If There had to be a story about THE END in this AU, I think this would be the best way to do it: •Set this epilogue story during the events of Sonic 4, specifically when Eggman returns to Little Planet. •After bringing Metal Sonic back online, Eggman discovers some of the ancient technology that he had overlooked during his conquest of the Little Planet. Since he has to repair Metal Sonic anyway, he attempts to incorporate some of his tech into Metal. This combines Metal’s CPU with that of Cyberspace (kind of like what happened with Sage.) •In an instant, Metal downloads all of the history of the ancients, and knows that Eggman has set forth a set of events that unleash The End. Unlike Sage who wants to stop the end from being unleashed for selfless reasons (to protect Eggman), Metal can’t allow the end to destroy the world because if the world is destroyed, Metal will never get a chance to defeat Sonic. •Before Eggman can give Metal any orders, the machine flies off towards Earth to try and learn route Sonic. If metaled defeats the hedgehog, then he will have complete his purpose, and then he doesn’t care what happens to the world. But if Metal is defeated, he will lead sonic back to Little planet, so that he can deal with The End. •From there of the events of Sonic 4 Episode 2 plays out more or less the same until Sonic & Tails run into (what I like to call) CYBER-METAL. The fight is insanely difficult, but sonic is just barely able to defeat Metal, causing him to retreat towards Little Planet. Realizing how much for a threat Metal is now, Sonic & Tails once more ask for the help of Knuckles. •From there, the trio heads towards Little Planet where they meet Eggman. The heroes fight, Eggman, but during the fight, he let it slip that metal sonic has gone haywire. With that knowledge, although things initially began hostile, they agree to work with Eggman to figure out what is going on with Metal Sonic. • as they travel, they come across the first Cyberspace entrance, creating a link between them, Cyberspace, and a mysterious voice [which we know is The End]. The end misleads them into believing defeating The Titans will sever metal from his newfound power. •As they old travel through the first few zones, they were able to access special stages to collect the Chaos Emeralds. Fortunate that they did, since they eventually come across the Titans. •It takes the combined effort of the 3 heroes in there super forms to defeat Giganto, but they are just barely able to defeat them. Upon the Titans depth, they learn a little bit about the Ancients. •From hear the story continues with them, defeating the Titans acrossed Little Planet as Sonic wonders why these machines have only awaken now, as they weren’t active last time he was here. •Throughout all of us, the heroes have been absorbing more and more Cyber Energy. It’s not nearly as lethal as it was in Frontiers since it’s divided up between three heroes, but it’s still noteworthy. •With the Titans defeated, the end instructs them to deactivate the last of the towers to disable Cyberspace. •At the last tower, they encounter Cyber-Metal for one last battle. After defeating him, almost uncharacteristically, Metal bags them not to disable the last tower. But the heroes, thinking that he’s just trying to preserve his power, don’t listen. •The End has been unleashed. Metal sonic furiously lunges at his work in a counterpart. As metal is desperately trying to complete his one goal before the end of the world, he let it slip what The End he’s going to do along with some of the key points of what happened to the ancients. •Knuckles is shocked to to hear of the ancients, what became of them, and how the Echidna tribe has unknowingly been guarding the last remnants of the species. • realizing the greater risk to the world, Eggman demands that metal help the heroes stop at the end. Metal initially declined the order, but Eggman points out that at this point he’s only hope to the feet sonic is to make sure the world for them to fight in later. So metal begrudgingly works with the heroes. Metal runs a series of calculations, before determining that he’ll need to make preparations to deal with the end, all he needs is for the Heroes to distract it. •They come up with a plan to deal with the end. Individually, none of them stand a snowballs chance in hell against the end. To defeat, this creature, they’re gonna need a village. And when I say that, I mean it literally. •The heroes (Along with Eggman) return to angel island, asking for the help of the Echidna tribe. It takes some convincing for them to fight alongside Eggman once more, but with the fate of the world in the balance, they don’t have much of a choice. • just outside the stratosphere of the Earth, the end looks down on the planet. It will seem destroy, only to see a glimmer of gold approaching. But not just one glimmer. Hundreds of golden creatures flying towards it. Team Sonic and the entire echidna tribe approach the end with the power of the seven chaos emeralds flowing throughout each of them. The end may be mighty, but even it begins to feel nervous at the threat, presented by hundreds of super opponents. • after a long, arduous battle, resulting in even a few casualties, the heroes are able to whittle down The End’s health. That’s when metal sonic arrives with his trump card: The Time Stone! • throughout the entire battle, metal had been tracking down the time stones from their respective special stages. And now with all seven, he uses their combined force to send The End to the end of Time. In a cruel sense of irony, it got what it wanted: Pure neutrality. Nothingness. • From here, the story wraps up with the day being saved and the Echidna clan building a shrine to dedicate the ancients that came before them.
