Toofast Max Check's out Yamaha's 2017 YZ 125 at the European Launch in Dorno ,Italy. See what he thinks in this crazy all singing all braaaping talk n ride video!
I don’t let off the throttle wfo the entire time I’m riding or racing a 125! I think that 125’s defines all when a racer proves he can out ride any class on either a YZ 125 or a KTM 125. My opinion 😎🏁🇺🇸
That was a very good ride , that bike I mean , Ha , Ha , You kept it on the track , You must be experienced riding , Ha . I plan to get one next year , I`m getting to old to quickly .
As much as I love the 250sxf and 350sxf that me and my old man own, I can't help but want a 125 again. I still regret the day I sold my 2004 rm125! Went like the clappers and was almost showroom condition :(
Sadly, unless you are a pro riding against amatuers, it would pay to get used to being passed by the 250f. I do love seeing a rad rider, slamming these around the tracks
you have to ride a 2 stroke on the pipe. especially a 125. all the power is made on the power band and a little mid range. practically no bottom end power. you have to do top ends a lot but it is easy and not too expensive. The one thing a 2 stroke can do is teach you how to ride. The power is a lot harder to control, and you have to carry your speed around corners, 4 strokes have the torque to take off from low speeds and stops. Look at Steinke and how he rides his 125. Always revved out and on the pipe. And he's a pro. Or look at Stewart on his KX 125 days. He could wax everyone and rode that thing pinned. The bikes were designed to be rode at high RPM. Obviously not 100% maxed out all the time in low gears, but short to medium time intervalls.
Exactly right, its too easy to ride a 4 stroke lazily (especially a 450). 125s have absolutely no torque and won't go anywhere unless you are in the correct gear, within the powerband. The funny thing is though, I had my CR250 for a good 4-5yrs, and got on to an injected 450f and absolultely tore it up. I love my 2T's, but you really cant beat the tech of the new 4t's.
125's are a blast to ride!...You can flick them around so easy and the power won't hurt you.

125 definetly, if you havent rode a 2 stroke before definetly go for the 125, it has soooo much more power than you think
