang. Clem used her ability to impose a kind of blueprint on this new Big Bang in order to recreate the multiverse she knew.

    I kind of like how fantastical the ending portrays the story though, makes me think loosely of The Dark Tower. Hell, in Secret World, the Labyrinth was indeed a location between realms that connected the realms. Them putting this computer-like twist to it, the Keeper, it kind of makes it all sound intricate and advanced.

    Really fun video! Some things though, Tal'Ratha isn't a guardian, he's a navigator. Astropaths are able to see into the future to an extent to plot courses and avoid obstacles. As well, the mirrors on Losomn are likely destroyed because they lead into the mirror realm where the other half of the Imposter King resides.

    You can't take Mudtooth's stories as fact. More than once he takes credit for stories that the MC of 1 actually did. He also mentions the Iskal Queen living a few miles away because he doesn't understand how the world stones work.

    • @pillarmenn1936
      @pillarmenn1936 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      True but you can't say that he lies either as many of the stories that he does tell have happened as well. Mudtooth is more likely an unreliable narrator where its somewhat hard to tell if his stories are true or not.
      And to add, Mudtooth saying the Iskal Queen is nearby isn't him confusing how the world stones work (because just about everyone besides Cass knows how they work thanks to Founder and Wanderer), its likely that the Iskal Queen has indeed set up shop on Earth. Remember that Dwell has crossed over from Yaesha to Earth. That means realm travel is now possible for both sides when Haarsgard and the Destroyer killed the Guardians. And since the Iskal Queen is crazy enough to think she could merge the root with the Iskal, she's likely planning on invading Earth.

    From what I understand, Earth is meant to be the core world. It's not supposed to be able to let people travel between worlds the way we're able to. The existence of the Dreamers basically forced the multiverse to allow that to happen. To use the analogy of a Tree, it's the trunk and root of all worlds
    The Labyrinth is therefore the branches, a world that doesn't technically exist but kinda has to because of the way the multiverse works. It's a place where reality functions like a simulation, but is not necessarily a simulation in and of itself. The Keeper is essentially the administrator of the system that the universe functions off of. Each world is a leaf on the branches
    Essentially, the Root Homeworld is another iteration of the Core World. It's initially believed that the Root may have been an experimental bioweapon that accidentally attained sentience and overran its homeworld completely before corrupting the World Stone there. Therefore, they found a way to spread across worlds, slowly becoming a virus to the system as they wished to essentially cancel out Entropy and corrupt everything into being of them and killing everything else
    The Dreamers allowed the Root to infect the Core world, and therefore lead directly into the Labyrinth so as to reach every world. Us killing Haarsgard is what fully severed the Root from the Core world, but the damage was already done and they were still basically about to fully corrupt the multiverse. Remnant 2 involves us finally purging the virus and restoring the worlds by performing a data backup

    It is possible that Clementine was not able to get rid of the root, and all she did was "set time back" for a while, give us another chance (and a few more runs) until we find a permanent solution.

    Sometimes stalemate is victory.
    I hate that in the end we basically lost the fight, that we failed. But at the same time, we didn't. We beat the root, forced it to halt, forced it to become irrelevant for a time. Sure we need to purge it, we need to actually remove the virus, but for the time being? We contained the virus into a small usb drive, and we can deal with it at a later time.

    Remnant is NOT a shooter looter. All the gear you find is unique and can only be collected once. Each weapon is also fairly viable as it depends on upgrades much like a souls game. Its a procedurally generated third person shooter that leans more towards a soulslike.

    Are we to assume that in actuality, each of the traveler’s different major world plot scenarios do in fact play out into a single timeline for that world?
    In the losom plot scenarios, for example, one playthrough involves removing the coma inducing dagger from the king and killing the imposter. In the losom plot scenario from the dlc, the king is awake and the imposter dead.
    If each plot scenario does in fact happen, then that would suggest the pan guardian’s soul, which was freed in one scenario, would incarnate into the red doe which was saved in the other scenario.

    I think the lore about "The Core" is a bit confusing, but the labyrinth isn't The Core. The Keeper mentions that the The Core was corrupted and another had to be made, but there is only the one Labyrinth. But there are two Earths, one where the Root corruption began and the Earth we see in Chronos and the two Remnant games. From some scraps or lore and mudtooth's tales, which you have to take with some grains of salt, it looks like in the Root Earth the Root corruption was made as some attempt to fully understand the universe but due to it also being leveraged as a weapon it became an immortal force of destruction rather than creation.
    I think the game might use the appearance of a simulation to describe/portray how certain elements of its universe works, such as the keeper or the root corruption touching on the fundamental and more unknown forces of the universe and glitching out things. I'd say fixating on that misses a few of the more interesting points, there's a lot of motifs and conversations about resisting entropy and death, to achieve higher states of being for selfish causes. We see that in a lot of the bosses and storylines, and it's hidden in places within Root Earth's origins, it's a shame it's a bit too masked to really make it clear

The only thing that still somewhat confuses me is Losomn; specifically the name, Losomn. The other 'world names' aren't really world names. N'Erud is the name of what is either a mobilised planet or a planet-sized ship, that the game takes place on, and Yaesha is the name of the continent.

      Losomn strikes me as a country but because of the duality nature of it (especially with the mirror nature of the Fae) it is clear they're like Fae and Drow (hence Dran). I personally loved the Dran's side of things because it reminds me of Blood Born, and here I come being a Gunslinger/Invader badass that just obliterates them. It is rather interesting but given The One True King's state of being, I am thinking he was first to fall victim to the Root but perhaps the Assassin did so to keep the Root's approach in check... or stop it all together. Love the political intrigue the Fae wrestle with and the Crimson Prince himself desiring to kill the Usurper made for interesting dialog.

      There's speculation I saw on Reddit is that the Dreamer who became Annihilation has his mind snapped during the Core Earth's Dreamer Project's attempt to manipulate reality. Said Dreamer, now wanting to end what he considers torment, decides to go on rampage to kill everything to bring that to the end. The Root is probably the creation of that Dreamer.

    I swear they reused all the worlds;
    Yaesha is obvious.
    Rhom advanced and became N'Erud, all the statues have 4 arms like the king you kill for his rifle in Remnant for the ashes, and all teh dungeons have the same leaky black stuff, maybe they come from an 'Alternate' Rhom where the Root never attacked, but N'Erud is Rhom.
    And Losomn? Two worlds merged, I postulate 1 of them was Corsus, because they had elves. Losomn could easily be alternate Corsus without the bug people, but they're the same elves with the blue gray skin and pointed ears.
    And Earth is Earth, they even call it Root Earth.
    And Labyrinth is Labyrinth.
    I haven't seen anyone mention this anywhere yet and it seem really obvious.

    • @clownprince7
      @clownprince7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didnt think it was bare bones at all. I think the story is pretty deep and interesting tbh. I think it only seems bare bones unless you take the time and effort to piece together whats actually going on. N'erud for example has an insane storyline involing the Dryzr race's search for life and eventual contact with Alepsis Taura that led to their destruction, but unless you are paying close attention in cutscenes and listening to the full audio logs, you will miss most of if not all of whats going on.

    • @Relhio
      @Relhio ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@clownprince7 No no, you misunderstood my comment, I said it's bare bones as to how it is presented to the player through exposition and dialogue. I know very well the actual lore and descriptions of items put together an amazing story, which I mentioned. It's just that what the NPCs or cut scenes show to the player is very limited and don't explain much compared to what it really it.
      The first game had the same problem. There's almost nothing told to the player unless they start digging and reading.

    I personally hate the ending and absolutely HATE the idea in stories where everything is either in the character's head or is a simulation. It feels so cheap & pointless. It basically boils down to actions being meaningless, cause its NOT real. I wish writers would STOP doing this because it just makes me hate these products. Remnant 2 has so much to like, but the story ending just utterly ruins the game for me and I have zero desire to ever play again. But that's just me.

      I wish the opinion of "its a simulation so everything is meaningless" would just die already. Just because the story takes place in a simulation DOES NOT MEAN that everything that happened had no consequence. Meaningless in comparison to what exactly? Its not like we're shown anything outside the "simulation" if it really is that, so how exactly does nothing matter when it's all that we know?
      Go ahead, explain yourself without sounding like a dumbass.

  • @gunraptor

  • @ArcheWhatzitGonnaB3
    @ArcheWhatzitGonnaB3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is this just showing the canon progression, there seems to be some weird stuff that's pretty major being skipped?
    Faelin and Faerin both specifically claim to have slayed the One True King. It also didn't mention the book we find that explains the exact thought process of at least one Fae (probably most of them considering the other books we find), in which he's talking with a lawyer of sorts and explains that freedom is the Fae's main driving force and birthright, so taking someone else's freedom in pursuit of their own, should have no consequence. Some of the Fae take it upon themselves to rule over others, The Red Prince in particular takes it upon himself to protect the Fae that praise him, and refuses to let others have the freedom to deny him. Even the Council are torn between the Fae ways of doing what they want in a blind pursuit to find the traitor, and following the laws set by their king which stops them from doing just that.
    Even the Imposter King(s) fights seems to show this too as no Fae stand between you and the King when you fight, the boss doesn't call mobs and instead relies on his own powers to kill you, the Fae seem to simply not care, they know they can't overpower him so they simply fly away and let you two duke it out, if you kill the king, they're more free, if you die, nothing changes, stepping in to help is the only way they lose anything.
    Also, as far as the mirrors being shattered and whatnot goes, the portal you go through in the council chamber is definitely just a massive mirror, these mirrors were probably shattered as they lead to the other Fae realm, seeing as the Fae want freedom, it makes sense that they'd shatter the mirrors as they already lost some freedom in having one king and they definitely wouldn't want two kings. Which is also weird when you notice that the Council is only present in the light realm, while we only remove the dagger from the king in the dark realm. Adding on that there's not shown to be two Nimues or Nightweavers, but after you kill the Nightweaver, Nimue can finally sleep, but the Dran don't change. I'd imagine there's still a sleeping king and another pair of the Goddesses floating around somewhere, they never seemed to explain why the Nightweaver didn't attack the king in his sleep. Considering we had to go to the Nightweaver's realm of the Dran world in order to even fight her, it's not too farfetched to assume we killed the dark realm version of the Nightweaver and haven't dealt with the other yet.

    Think of it like this, the game is just a simulation and the original earth was corrupted like any software can be.
    The back rooms is a back door and is the closest thing between us the player and the software.
    That's why there's a gunfire games amulet in there, plus we need to be wearing founder ford's exsact loadout to open it....
    Like an admin.
    The npcs can't handle this information and thus the world is twisted in a way for them to make sense of it all.
    Maybe the archon class is the most powerful, after all it reminds me of
    Reminate from the ashes's Laberinth Armor......
    The Laberinth is where all worlds are connect.....where the creator made each world.....the creator being us, gunfire games.

    God man. I hope they make an open world, if you will, of remnant. Entering different worlds in the open world and finding rides, mounts, guns, and other fun stuff. Tying in all their worlds from corsus, to rohm of old, to the worlds of the fae, and, N'erud. If they make this game like a destiny style game with other players comming across each other the game itself could be endless. Every 24 hours the maps are scrambled like the maps in the game through every play through. Making the game itself more dinamic and diverse.
    Also, sorry for the rant. But the N'eruds story is badass in a sense. Entering the center of the galaxy with a plan to reemerge with a new galaxy forming around them they could start the journey of looking for life all over again but with Trillions of years ahead of every life that could form in the new galaxy. Atleast that was the Idea they had...
