As a photographer myself I would tell people that they must always keep this in mind that it's quite easy to get the details out of a underexposed photograph than an overexposed blown out photograph in post processing. The dynamic range is quite superior in Nexus 6P when compared to OP3.
It's so funny that the reviewer has it so wrong. You cannot recover those overexposed highlights on the 1+3 but you can easily brighten up the photos of the N6P.

Just got the delivery of Oneplus 3 a couple of days ago and I'm loving every bit of it. But I need one help though. Can someone please let me know what does the "HD" means in the stock camera app between the flash and HDR toggle? Also should I keep the Auto HDR on at all times or only when needed?
HD, as you may know is high definition. This mode tries to capture the details from the shot with less noise, but not necessarily the dynamic range. In HDR mode, it's all about getting the colours right, well defined edges of objects, background but with a little bit of noise. If you don't mind the extra time it takes to capture the shot, leave it on auto hdr.
The color on OP 3 is just brighter and more vibrant but it clearly shows how amazing the camera is on Nexus 6p, proper colors as exactly we see, it doesn't just enhance colors plus video and low light performance was outstanding on Nexus 6p so overall The Nexus 6p is superior! It demonstrates that pixels are not everything.
The colors are not totally right on the Nexus 6p in outdoor conditions it's more saturated than it in in reality sort of bit extra tone of color but yes the dynamic range is way better on the Nexus 6p, obviously between the two overall pick would be the Nexus 6p.
Forget about Xperia.. Nexus 6P is a good device however cost more than OP3. OP3 is more compact than 6P and have more features due to custom OS. I would suggest OP3.
audio on Op3 has been improved massively. And initially in the video there is some flickering on oneplus screen, is it video problem or its screen's issue? +Geekyranjit
Hi why shouldnt we go for Moto Nexus 6 , 64GB , in terms of price and we also get all the updates we have on newer nexus versions.. rather than getting oneplus 3... (Nexus 6 is barely 10sec slower when compared to oneplus3 6GB RAM)...
The Rear facing camera video recording of the nexus 6p has more detail but there's no optical image stabilization while the oneplus 3 does have some decent stabilization.
the nexus is better, more beautiful. super nice. I like to make videos, but the nexus 6p does not have image stabilizer, even if i buying it, could i correct the videos with some program or stabilizer for mobile?
Even though the 6P seems to underexpose it, I seem to prefer it more because it doesn't overexpose objects be it in outdoor or indoor conditions and that way, it preserves a tonne of more detail. I believe if you take a 100% crop of both, that will come much clearer to you. But, in terms of video, I prefer the rear camera of the Op3 since it seems much more stable to shakes in comparison to the 6P. But too bad that the camera on the Op3 is not so powerful like that of the 6P as the OP3's mic seems to give it a very tin-y and sharp output.
yeah true, the advantage OP3 has in video is that it has OIS and for 1080p it uses OIS + EIS whereas we don't have OIS on Nexus 6p so just EIS so video is smoother on OP3 when you move.
Hm exactly! OP3 seems to be a better one One plus tinkers and improves the sensor but as of now 6P takes it all. Also, I think the reason why 6P fares better in low light that Op3 is due to the sensor size differences. P.S. Awesome comparison Ranjit! Loved it!

yes u can take raw photos on nexus 6p but u have to use 3rd party app i.e. manual camera. n yah op3 can shoot raw photos too. both r f/2.0. but 6p pixel size is bigger 1.55 n op3 is 1.12
