I have maybe a dozen good/close friends that I see a couple of times per year, that's it. The rest of the time, I'm happy being 'alone' and doing my own thing.
I can totally understand how toxic friendships can make you feel insecure about others, I am without the former.
One thing you have to remember is that the people you consider your friends may still think the same of you, just at a different level, or they have more/fewer. I never asked to be included in anything and was hardly ever asked to be, and I never really fit in anywhere until I was about 19.
Are you crying when your roommate is out because you're by yourself or because you want to be with her? You can be happy that she is enjoying herself.
Feel free to message me if you want to talk to someone.

Has the pandemic changed anything for you? Some people tell me that as it is a common problem for everyone, it gives everyone something in common.

believe it or not I felt more connected with my friends at home than when I was on campus! The pandemic did me some good mentally wise and allowed me to settle things and I got on a good path.
