    "So plants are dying out"
    hmm, sounds bad
    "But we can get them back"
    okay ... so no problem
    "yeah, but then it rains acid and every plant dies"
    Sounds terrible
    "btw, I guess the sun is going out"
    ... and the acid rain was your first concern?

      @@Marcusianery No, the sun will start to expand as it runs out of hydrogen and helium until it turns into a red giant. The core will continue to fuse heavier and heavier elements as it gets hotter and more dense. Earth will be irradiated and scorched into a lifeless rock long before that happens and eventually most of the inner planets will be absorbed by the expanding red giant. Nuclear fusion at the core will eventually stop when the core starts to fuse into iron. Once that happens our sun will no longer be able to maintain equilibrium with its own gravity and collapse in on itself and then explode in a supernova. It's too small to turn into a black hole so it'll wind up a white dwarf. This is, of course, billions of years in the future.

    The world of this game sounds horrific. I don't want to live forever, neither do I want my body "repossessed" by the government, and there are enough other people out there who hold bodily autonomy as an important boundary that I don't think the government could actually pass a law to force it... but they'd probably try if they had the chance. God, I hope they never do. Death is a part of life. It's sad, but I think it's one of the reasons why taking joy in the people and world around you are important- they, and you, won't be there forever.
    Remember, folks- the government doesn't own you, and the government *shouldn't* own you.

    • @GiRR007
      @GiRR007 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you really own something if you cant sell it or even give it away? If someone does indeed sell their body to the government then id say that yeah the government does own them. Something being a part of life doesn't mean it should continue to be part of life, disease is part of life and yet we routinely get rid of them, death is no different, the ultimate disease.

    It strikes me as a bit derivative of Altered Carbon in setting and premise, where it's a semi-dystopic, noire future where technology has allowed effective immortality and uncoupling the consciousness of a person from their original physical form, and the wealthy and powerful abuse it. But maybe it's more of an homage. And then again, if "immortality" is the trope, it's all derivative of the Epic of Gilgamesh.

    I think the fourth ending. The one where he can’t kill her and decides to end it is probably the most sad ending but also beautiful ending. I actually got this ending and in my book it is probably the canon ending. The ending that gets James freed and the chief punished as well as James reuniting with his wife

    This game reminds me of the show Altered Carbon show on Netflix, Similar premise where people are able to buy "sleeves" (lobotomized and/or functionally dead human bodies) in order to continue living and where the wealthy elite tended to get more choices in their new bodies. I honestly wonder if the creators if this game took any inspiration from the show.

    Didn't know anything about this game, but the opening, with that woman sitting next to you in the car felt so real. Don't know how they did it, but the woman had a 'presence' I'd not seen before. Perhaps VR games are like that all the time!
    But the more Harry explained, the less I liked it. Like the devs were gradually turning the 'bonkers' dial up, to see how mad the story could be.
    Still, very interesting, for all that.

    I wonder what they do with people with physical disabilities, like if you’re paralyzed at a young age, do they still take your body?
    Cause E class seems to be pretty minor inconveniences like, drug abusers, if you get through the withdrawals and detox, you get a pretty okay body after that.
    But like what if you are an acid or burn victim, do they let you keep your body or do they still take it and no one uses it?

    It's quite fun to think that green, the rich fella that abused his immortality the most was the first to notice that in that pace, the revival sistem would be simply unsustainable and that he needed to wipe the rich. Quite revolutionary aint it? in this type of game i would think there would be a rebel faction doing this kind of stuff. Reminds me of robin hood if he had zero morality and ethics

    why the fuck can't the Epic Games Store hire someone to write up such an eloquent and concise description, is it that fucking hard to describe something without the marketing jargon? no. it fuckin isn't. it only takes up 7 words.

      I mean in this game you cant modify your body with cybernetics but memory wise its the same concept the memory bank of this game and the AI bank of cyberpunk is near the same theyre both AI not knowing it because no matter the lifetimes one thing you cant keep with you in the games is your soul your soul is gone but your brain remains its all just coding of an AI to make you think youre still sentient when in reality youre already dead

    • @KyrieEleiso_n
      @KyrieEleiso_n 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like johnny silverhand he's dead and gone all the remained was a recreation of him as an AI but he doesnt even know it
