There was a trooper that looked like this in Episode IV, He's the guy in the front who got the close-up shot before the stormtroopers blasted their way in.
That is exactly this one from oryginal SW. Older men blasted on first minutes, on first wave near door. Other guy with data of Death Star from Rouge One looks totally different.

Sadly he died in 1999. However his action figure is probably the most actor accurate one in the whole Black Series line, so here’s too you, Mr Eddon! You can also see him as one of Carl Grissom’s pals in ‘Batman’.
I'm really pleased at that butterfly joint. That's how I'd prefer they'd work, flaring out instead of collapsing into the chest. More natural to like shoulder blades and doesn't make the chest look bad.

If Hasbro can give a basic civilian looking figure butterfly joints then we need to see them improve some of the articulation on Marvel Legends as well (Jaina Solo blows away any female Marvel Legends figure hands down). Don't forget that the Black Series also can print the serial numbers on the bottom of the feet but Marvel Legends have to be on the back of the leg.
You know, I completely missed the serial number thing, but totally agree about Jaina. We need Star Wars to show Legends more articulation, but we need Legends to lend them some of their release schedule. I'd be even more broke if Black Series was hitting as hard as Legends, haha.

It isn't actually just some random dude, well he is, but the camera actually zooms in on this guy in A New Hope so this trooper to me is literally just known as zoomed in camera soldier that dies a few moments later :D

Robo... I think the problem with his knee is the flat hinge piece that hold everything together. I noticed it looks off from the back. I had a similar problem with Thrawns lower calves being flipped. The knees dont line up and the bow inward. Once you see it you cant unsee it. Boil and pop fixes it with no problem.

Another great review, Hasbro slowly improving the quality of the figures, Why hasn't Hasbro snapped you up Robo in their design team, I'd love a Robo Rebel Trooper or one designed by you, perfection, keep up the great work 👍
My guess is that they included these additional points of articulation on the chest because they are supposed to be hidden by the jacket. Remember Farmboy Luke and his double-jointed elbows, hidden under his sleeves?
I've always really liked the design of the rebel fleet troopers, its not the most exciting, but there's something about it that I just love. So yeah, I'm going to need just a few of these. I right there with you Robo lol. I really dig the butterfly joints on the figure, even though it doesn't work perfectly, I'm glad to see Hasbro is trying different things out. Definitely pulling my interest back to Black series.
Is this a better Old Man Han than the Old Man Han figure? How does the head look on that body? Also, there's something unfortunate that the vanilla "Trooper" figure may be the best looking Black Series figure so far..
The trooper figure is NOT generic! Clearly he is Brett Favre, no really look at him! 😉 Actually I'm pretty sure he's based on the trooper from the opening minutes of ANH that they do a close up on, just before the stormtroopers blow the hatch and unleash laser death on the brave heroes of the rebellion.
This makes me want them to go back and make new versions of more major characters and give _them_ butterfly joints. Gimme an ESB Vader or Jedi Boba Fett both with butterfly joints. Do a ceremony/Marvel comic Luke with butterfly joints. I just want *butterfly joints*

(After no one sees another 69, after they've all been bought out by guys that actually buy 69 of them)
Very cool figure, must have. And I think he looks more like Han Solo than the Bespin figure of Han, weirdly enough? That trooper we see in the beginning of ANH looks a bit like Harrison Ford (when i was a kid, i thought he *was* Solo 😂)

Well it was a long long time ago (so I guess we've come a long way in regards with data storage since then), then again we never knew how big of size the deathstar plans were, maybe they were like 500,000 Gagillion Gigabites. So a device just a tad bigger than a creditcard isnt that bad if you think about it that way jajaj :P . I was kind of only looking forward for this figure to headswap with the Death Star Trooper its a shame it would need mods to change them up, Its a nice looking figure but I was only planning to buy one for the headswaps, It doesnt really fit anywhere in my collection. Im betting a bunch of these would look great with the Darth Vader centerpiece thought.
Dusty Bragg but the only time you actually see the physical deathstar plans harddrive is from Rogue One when the rebels are playing relay race baton hand-off trying to escape Vader. Makes more sense to come with this figure, than R2....imo.

Probably could, there is not actually a seam around the hole, wouldn't look too out of place with more material missing.
